Hays County Early Voting Hours

I just recieved my utility bill thats due beginning of November. The first page talks about rate increases that begin on Oct 1. It is October 27. Why are they letting me know of these rate increases at the end of the month after it went into effect?

There was no notice prior, not that I can do anything about it, but lowkey insane to tell me after the fact.

I did check prior bills and theres nothing regarding rate increases, I check my mailbox daily and had recieved no notice on there as well.

Perhaps you have heard, but there are rabies warning signs up around the Progress Park area, along Bishop, at the park and in the neighborhood. I really appreciate these warnings. What I wonder though, is why are there warning signs this time and not all of the others? This is at least the third time this year of confirmed rabies cases in the area.

Are they putting up signs because this keeps happening? Were there multiple isolated instances of rabid animals attacking people or pets? I’m glad the city is taking the effort to warn us of rabies in the area but I wish they would have done it for all of the other incidences as well.

Who do you recommend for black and gray realism tattoos in San Marcos or nearby? Pics if possible.

Hi San mo community I’m in desperate need of your help. My cat Faye ran away about 4 days ago (near the Thompson/ Copper Beech area the streets are MILL ST & POST RD) if anybody happens to see her (her left ear is clipped it will help identify her) please reach out to me. I walked on foot throughout my entire complex as well as the neighboring areas for hours every day, I’ve posted flyers posted on social media. I’ve gotten my apartment complex to post on their social media, I’m giving out my phone number to people for possible leads, but still nothing, checked with the animal shelters, and currently her bed and some food is by my front door. There’s like some wood/tree brush behind my apartment and I’ve kind of puked through there from a safe distance. I’m still trying to decide whether it’s safe enough to go in to search because train tracks run through there.

it breaks my heart to have to rehome my fur babies but I’d rather they be with someone than a shelter. I’m trying to avoid the shelter as much as possible . I’ve had Phoebe since she was three months old and I’ve had Valentino for a couple months I picked him up from the San Marcos regional animal shelter and he is the perfect dog he really is the perfect dog for me life’s not fair . Pheebee Black Lab mix female roughly 3 years old Valentino (Tino for short) husky mix male 1-2 years old they’re both spayed/neutered. Tino is currently up-to-date on vaccinations Pheebee is not I cannot afford it. They’re both crate trained and housebroken they’re both very sweet very affectionate very quiet Doggos. I have to rehome due to housing instability. They’re both good with children and other dogs the husky is not good with cats he chases them because he wants to play
Valentino will be very shy and aloof at first but once he’s comfortable he won’t leave your side and is very affectionate often plopping is head in your lap and rubbing you or and going belly up. Valentino likes hard chew bones Phoebe is very very sweet she prefers stuffed animals Pheebee enjoys tug or war with humans Shes very gentle when playing tug o war like surprisingly gentle. Pheebe loves booty scratches Both doggo’s love the occasional pork bone from Walmart you can get for less than three bucks to five bucks a pop Both doggo’s also enjoy Frozen strawberries and bone marrow treats

There’s a gas leak near cabana beach apts.

It is apparently not an emergency at this point and an evacuation notice hasn’t been issued but the gas smell outside is overwhelming. Anyone experience this before? I am perplexed by the fact that it is not considered an emergency. Anyone else live in any of the surrounding apartments and smell it? Or was anyone told anything different about whether there’s an evacuation notice?

The San Marcos Library is hosting its first repair cafe-style event!

We are looking for more volunteers to join who have tools/skills and wish to help out your community, please get in touch with Brooke Faherty (BFaherty@sanmarcostx.gov) and let her know you'd like to join us on Saturday, November 7th between 1-4pm in the Makerspace Room.

I'll be there helping out with electronic and mechanical repairs for things like toys, kitchen gadgets, and vintage electronics. It'd be great if there were some fiber artists who could mend clothes, or maybe some woodworkers willing to patch up furniture, or bike mechanics who can keep bikers on the road!

If you have the skills but lack the tools, let me know and I can see what I can cobble together. Also, please spread the word. I'm hoping this event will gain some recognition because I'd really like to hold a Santa's Workshop event where volunteers (myself included) can help assemble toys for this year's holiday season.

Dropped my keys while biking to class this morning from the Commuter lot on Aquarena. I only biked to the Theatre center and immediately retraced my steps but they were nowhere to be found. It is a buick key fob on a blue wristlet with lots of other keys. I can't drive my car or bike to class without my keys, please let me know if you picked them up!!!! Would have been somewhere along Aquarena or University Drive, on the sidewalks.
