đŸ†˜Question 401 error in RedditSync
Is anyone else getting a 401 error in the RedditSync app? It was working this morning with no error.

Here is what worked for me:
-
Update
to latest.Revanced App -
Click
and click repatch and provide the APK. Make sure the settings forReddit Sync are set toClient ID spoofing which they should be as default. Repatch the apk.Red Reader -
Install it over the current one you have after the repatch is done. It'll see it as an Update. I tried saving the patched apk first but it crashed so just click Install directly in that screen after patching is done.
-
I got a 400 error at first after launching Sync so log out of Sync. It should load when you have no user logged in anymore.
-
Log in and authorize Red Reader to access your account info.

Yeah you're right, my app API is gone now. Just checked in desktop version.
edit: Uninstall the Sync app, repatch the original APK and reinstall and you should be back in business. Just worked for me.

Boost, also. And downdetector doesn't show any reports of issues with reddit as a whole đŸ˜©.

Try doing https://old.reddit.com/r/revancedapp/comments/1tv2nft/reddit_is_fun_patching_no_longer_works/opt0hj1/ - at least for now this works for me on sync. Note you'll have to log out and in again, so back up your settings just in case (should back it up regardless anyway).

I went through an installation guide to patch this issue, but after the patch I am now getting 400 (Bad Request) errors instead.
These are the steps I followed. If anyone can help me troubleshoot that would be greatly appreciated.
-
Update Revanced app to latest version (v2.7.0-dev.4)
-
In Revanced app, select Sync, then Repatch
-
Confirm patch settings (my spoof client ID is set to the default/RedReader), then click Patch
-
On APKMirror, selected latest APK (v23.06.30-13.39)
-
Patching completed successfully, then clicked Install
-
Installation ran as an update on Sync
-
After update, clicked Open to launch Sync, was greeted by 400 error instead of 401

Try signing out and back in, I did the same thing you listed and got the same error until I logged out and back in.

400 and 401, but on Boost. Either Reddit API is fucky, or the fixed the loophole (RIP)

401 on Baconreader as well. I was on it 15 minutes ago and stepped away to come back to 401.

i've been using Sync Pro before the whole third-party API stuff, i honestly can't see myself using this stock dogshit app besides typing this comment.
edit: got Sync working again from this comment, we're back baby!

Same for Boost too. Can a new API be created and the app be "fixed" again by revanced to fix the problem?

Trying to repatch via Revanced but getting errors during patching for Boost. I guess RIP to Boost?

To fix, repatch, no custom client id needed.
