Auxiliary Pump Looks different which one should i buy 2015 mk7 tdi S

Id part says this one numbers match
VW site says this one. This one kinda look like mine.

What's the diff in these two parts. I found the hose i need to replace and was thinking maybe i should just replace the Auxiliary Pump along with it. its around 130k miles OR is this something i shouldn't even bother with. The leak is up on the top long the hose which is around 40 to order. 120 for the idpart one comes with the hose and has the clamps i believe.

How to remove high pressure egr pipe from CBAB

I need to remove it temporarily to remove the coolant flange

However the bolts connecting to the egr cooler down the back seem impossible to get at, even with turbo hoses removed and a uni joint

Anyone know how to remove them?

Timing Belt kit 2011 JSW TDI

Hello everyone. Just wanted your opinions on which timing belt kits you all use for the MK6 TDI.

I was calling around some shops for repair (most shops quote under $1500). However one shop quoted me for a duralast kit and I almost had a stroke. Another shop said they dont like the steel impellers because apparently they cause hydrolysis of the coolant fluid, which degrades the fluid over time?

I was thinking either Diesel Geeks timing belt kit

https://dieselgeek.com/collections/vw-tdi-timing-belt-kits/products/common-rail-timing-belt-kit-for-vw-golf-jetta-beetle-tdi

Or FCP Euros Continental Kit, which I know a lot of you will recommend.

I would not prefer cheaper options, considering that my next big purchase is a CP4 disaster kit, as im trying to make this car last minimum of 350,000 mi.

Any and all recommendations would be appreciated, as well as absolute NO-GO brands.

Edit: no issues with the car btw. However its still original belt thats 15 years old and 110,000 mi. Also any other repairs I should do while they are in there?

Check engine and glow plug light

2013 Golf TDI with ~120,000 miles with delete and tune done 2 years ago taken in to a local shop specializing in German and European cars for an oil change and timing belt and water pump replacement. Informed after the replacement of boost leaks and exhaust leak and asked if it’s ever lost power or gone limp but no it never has had any issues. I need it for tomorrow so pick it up without addressing the leaks today thinking I’ll read up on it first. 1 minute down the road check engine light and glow plug light turn on and car goes limp. Called them back right away and took it back and got a rental. Coincidence that this happens right after they’ve worked on it when it’s never happened before? Just looking for thoughts and input maybe what could have happened and what I can expect.

Hello is it somehow possible to enter the live timing chart through vcds lite?

If not is it possible to adjust the timing using only live data like the duty cycle value 😅

I did the un-ethical Dodge ram eco diesel parts on ckra

So for those of you that are in a situation similar to mine ... Helping a buddy with his 2014 Passat TDI sel Premium..... timing; water pump; valve cover... The usual... 1 return line fitting snapped. The knock off fix was about 60ish. I got a set of 6 return line fittings for a eco diesel ram; they are in shape identical and fit 100% safely! Just figured I'd share as it was a 17 dollar fix over replacing a line with 4 ....

Is Ontario 'pothole friendly'

Might be moving from SK to Ontario in the next year or so. My 09 JSW is potholed.

Not looking for any incriminating specifics, but am I going to be able to find a 'pothole friendly' inspection to plate my car there or am I asking for trouble (and a fine) by bringing my beloved Jetta with me?

Thank you in advance.

Sticky transmission in my 2014 jetta tdi

When i start the car the power steering is a bit heavy but it gets better after a few minutes. Also the transmission likes to stay in gear until i get to higher revs before it shifts, and it also downshifts quite aggressively as i slow down. Is this just the ecu trying to warm the engine up?

Due to a sunroof leak, I had to peel back the carpet and found rust on the driver side footwell. These photos were taken after being briefly sanded. Was planning on doing por15, but would like to hear suggestions/experiences.

Can anybody tell me what this sound could be. Both sounds! Is the sound of the timing belt normal it seems so loud and lately during idle it is making a weird misfire/rattle sound as well that's concerning. I have a 2011 jetta tdi sportwsgon. The entire car is vibrating way more and you can see it i

One radiator fan stays on.

Hello, new TDI owner here! I just got a 2013 sportwagen, and if you are looking down at the fans the right fan stays on. If i disconnected the battery and reconnect it, the fan comes back on full speed. What can I do to fix the fan?? I also have this clunking that happens above 15mph and gets faster as I speed up. The guy said it was a wheel bearing, but I know the sound of a bad wheel bearing and it sounds like a cv axle.

So i need some trubo and may some upgrade advice

So I have a 2003 VW Jetta TDI (ALH 5 speed manual) I dropped an engine in it last year just for the turbo (I put in a cheap ebay one) to go out last week. I stopped driving the car for now, but I just want to know if I can trust a turbo upgrade from XmanTurbos alongside their injector set upgrade, which is suspiciously cheap but do you guys have any turbo suggestions? my budget is for a turbo under $700

3 Options

Context: I just recently purchased a 2005 MK4 Jetta TDI with the BEW motor in it. I knew it had a blown turbo, the seller was very honest about that. I’m looking for guidance on how to proceed. This Jetta has 190k miles and I drive an average of 20k miles a year. I was told the timing belt and water pump has already been serviced. Based on the Carfax I bought I believe it was done around 130k miles but I’m unable to verify for sure. Regardless of the option I go the timing belt would be serviced at 200k miles or as soon as the Kerma kit is ordered if I go that route.

1: I go as cheap as possible and drive it normally and do the regularly scheduled maintenance. I’ve found an Aisin turbo for $700 shipped. Does anyone have any experience with Aisin turbos and is this worth it? My truck has an Aisin transmission amongst other Aisin parts and I haven’t had any issues or complaints so I’m not opposed to trying the Aisin turbo. It comes with all gaskets needed. I will, however, purchase the flexible oil supply line from Kerma TDI or an equal alternative store.

2: I go balls to the wall and spend about $6600 at Kerma TDI for a complete kit including new performance turbo, performance clutch, performance camshaft, new timing belt, 3 bar MAP sensor, EGR hose, and a tune. I am extremely hesitant to go this route because I drive on a very accident prone stretch of interstate, for reference between myself and 2 other family members 4 vehicles have been totaled in the last calendar year and only one being a family member’s fault all others were not at fault accidents. I do not want to spend $6600 on parts for a car that’s only worth maybe $3,000 max if it’s totaled. The sales guy was very adamant to not simply do the turbo but to do everything together, I know he’s a sales guy but it certainly makes since given the age and mileage it likely needs to be serviced. I have my doubts the previous owners took the best care of it.

My third and final option is I put a cheap turbo on this car and sell it for what I have in it and purchase the performance parts for my truck (also a diesel), which I love dearly and is at least worth more and based on my calculations if I did everything I wanted to my truck it’s current market value would still cover most of what I put into it.

I really hate to look at this as I’m going to loose the vehicle, but the way people drive in my area I can’t afford to throw away money and risk not getting the majority of it back in a worse case scenario. Thanks in advance!

Edit: Someone mentioned it would be cheaper not shopping exclusively at Kerma, what is the next best alternative? I mean in the grand scheme of things if it’s not a large difference I’d prefer to use whatever is best so it will last.

Mercedes ML320CDI vs VW Touareg 3.0TDI

What I'm referring to is the 2005-2008(W164)
Mercedes ML320CDI and the 2006-2010(7L
Facelift) VW Touareg 3.OTDI, both automatic and 4x4 obviously. Here's my concern:

I need a car for towing, and I'm in the Balkans where accessibility and parts are best for German cars, but if you guys have any other suggestions around the same price range I would consider anything.

I'm having a hard time choosing between these 2 cars, so I would appreciate help with advice and first hand experience with reliability, capability etc.

Evening all,

Got a low oil pressure light coming on dash over the last couple of days.

It comes on after engine is up to temp around 20 mins afterwards.

Is there any known issue with these engines that would be causing it before getting parts that may no solve the issue?
