Hello all,
Just wanted to tell you about my wife’s experience at Bucherer in Zermatt.
Background- I have wanted a no date sub since I was in high school. I wasn’t born into anything special, and neither was my wife. Our education got us out of poverty.
My wife and her friend made an appt to visit Bucherer. I had no clue about any of this and when my wife called me to tell me what they were offering her, I was overcome with emotion because my wife was trying to get me something that I’ve wanted for a very long time and wanted to surprise me with the watch. She had a feeling the price was a little bit…off.
The watch being offered was a 2017 refurbished 114060 for 14,500 CHF. I advised my wife not to buy the watch even though 2017 was the year she and I met. I am seeing this same watch with box and papers for 11-13k USD on the grey market, plus my wife and I live in a no-sales-tax state.
My wife and her friend were treated very respectfully and stated that the salesperson wasn’t pushy or rude. He said that the watch I wanted wasn’t available, but did offer something similar.
I’m not posting this for attention or to claim that the AD was trying to rip off my wife. Just sharing my wife’s experience. Even though no watches were purchased today, I know that I’ll have my dream watch soon.
