No more home runs otherwise next season in North Korea

Sometimes I wonder what the rays have done to earn so much mockery and disrespect online and in the media. Yes, it’s been a disappointing series, but the team had won more games this year than ever before. They are not frauds for running into a team on an historic heater. Seems like the respect for the team’s success is begrudgingly given but the hate and schadenfreude is piled on at a moments notice.

I’m guessing it’s because of a combination of factors, the biggest being the fans of big market teams that the rays outperform pointing out whatever they can to mock the organization

Anyone else getting some serious 2004 ALCS vibes with this series? The Red Sox lost the first 2 games on the road and then get blown out in game 3 at home. But then they come back to win game 4. In 12 innings. Now we just have to wait and see if game 5 goes 14 innings.

Did Cammy pull his hammy? Could anyone track any post from Marc or any sources?

The amount of hate rays are getting everywhere is sad :( even their own fans, i think many of us (including me) need a reminder that the rays had one of the lowest chances of making it anywhere this year and here we are, win or lose im proud of them, LETS GO RAYS!

Look I know dooming is popular rn, believe me I’ve done my share, but let’s face some facts. This year has been an amazing ride, from predicted last at the start, sweeping the Yankees on their own field, fighting back against the Guardians? Yeah, the Brewers may have our number right now, and it’s possible we get swept, but so what? When has this team ever just gave up in the face of hardship? We didn’t do it when our generational shortstop diddled kids, we didn’t do it when our roof got blown off, and we certainly aren’t going to do it because we got smoked by an amazing team.

The Brewers swept the Dodgers, and they still nearly lost twice to us, yeah it’s copium, but cmon, we’re here and the boys in blue are not. I believe in this team with everything I’ve got, and this is truly is the end, it’s been an amazing ride, and I couldn’t think of better people to do it with.

I’ll be there game 4. Rays Up, forever and always.

I have no idea of what version we will get, but just pretend for a minute that we make chicken soup out of it tonight somehow.

Ras would get to pitch Game 5. At home on his home mound. I can only believe that he would be sharp.

Take them back to Milwaukee 3-2 and you get a full travel day and new cycle that questions if Milwaukee will choke this away. All of a sudden all of the pressure becomes theirs.

Then you get Martinez who kept us in game 1 and honestly has pitched the best in this series, and Freddy one more time in game 7 there... and what a headline that would be. Freddy vs Brewers in game 7 is the news of dreams.

I can see the path. If I imagine it hard enough I can see it.

It is probably just heavy duty copium at this point, but making them go home to defend I don't believe would be very comfortable for them.

We need a litany of things to go right, and I have to believe the patented hitting hot streak could be just days away but we don't have that much time. It has to be today.

Is it our bullpen depth? Is it Cash?

I mean this Brewers team might just flat out be one of the best WS teams I've ever seen. I don't think our team is the absolute best it can be. Which is why I'd say give it a few more years for our top prospects to graduate and what not.

We're definitely going to have to trade some chips for better pitching, bullpen depth. Yada yada, do what we always do in fleecing other teams for some stud they don't even realize will become a great player. Plus with new ownership openly wanting to spend more money that's a plus.

But has Cash ran his course? Is he our Marv Levy (Yes I'm an Upstate NY'er who is a diehard Bills fan 😂). It just seems like he makes so many in game mistakes that cost us. But I can understand it from the perspective of this is the player depth we were dealt. (I'm talking to you Ben Williamson 🤢😒).

This team, fielding and pitching, is better than this. What happened? Did we simply run out of gas at the finish line?

I had to turn the game off. This hurts.

Obviously a bit of a fool’s errand, with the lockdown looming and all. But I’m curious what people think the next year(s) of Rays baseball will look like once this World Series ends. Do you have dream pick-ups for the offseason? Do you think we’ll add/subtract to our core lineup and/or bullpen?

Personally, I’d like to see the ownership spend more on our core and plug holes in the lineup. It’s too early to tell but if the deadline was any indication, it seems the new group is willing to spend in the right places to better round out our team (Peralta being the obvious example, but Hicks also came through in the regular season as well.) I think we have a great team that exceeded expectations this year, but has clear areas to work on. With a new stadium in the works, I’m hoping the ownership feels confident in putting more money down to keep the Rays competitive.

But, who knows? Curious what others think and if anyone has different perspectives. Regardless, Rays Up 🔥🔥

Tbh I would love just to see us win these last two at the Trop, or at the bare minimum not get swept so my game 5 ticket has value. Plenty of teams have won four in a row during the playoffs, let’s be the first in the WS.
