PhosphoreZone
Hi everyone!
I have some very fond memories of playing SubSpace back in the 90s, and it inspired me to create my own online multiplayer space shooter called PhosphorZone.
It's not intended to be a direct remake, but rather my own take on that style of fast-paced spaceship combat, with modern vector graphics and retro CRT/phosphor glow effects.
Some of the features include:
- Lots of different ships and weapons
- Fast-paced online multiplayer combat
- 20 AI-controlled ships in the zone, so there's always something to fight, even when no other human players are online
- Retro-inspired glowing vector graphics
- Completely free to play
You can jump straight in and start fighting the bots, or battle alongside other human players as they join. Youtube Video: PhosphorZone
It's been a really enjoyable project to develop, and I'd love to get some feedback from fellow SubSpace players.
If you give it a try, I'd be particularly interested in what you think of the combat, ship handling and weapons.
Hopefully I'll see some of you in the zone!
