Been noticing some new vehicles they've rolled out. Im sure seasoned drivers around SA know the typical looks and can tell when a police vehicle is dressed civilian, but the new ones are tricky.
Besides that mustang on the news, they got new SUV's and im not talking about the usual ford explorer models, they got something else, couldn't tell what, but the front end looked jeep, while the rear looked escalade.
Thing is, it didn't have discernible markings for what make and model it was. Atleast none that i could see.
Heres what i noticed.
- Front and rear lights were shaped different. No more of the iconic boxed lights with the yellow eyebrows, now they're rounded.
- segmented police lights along the chasis of the rear hatch door.
- Barely visible police livery along the doors, even during the day. Legally they must have marked vehicles, but they push the legality with loopholes and make the markings almost match the paint of the rest of the car.
- police spotlight along the drivers side front.
- no more obvious rounded hub caps. They look like regular wheels now.
- black tinted windows except for the front windows, drivers, passengers, and windshield.
- they decided to keep some chrome trimmings like a civilian vehicle would have. Namely along the sides and rear hatch door of the vehicle.
- no rear exhaust pipe was visible. If it was there it could've been a curved pipe hidden in the chasis.
- numbered license plates for now. Im pretty sure eventually they'll change them to normal looking plates soon.
Just posting this for people to be informed. Its the end of the month so yall know they'll be out en mass to make ticket quotes especially since its Halloween.
Ive already seen them pulling people over like crazy the past couple days.
Be safe, go the speed limit.
Make sure you're vehicles are maintained. No busted lights, visible license plates. Dont give them a reason.
