I've been playing SoulSilver with the HGSS Map Randomizer by adrienntindall, and I kept forgetting where doors led, so I built a small tracker. It's free, open source, and runs entirely in your browser.

How it works: upload the .log file the randomizer produces and it shows the story in order (Johto gyms, Elite Four, Kanto, postgame). For each step it shows which door to take and where it comes out. It also has a searchable list of every door where you can mark visited and add notes, and your progress is saved per seed. You can export it to move between devices.

The log never leaves your browser. There are no ROMs or game files involved, and you need your own legally obtained ROM to use the randomizer itself.

Known gaps: it doesn't warn you about soft locks yet and it doesn't plan walking routes between doors. Some story steps may fail to match doors in your log. If one does, tell me which step and I'll fix it.

Is there a website that has some sort of "coaching" list? Im trying to learn some tricks in OOT and I cant quite get the buttons down for some of the glitches. Any help would be appreciated.

most unknown game itw (joke) The game is split into 4 segments. For a viable run, IL1 must be sub-8 seconds. If I hit Level 2 at 11s+, the pace is dead and it’s almost impossible to clutch. In all my decent runs, Level 2 starts sub-10s, and I need to clear it sub-25s, otherwise there’s no point continuing.

Level 1 Strat:
Right at the start, I take a couple of steps, back-boost, and fly through that annoying choke point. Then I enter an even worse choke, squeezing past 3-4 enemies right against the cliff wall. I bunnyhop the entire time to maintain speed, using strafes to grab Cycle/Heart 1 and 2. After that, I line up with the wall, turn, and strafe between 4 enemies to pick up the last Heart. This clears the level at 6.5s, letting me start Level 2 at 9.8s.

Level 2 Strat:
I start with a long strafe jump, flying through a tight gap between enemies (sometimes a wider gap depending on RNG variations). I loot Heart 1 and immediately leap onto the nearest cliff, doing a quick surf on it. Next up is a nasty corner section: I have to weave past two hard enemies and immediately jump up to clear a massive mob. Upon landing, I immediately path around a hard enemy to the right, then execute a huge jump directly into a tight spot where any extra input kills the run. I carefully grab the Heart, hit a clear stretch, and use weapon boosts to accelerate. Enter Level 3 at 22.8s.

Level 3 Strat:
Right off the spawn, I boost over a massive cliff and land dead-center in front of a Heart on a rock. I loot it, enter an open area, jump to the upper cliff, and climb the top rock. From there, I boost and strafe along the cliff wall to the next Heart. I carefully jump off the left wall and grab the last Heart with a literal "floor is lava" strat, entering the final level at 36s (which is a pretty insane pace).

Level 4 Strat:
Immediately at the start, I look down, move backward, and jump onto a cliff. I build up momentum, jump even higher to reach the out-of-bounds/map edge (the cliff top), boost forward along it, and shoot under myself to fly up and grab Heart 1 at the highest point of the map. From there, I boost-jump to the second cliff and, keeping all my momentum, hop across three small rocks for the final Heart, looting it before even touching the last rock. Then I just drop down into the end trigger.

The community is happy that "Leaderboard Data" is classified as free content for everyone to use. I didn't realize the guides I wrote and posted to Speedrun.com are also classified as such until I read the terms.

You have until the end of October 31st to remove your guides to protect your work. What's interesting is "Resources" are protected. You can link to your content externally as a resource and then it's safe.

SR Speedrun has been going since 2017 and I finally put together a short trailer showing what it looks like now.

• Stock CoD4 movement, 190 and 210 speed with strafing
• CS Bhop and Surf
• Quake 3, both CPM and VQ3, also with rocket and plasma guns
• Portal, with an actual portal gun

Getting all of this to work inside CoD4 took years of work. Every movement is available on every map, so you can play CS on a CoD4 map or even on a Q3 map.

None of them are a straight copy of the original games either, they're all tweaked to keep that CoD4 feel. FPS switching and bouncing work in every movement type too, so a big part of it is learning how to use them to turn each physics to your advantage.

Since 2017 we've had more than 9K registered players, 164K+ records set on the leaderboards and over 900 maps.

Technically, code can be extracted from videogames to re create them and since it's a new game it doesn't infringe copyright

Since people don't like the new changes to terms and services, I was wondering if we have the power to just create a knock-off site, which also auto submits the youtube and twitch links from SRC, they'd have no choice but to do things right or get replaced

In the end, the new site would just look at SRC and add the new submitted links, but it would spare us from the terms and services. Additionally it would register new links that the users submit to the new site

Hello speedrun community. i began playing chess this summer, to mitigate some rumination issues i've been having. My short term memory is really, really shot from brain damage along with the malaise of being a burnout xennial. so i take a lot of pride in learning all 22 lines of the Italian Game opening, and then playing them without making a mistake (which would make the square i moved to red instead of lime green).

i hope that your community will make an exception to a chess speedrun, as, reaching this goal has meant a lot to me; but i don't know anyone who plays chess, so i have nobody to share this W with.

I finished a TAS of OpenRCT2 following the same rules as this RTA category. It completes all 21 original RCT1 base game scenarios to unlock Mega Park in just under 5 minutes, using TAS level gameplay in combination with a 128x internal "hyperspeed" speedup mode.

Y'all should really try this game, it's so fun
