Anyone know of any cute bookstore in SA? I’ve been to book nerd and loved it and was wondering if there were any other hidden book gems

I’m looking for recommendations of medical providers of some sort with specialized experience or interest in Milk & Soy Protein Intolerance. I have a 12m old who fits the bill and I have heard most pediatricians have very little knowledge or valuable advice on this. Thanks!

Anyone currently or attended UIW’s ABSN program?? What was your experience? What should I know before starting? Seeking advise. I start in spring 2027 with no healthcare experience.

For anyone else who’s in the Medical Center area:
St. Luke’s Catholic Church is currently running a collection for Coats for Kids until November 22nd. The church is located at 4603 Manitou Dr, San Antonio, TX 78228 and has collection bins in the church foyer and parish hall. New or gently used coats appreciated.
The church also has a chapter of the Society of St. Vincent, which is primarily a food bank that also offers clothing, household goods, and bus passes depending on availability. This service is open to all, no need to join the organization or Church to participate. They also help families who are in need of a Thanksgiving dinner. Contact into and hours of operation are here: https://saintlukeparish.com/st-vincent-de-paul

Hey yall I was recently offered a RN job at university women and children’s. I’m a new grad w prior healthcare experience. I’m really excited since it’s my dream hospital ! I’m just waiting for the official offer from HR 😀.
Wondering if any nurses could chime in who work or have worked here recently? Mainly wondering what you loved about working here and what you don’t like ? I’m sure some is unit specific but still love the insight!
-Also wondering about base pay offered at your unit (I know it varies by unit and experience!)
-was your previous healthcare experience like MA, tech, EMT taken into consideration w pay, night shift diff , weekend diff, etc.
-Can you tell me how PTO accrues? What’s the difference between staff 1,2,3 and is there a pay increase % for each one? Is there a retention bonus?
-If you need time off but don’t have PTO (like kiddos are ill or something) can you just do unpaid leave?
-Also has anyone experienced maternity leave what’s that like and how long do you get paid/unpaid?
-Did you feel your unit was supportive and collaborative on orientation and afterwards?
Thanks so much! Any insight is great. 🙏🏻

You can borrow ebooks and audiobooks for FREE with your San Antonio Public Library card. You don’t even have to drive to the library. Just download the app, connect your card, and start reading or listening right from your phone.
I feel like a lot of people don’t know about this, especially if you’re trying to learn something new, get into business, or just listen to a good book while driving.
Free knowledge right at your fingertips. Hard to beat that.
Anybody else in SA use Libby? What books are y’all reading lately?

Its me again! There is a noise show at There and Back Again Books. I cant assure you that you will like what the performers do, but i can assure you it will be a new experience if you have never been exposed to that type of stuff before. All artists are local, and some of them are veterans in the "scene." Oltre La Morte is playing for the first time in 14 years so it is also historic. He used tk book me on shows when I was a kid. I would post the flyer but last time it got taken down immediately and now I am gun shy. There is also a fest going on next month at bluestar on the 21st and 22nd. All shows are donation based and also we accept mutual aid donations. Right now cold weather stuff is needed. If you have questions feel free to DM. Trust me when I say you will never forget this night if you attend! Also this is to help support the bookstore. Every dollar goes to the owner!

so if you live in bexar county but not san antonio limits you have to pay a $30 annual fee. i have a san antonio address but i have to pay the $30. this indicates there is severe money mismanagement in san antonio. SEVERE corruption and money mismanagement.
so many families depend on a library card to get their kids to read, watch movies with the rented DVDs, etc... and a lot of families nowadays happen to live in the san antonio/bexar county outskirts and enclave cities and whatnot. some of these families are lower income or just straight up, can't afford buying books at barnes and nobles and things like that.
i think it's really disturbing they're doing this. san antonio lately has been making such interesting choices. btw... the people they are charging this $30 fee to... couldn't even vote or decide on this matter! other major cities don't charge people typically in the county the major city resides in to get a library card... only non-residents.
for those who don't want to pay the $30, i would advise switching to bibliotech, bexar county's fully digital library. it's completely free for everyone within bexar county.

I have a friend whose roomie unfortunately was arrested while on his way to visit his mom in Laredo. He had a lawyer but that lawyer ended leaving for reasons that are unknown to me. The roomie is down on his luck financially and needs a lawyer that can do payment plans cuz the ones he’s looked into wanted a lot upfront. Any lawyer you know of that fits this description, please drop their name and info below so that i can forward this info to my friend. Thanks in advance.

For over two hours now, the intersection at Huebner and Vance Jackson has been flashing red lights. No one seems to treat it as a four way stop. Cars just behind other cars to "squeeze through" kids earlier trying to cross almost getting hit. The police should be out here guiding traffic before a major accident happens or somebody gets hit trying to cross the street. I've only lived here a few years but have lived in other major cities and I've never had to wait this long to see a response on a major intersection at least have the police directing traffic.

Hi! I’m interested in sac’s nursing program but I am curious as to (if you got in) what were your stats? Unfortunately, I got a C in one of my class (not a science class) so I’m wondering if that will affect my chances. I’m still taking my pre reqs currently. I feel like I always hear mixed opinions.

My sister called the Express News, trying to cancel my mom's paper subscription. She has been a subscriber for YEARS. They told her to at least stay with digital , that she would lose her email account if she cancelled all together. How the hell can the Express News control sbcglobal.net email. Sounds like a scam to me.

Looking for a place (preferably on the north side) with good atmosphere and of course sound on the game. Thanks!

This isn't about wanting to bring our pets everywhere, this is because our home has to be empty for 2 hours while it's treated for mold - but we're not sure where we can go with our pets. (one cat, one dog)
They would be in carriers, but we do need AC for the cat, and it needs to be open in the morning from 10-12 at least (our one idea doesn't open until noon).
Any ideas of someplace we can wait this out would be appreciated! I'm located fairly north.
EDIT: Thanks so much everybody! I think just hanging out at a park will be it.

Hey everyone,
I won a civil case in a San Antonio Justice Court last week, but the other party is now appealing the decision.
I’m looking for recommendations for attorneys who handle civil appeals, preferably on a contingency basis, pro bono, or with no upfront fees.
I’m a student, so my budget is pretty limited. I’d also appreciate advice from anyone who’s dealt with a Justice Court appeal in Bexar County.
If you know any good attorneys or affordable legal resources, please let me know. Thanks!

Was sitting on top of the radio inside the housing like it slipped in.
Not my particular style of music and it looked rather scratched but i did leave it to where it could be seen if anyone wants to check it out
Is it anything niche or unknown?

Where do you guys get your birth control shot? I used to go to Lone Star OBGYN and it was always free to go in & get my shot every 3 months; but then I switched to Baptist Womens & Partners clinic & they keep billing my depo-shot appointments as clinician visits so I have to pay $50 each time I visit and I noticed they chart false stuff in there as if I saw the doctor even though a nurse or MA just gives me a shot for 5 minutes and I leave. I googled it and under insurances the shot is free unless they bill it as health/wellness visits and that just doesn’t sit right with me. I was gonna go back to Lone Star but it’s hard to get back into since I would be a new pt again. Any recommendations on where to go ??

Sharing from social media. These guys are regularly doing charity campaigns helping San Antonians. Good chance to maybe clean out your coat closets. 😉
