How much do you actually feed your Husky? The bag range feels useless
My guy is about 50 lbs, and the bag says something like 2 to 3 cups a day, which is a decent range. Vet said to go more by body condition since he's neutered and very active, but that still feels like guessing every time I fill the bowl.
Started looking into why the bag ranges are so vague and apparently even a properly calculated number can vary a lot per dog just from normal metabolism differences. Kind of made me feel better about not getting it perfect, but also made me realize most of us are probably just eyeballing it.
How do you all figure out portions? Straight off the bag, watching body condition, something else? Found a calculator that breaks down the math and also this page which is cute but I feel that it's trying to sell me something. Still, I'm not sure how much those two and others correlate with reality.

She tried to murder him the night he came home, but this video has been their relationship ever since they hugged it out. They're so close and love each other now. He worships sissy and she adores him.

She is 11 and has always liked sliding. I made a short video today from her slides last night. What does your husky love doing?

Our New Rescue, Maddie!
Sorry for the picture overload!
(Slight trigger warning- animal abuse)
Me and my husband stumbled across a lady on tiktok that was donating to a shelter a few counties away from our home, and she is covering everyone's pet adoptions! We went and already had an eye on her but did give other dogs a chance, but kept coming back to her. Shes perfect in every way... other than her hatred of cats but not something we have to worry about.
Maddie is estimated to be 5-7 years old. She was found by animal control and was in a kennel covered in her own filth, and was almost completely yellow when they found her. Shes been returned 2x (due to cats) , and has been at the shelter for 1 year. She is also Lyme Disease positive, we have her meds and other than that she is healthy.
She made instant best friends with my 3 year old, and loves my older two as well.
I grew up with huskies and gsd's. I've wanted another for almost 10 years now and so lucky that I happened to find the post on tiktok that led me to her. 🩶 and a special shout out to my husband for choosing her for me (it was supposed to be a present for himself).

We Said Goodby Today
Mya had quickly lost her appetite. In less than two weeks she went from normal mooching and eating to not wanting hardly anything. She would go through periods of not wanting a lot of food her whole life. She was one month shy of 14 years old. So we thought it was normal. But the last 4 days, she would only drink and nibble a few treats.
We took her to the vet this morning. The x-rays came back with out biggest fear, cancer. Mya had large tumors of cancer on her liver and her spleen. So that very hard decision was made to end her suffering before it got any worse.
We are going to miss her dearly. And so will her doggy siblings, 2 Husky's and 2 Boxers. This world will never be the same with you My-Mya.
