I loved Mum, such a fantastically funny, yet comforting show!

In terms of pure sitcom comedy, Keeping up Appearances, Vicar of Dibly, Are You Being Served. Old school comedy, Dad's Army, Open All Hours. Darker Comedies Moving On, Damned. If you are looking for pure comedy beyond sitcom, game shows, especially Would I lie to you is hirarious.

Can’t leave out “Only Fools and Horses” for classics. Del Boy and Rodney are hilarious.

Red Dwarf
Peep Show
Man Down
Green Wing
Cuckoo
Catastrophe
Inbetweeners
Smoking Room
Big Boys
15 Storeys High
Toast of London
Phoenix Nights
Father Ted
Black Books
Him & Her
Ideal
Mongrels (Puppets, but very British humour)

There is so much more as well.. You're in for a lot of treats, but then the occasional one that makes you think "What the fuck is wrong with these people?!"

"Fresh Meat" is very good. Student house sharing and trying to fit it.

If you can find "Raised By Wolves", it's hilarious. There is another show with the same name, so look for the one starring Helen Monks as Germaine. [Raised By Wolves] (https://youtu.be/hPL37RpxOuk?is=vJRMCx8R8HbUuLih)

"The Green Wing" is off the wall funny.

"The Cafe"has lots of funny characters, in sometimes, heart breaking situations.

"Mum" stars Leslie Manville and she's great.

Father Ted is not quite British, but close enough. Hilarious.

Spaced is probably the high water mark - it's very spirituality similar to Community but with a more British twist. Same people who did Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.

Black Books and Father Ted were both written by the same person who made IT Crowd. He's an awful terf now so pirate them. Great writer though.

Green Wing is without exaggeration the single greatest (and weirdest) sitcom in a medical setting (yes, better than MASH and Scrubs).

Peep Show is one of the few British sitcoms that have a significant back catalogue, all of which is absolute gold.

You'd probably like Gavin and Stacey too - wasn't my jam personally but I can see why other people like it (similar to Seth lets Flats).

Motherland. Ghosts (uk version is so much better) Laid Extraordinary Sisters Detectorists.

There are a lot of really good ones. Those are the ones that just came to mind.
