General Can we show some love for the OG Artwork?
I just love how detailed and colorful it is. The artwork gave the monsters a lot of fidelity and detail that the games couldn't due to limitations.

hello, r/residentevil! i'm chandler riggs - best known for my 8-year run on The Walking Dead as Carl - but i've since gotten behind the camera and have started writing, directing, producing, editing, etc.
i just released my short fan film for Resident Evil 7 titled BIOHAZARD! it's out now on youtube, here's a link to watch. i also did an exclusive interview with IGN, found here!
not like you all need a synopsis for this, but just because it's the AMA thing to do...
Ethan Winters, while searching for his missing wife, finds himself trapped by the Baker family - a deadly, unstoppable force driven to violence under the influence of a mysterious infection...
there are a few things i changed from how that sequence went in the game, so i'm sure you've got questions. i'm also a huge gamer outside of filmmaking, so please feel free to ask me whatever you like!
i'll be back on Friday, 10/16 @ 12p PT to answer your questions! thanks so much for having me here, hope you all enjoy the short!
edit: alright folks, that's all i have time for. thanks so much for your questions! i had a blast getting to dive deep with yall and give some insight on how we made this happen. thanks for watching the short!! see yall around :)

I've seen a lot of people complain about Leon fighting a Nemesis. Saying it should've been Jill. But it's possible for a character to have a connection to 2 characters at once. Like with Albert Wesker with both Chris and Jill.
Obviously the person who has the most connection to Nemesis is Jill. But Leon is a good second of the main 4 cast, even if Chris was also Stars.
Why?
Because Luis Serra. That's why.
Most people have brought up that RE2R - RE4R - RE9 form a sort of Leon trilogy, yeah? I made a post a while back that no one read that one of the main themes of the trilogy is guilt. From Annette to Luis to Spencer to Grace to the MC himself, Leon.
I'll save you the Ted Talk essay. But Luis feels guilty not just for his work with Los Illuminados, but because of his work with Umbrella as well.
What did that work with Umbrella entail? Well. Nemesis. It's probably different in the original timeline but in the remake timeline, which Requiem mentions through flashbacks, Luis helped create Nemesis. Not only did we see a photo of Luis working at the European Umbrella Lab, the very same lab that Nemesis was created, but in at least the wiki it's mentioned that the Nemesis parasite was inspired by Las Plagas.
At the end of the game when Leon says "Time to bury Umbrellas last skeleton". He's burying Luis's last skeleton too. That's what I think makes the moment so powerful to me, at least.

Just a lil art I made because I love Leon, I love Bryan, and idk why but the idea of their duo somehow grew on me in one goddamn second

I know this might sound funny, but with how tough Tardigrades are, I honestly wouldn't really be that surprised if Umbrella actually created a type "giant Tardigrade" of some sorts that became so tough it escaped the lab and escaped during the Racoon City Outbreak, with it being very tough similar to Nemesis. As funny as that might look, I also feel like it would be completely HORRIFYING having to literally fight one of the TOUGHEST beings to live too!! That's just my what I think, though. :)

What better way to get to know a tool than by using it for your favorite characters? (try to ignore the mistakes ok lol)
How I wish there were a game featuring Sherry and Claire, so that Sherry could return the favor and save Claire’s life, bringing things full circle. Capcom give Sherry a game already, she's not a desk lady 🔪🔪

Leon 2nd Run on Switch 2. I’ve played this game countless times on PS4, PC and PS5. I got all the trophies and achievements and now enjoying it portably.
As I was cleaning up RPD after the sewers I opened the door of the west office to get to the weapons locker room, I saw a red shape sprint by and heard a licker growl. Stepped back to reset his agro and went through the door. Was very confused when I couldn’t find him. I never knew lickers could actually fake ragdoll play dead. That fucker got me good.
Are there other rare enemy behaviors?
Please don’t mind that MP5. Has been a hot minute since I last played it and needed some aid.

I love this series and my introduction to it was Outbreak. From there I branched out and of course and played 4 right after because it came out right after. Then I played 2 and 3 looking for that same feeling Outbreak gave being set in Raccoon City. I never got that itch scratched but I do love all of OG 2,3 and 4.
So now that we are in the new era of RE with remakes and the inclusion of Alyssa in Requiem, I’m just hoping for literally anything.
I know fans are clamoring for Ada and Jill content. I get that because they are massive characters to the franchise. But what if they kept incorporating characters from Outbreak in their stories moving forward?
Would the audience be receptive to that?
(The pic used was an edit I made in 2009 on deviantart lol)

So how did anyone back in the late 90s discover that they needed to press interact on Wesker's desk 50 times to find the film role of Rebecca? Like I would get interacting with a spot for like a few times to make sure you didn't miss anything, but exactly 50 times?
Does anyone know who was the first to discover it and how?

I only got a wig for Ada and the shape of it was pretty bad so I had to style it myself. First time using a wig as well so it doesn't really look like her but it fits with my glasses since her side part blocks part of her face.
Jill and Leon I tried doing makeup to look like them, obviously no wig for either. I don't have a Jill fit pick but I do have one for Leon.
I played the Resident Evil 1-3 remakes and am currently playing RE4R (with the Ada cosplay) as part of Halloween month. Not sure if I'll continue with all of them, but they've been super fun so far. RE2 has been my favorite despite Mr. X almost making me quit the game. My only real exposure to the franchise was watching my friens playthrough Requiem before this month.

Hi everyone!
I've loved the Resident Evil series since I was a kid. There are a lot of games in it, and unfortunately some of them are locked to their original consoles. I always liked Umbrella Chronicles and Darkside Chronicles, especially because they let you see your favorite locations and events from a different angle, in a 3D environment, have a great replayability, and also because it's just plain fun to shoot things in those sets. I enjoyed playing these games in the Dolphin emulator, but with a locked low FPS, not great performance and really awkward mouse controls. It always seemed strange to me that games so perfect for PC (looking at you, The House of the Dead) never came out on that platform.
Some time ago I started building a PC port of Umbrella Chronicles with AI. After a some time of work it has reached the point where I'm not ashamed to show it. The video above shows how it looks.
This is not emulation. The game's code is translated into a regular native Windows program, and uses Vulkan or DirectX 11 / DirectX 12 renderer for the graphics. That's why loading is very fast, and the frame rate is no longer stuck at 30 (it goes up to 240, or you can remove the limit entirely).
Aiming matters the most to me. The game feels really nice with a mouse, and the on-screen prompts show mouse and keyboard icons instead of Wii remote buttons (not every prompt atm). Every action can be rebound.
There's been work on the graphics too (Most features available only with Vulkan or DirectX 12): DLSS and FSR upscaling, frame generation (FSR works on any GPU), ray tracing (only ray-traced shadows atm), HDR, an improved bloom, ambient occlusion, SMAA. You can switch almost all of it right from the in-game menu.
There's also a launcher in 13 languages that updates the port by itself, mod support (yes, really) for almost everything (textures, models, audio, text, Lua and JS scripts, even native DLLs), and online co-op for two players. Co-op is still pretty rough and barely tested, so please don't expect too much from it yet.
A few honest notes:
- This is an early build. It's already quite playable, but I've only tested it on my own PC (RTX 4080, Ryzen 9 7950X), so a lot of you will probably run into bugs.
- There are no game files in the project and there never will be. You need your own copy of the game (NTSC-U), which you unpack yourself. The README explains how, step by step.
- For now it's Windows only, and you need a GPU with Vulkan 1.3 support.
- The project is open source (GPL-3.0), and anyone can take part in it.
- I'm not affiliated with Capcom or any other rights holder.
If you decide to give it a try, I'd really like to hear your feedback and how it went: bugs, ideas, anything. You can open an issue on GitHub.
GitHub: https://github.com/solleo95/reuc-recomp - you can find source code of the project, releases and installation guide. Latest release is here https://github.com/solleo95/reuc-recomp/releases/latest
Thanks for reading! And enjoy the game if you decide to try it.
P.S. Once Umbrella Chronicles is in good shape, I plan to start on Darkside Chronicles right away, and then most likely Dead Aim.
