Susan Saint James

Rest in peace to Susan Saint James who played Kate on Kate & Allie.

Susan Saint James will always be remembered by many television fans for her role as Kate McArdle on Kate & Allie. ❤️

She brought so much personality, humor, and warmth to the character, and her chemistry with Jane Curtin was a big part of what made the sitcom so memorable.

Really great pilot episode. It has a bit of drama, good punch lines and a lot of comedy. Looking forward to more comedy in season 1

Sitcoms where major characters were introduced later

I was just thinking about how Parks and Rec doesn't really find its groove until late Season 2 when Ben (Adam Scott) and Chris (Rob Lowe) showed up.

What are some other examples of sitcom characters who were introduced later and became integral to the show?

A few more I thought of:

- Boy Meets World: Topanga

- The Good Place: Simone

- Family Matters: Steve Urkel

- The Office: Erin (edit: Andy)

Super glue scenes

• Upvotes

Hello guys.

Does anyone here recall any newer (2020s+) tv shows / movies with super glue scenes?

Like for example a woman gets her hand glued to something as a prank?

Who is cleaner, Sheldon or Monica?

Sheldon and Monica both have a similar kind of OCD that wants to keep things in order.

I wonder, who will be the better cleaner? It seems like Sheldon cares more about hygiene while Monica cares about the cleanliness of the house. Sheldon did have some rules about cleanliness like in the roommate's agreement Leonard has to stand behind a line while brushing his teeth, and he said he likes to clean when Bernadette tricked him into cleaning her house. And Monica cares more about crumbs, eating by the sink or something. She isn't afraid of going to hospital, and she doesn't have hand sanitizer everywhere.

So if these two meet, and let's say they become roommates, who will be cleaner?

Why are people so offended by “laugh track” sitcoms?

I can understand disliking them. When the laughter is obviously fake, it can be annoying. I’ve always found a real studio audience much better.

But dear god, why do so many people have to review bomb all new multicamera sitcoms with one star reviews? If you don’t like the format, just don’t watch it. Personally, I usually dislike the mockumentary format. The shakey cam makes me dizzy and too many characters whisper their dialogue. The timing gets weird sometimes too.
But I don’t (yet?) review mockumentary sitcoms complaining about their clichéd format.

Waiting for God

I’m American, but I grew up in the 90’s watching older British sitcoms. As an adult, I’ve pretty much watched them all, or at least the ones that interest me. Red Dwarf was my all time number one for a while. I recently found an old Stephanie Cole sitcom called Waiting for God. I love it so much. I can’t find anyone who has ever heard of it! Anyone here love the show? I want to giggle with someone. 🥲

Any younger fans of The Mary Tyler Moore Show?

The Mary Tyler Moore Show hit the ground running in 1970 and never looked back. Perfectly cast from day one, it is the most timeless of the wave of 70s sitcoms.

I’m a 25 year old guy. This show debuted 31 years before I was born. Its main character is a single working woman. Nothing about it should be in my wheelhouse, yet I love it. That’s the magic of these shows.

Which character do you like the best out of these four?

These are probably my four favorite characters on a sitcom, and they come from three of my favorite shows of all time: Mash, Cheers, and It's Always Sunny. I was just wondering which one is your favorite character between the guys?

On the hunt for…

Looking for a sitcom for lots of laugh out loud humor. Whether it’s dark humor, adult humor, and all in between. Just want to keep laughing. Any recommendations? I just finished mom and I love the laughs. In the middle of Santa Clarita diet. I haven’t watched many shows as the storylines seem to bounce everywhere. I just want to really laugh out loud
