Playtester [Recruiting Playtesters] A Dark Fantasy Action RPG with a Storybook Art Style

Hey everyone!

I'm an indie developer working on Bloodfyre Chronicles, a dark fantasy action RPG built in Godot.

Visually, the game draws inspiration from the toy-like, handcrafted aesthetic of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening remake, featuring colorful environments, stylized characters, and a detailed fantasy world.

But don't let the charming visuals fool you.

Bloodfyre Chronicles explores much darker themes as the story progresses, including corruption, death, kidnapping, mutilation, sinister cults, and the destruction of once-beautiful places.

The contrast between the world's appearance and the darkness consuming it is an intentional part of the experience.

The game features:

  • Real-time RPG combat and character progression
  • Exploration across handcrafted fantasy regions
  • A dragon companion and its progression
  • Powerful Divine Beasts tied to the world's story
  • An increasingly dark narrative involving corruption and sacrifice
  • Secrets, environmental storytelling, and challenging encounters

I'm currently looking for 5–10 dedicated playtesters.

I'm not looking for people to simply tell me the game looks good. I want honest, constructive criticism from players who enjoy analyzing gameplay and helping indie projects improve.

I'm particularly interested in feedback on combat, exploration, difficulty, progression, pacing, atmosphere, and how well the game's visual style supports its darker themes.

Initial sessions will be approximately 20–30 minutes, with a short feedback form afterward. Ideally, I'd like to find a few people willing to participate in ongoing testing as development continues.

This is an early-stage project, so expect unfinished systems, bugs, and significant changes.

If you're interested, comment or DM me with your favorite action RPGs and any previous playtesting experience.

I'm especially interested in hearing from players who appreciate dark fantasy, strong storytelling, and games that aren't afraid to take unexpected turns.

Unpaid Playtest [Browser, Unpaid] My browser based mmo-lite game that combines Minecraft, Runescape and Path of Exile needs testers

Playable Link: https://worldsalpha.com/play

Learn More on our Website: https://worldsalpha.com

Hey all!

I'm excited to introduce WORLDS - it's an MMO-lite game that runs in the browser and takes some of my favorite elements from Minecraft, Runescape and PoE and merges it into a casual adventure/rpg with heavy progression elements. I wanted a blocky game that scratched my itch for multiplayer, progression, and a non-boring grind element for mid/late game.

The gameplay of worlds is built around an idea I had of something called "Expeditions". Each gameplay session you set out on a new "expedition" to a 1024x1024 world that is randomly generated climate, features, biome, enemy encounters, bosses, and more. You loot and extract ores, material, whatever you're looking for or just explore. When you're done there's a "caravan" npc at the start of each expedition area, talk to him and he'll take you back to your camp. Your camp is your base/home, where you take your loot and gear you found out on each expedition to upgrade your home, upgrade your gear, improve your skills, and more - then set out on your next expedition. You can even encounter trapped travelers and people out on expeditions and invite them back to your camp for perks and other things over time.

There's boss elements as well, random encounters, a huge variety of unique things to discover, wildlife, and more.

The games skill system borrows heavy from Runescape, there's no single "level" system, instead each skill is improved by doing what's related to it. Mining increases mining skill, fishing is fishing, smelting ore is smelting etc - skill progression unlocks higher tier and better gear/perks for those relevant skill trees as you increase them over time.

You can also co-op with friends or hop in right away with strangers. Each time you set out for an expedition you can set your play mode to "open" which lets anyone join in when they go out on an expedition and adventure with you, or you can join up with anyone else on an expedition that is an open play mode. You can invite friends to co-op with you with simple invite codes and adventure/explore with parties up to 8 players.

Your skills, gear and progression are persistent and stick with your character. So if you go play with others, or friends, solo and with a group, you're working and improving the same character, your loot comes home with you, and your skills grow over time, etc.

The games still in alpha, so there's a lot of things to come - the main questline isn't done yet, but the game is quite enjoyable - a lot of our testers have plowed 50+ hours each into it the first week we gave it to them just because they enjoyed it, they weren't paid and had no incentives so that's a good sign we think!

It would mean so much to hear your feedback and what you think. You can play and create an account without an email or giving any info (just sign up using plain username + password when you play). If you want to keep your account for later you can add an email later to recover it, up to you!

Thanks everyone! Really looking forward to what you think, and again - this is in alpha! <3

P.S. This has been built by myself, and a really small team of modelers/contractors that have worked on the assets over the last 1+ years, art style and visuals are all credit to them!

You can play free here, no email or anything required - just make a username/password (no mobile support yet): https://worldsalpha.com

Unpaid Playtest [Android] RestaurantLoop – Looking for playtesters for my graduation project!

Hey everyone!

I'm looking for some playtesters for RestaurantLoop, a free Android puzzle game that my teammates and I originally developed during our internship.

I'm now using it as part of my university graduation project, researching how player behavior can help improve game UI/UX through machine learning.

About the game:

You serve customers by sending food stacks onto a conveyor belt, manage limited storage space, and use power-ups to solve increasingly challenging levels.

What I'm looking for:

  • Try the game for around 10–15 minutes (or longer if you enjoy it!).
  • Tell me if anything feels confusing or frustrating.
  • Let me know about bugs, unclear buttons, or difficulty spikes.
  • Share any suggestions for improving the user experience.

Important: This is an early prototype, so some levels may be buggy or impossible to complete. There's a Next Level button if you get stuck.

For my research, I'm also interested in collecting pseudonymous gameplay interaction data with players' permission. No account is required.

Download (Android APK): https://akalino.itch.io/restaurantloop

Any feedback is appreciated, especially criticism. I'm trying to understand what actually needs improvement.

Thanks for your time!

Unpaid Playtest How do you keep playtesters coming back every few days? (solo dev, 4-player co-op)Text:

I’m a solo dev working on a 4-player physics co-op game (getaway van, loot falls out, cops ram you). Last week I ran my first test with two strangers instead of friends, and a few things surprised me:

• They laughed most at things I never planned, like someone falling off the roof mid-sentence while proximity chat faded them out.
• 10-minute rounds were the sweet spot. Longer and the chaos got repetitive.
• Watching them play taught me more than any written feedback form.

My problem now: I build small updates every few days and need the same people to test them regularly, but one-off testers rarely come back.

For those who’ve done this: how did you build a small group of regular testers? Fixed schedule or flexible? Did you give them anything (credits, keys, a role)? How short do sessions need to be so people actually show up?

Unpaid Playtest Looking for Testers for a historic idle game

Hey guys, i an looking for a few more testers for my idle game, google denied production access the first time due to too few testers playing actively or providing feedback.

The game is called: Built in a day: Idle Rome, it has a focus on Rome's history, with actual people from an epoch being in the game, anecdotes and jokes, as I am a historian myself and love Roman History.

I would love to welcome you to the testers and my game and can really need some honest feedback.

Just join the google group and try it out!

Thank you so much❤️

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid] Fjordly – a cozy merge & story game for Android. Looking for 12+ testers for a 14-day Google Play closed test

Hi everyone!

I'm a small indie developer from Denmark, and my first game, **Fjordly**, is ready for its closed test on Google Play. Google requires at least 12 testers for 14 days before a new developer can publish, so I'd be really grateful for your help.

**What is Fjordly?**

Ella comes home to the harbour town she left ten years ago – and finds her mother's café burnt to the ground. You merge items on a board, serve the café's guests, and rebuild the town piece by piece, chapter by chapter. Between the orders there are short story scenes: gossip, family secrets and the question of who started the fire.

**What I'm asking for**

- An Android phone and a Gmail address

- Install the game and open it a few times during the 14 days (Google checks that testers actually use the app)

- Optional: tell me what you liked, what confused you, and anything that broke

**How to join**

  1. Send me a chat/DM with the Gmail address you use on your Android phone (please don't post it in the comments)

  2. I add you to the tester list and send you the opt-in link

  3. Open the link on your phone, tap "Become a tester", and install Fjordly from the Play Store

**Feedback:** reply here, DM me, or e-mail support@ny-xe.com. You can also send a note from inside the game: tap the screen three times quickly and hold on the third tap.

It's free, there are no forced ads, and the game can be played without spending anything. Thank you so much – every tester really helps! 🌊

Unpaid Playtest [PC/Steam] Looking for playtesters for my indie RPG – Free Steam keys!

• Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I'm a solo hobby developer working on Absorber Hero RPG, a little passion project I've been developing in my free time.

It's a single-player, run-based incremental RPG / auto-battler where you defeat monsters, absorb their stats, collect equipment, unlock transformations, and gradually grow stronger while exploring new areas.

The game was heavily inspired by games like Resolute Hero RPG, Zawia, and Absorber, along with a few other similar games. I really enjoyed their progression systems and wanted to create my own take on that style of gameplay.

I'm currently looking for some people who would like to try out the early version of the game on Steam!

What I'm looking for:

  • Anyone interested in giving the game a try – casual gamers are just as welcome as experienced RPG players!
  • Honest feedback about gameplay, balancing, progression, or anything you think could be improved.
  • Bug reports or suggestions are always appreciated!

The game is still in development, so there might be some bugs or rough edges here and there.

I'm not expecting anyone to write detailed reports or spend hours testing. I'm mostly just hoping some people will enjoy the game, and I'd love to hear what you think about it!

Steam page:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/5390840/Absorber_Hero_RPG/

Interested in trying it out?

Just join the Discord (https://discord.gg/JQ6GRFss63) and send me a DM or friend request on Discord (phipsi99) and I'll send you a free Steam key!

No strict deadlines or requirements – just play whenever you feel like it.

Thanks to anyone willing to give my little project a chance. I really appreciate it!

Unpaid Playtest Historical RPG Set Along the Roman Frontier

Hello everyone!

I'm an indie developer working on Limes Must Burn, a historical RPG inspired by the Roman frontier and the fall of the Raetian Limes.

The game features Roman and Germanic factions, diplomacy, settlements, buildings, and recruitment. I'm currently looking for players willing to try an early build and help me make the game better.

I'm looking for a handful of testers willing to: i) Play the current build and explore its mechanics. ii) Report any bugs or confusing features. iii) Share opinions about what works and what could be improved.

The game is still in development, so expect rough edges! No previous experience with historical RPGs is required.

Hi! I’m developing ChessUniverse, an Android chess game with offline play, an AI opponent, difficulty settings, and saved games.

• Bugs or confusing screens.

This is an unpaid volunteer test. No purchase is required, and there is no obligation to exchange app tests.

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid, ~20 min] Looking for 10 first-time Fortigon testers — tower defense + first-person combat

I'm Fortigon's creator, and I'm looking for about 10 people who haven't played it to test the opening and give honest feedback. This is an unpaid, voluntary playtest; no purchase is required. The full game is paid, but this request is only for the free demo.

Fortigon combines tower defense with first-person combat: build and upgrade towers from above, then deploy a commander and fight alongside your defenses. The demo has one 15-wave map, all 10 tower types, and Vanguard or Artificer. You can test solo or with up to three friends.

Platforms: Windows, Linux, macOS and Android. Download/install required; it is not a browser game.

Time: about 20 minutes. You don't need to finish the map, and stopping early is useful feedback too.

Download the free demo — scroll to Download demo.

I'm especially interested in:

  1. Where did you first feel confused, frustrated or bored?
  2. Did fighting as the commander feel useful alongside the towers?
  3. Would you play another run? Why or why not?

Please reply in this thread with your platform, whether you played solo/co-op, and a few honest impressions. Screenshots or recordings are optional. No Discord signup or email is needed to give feedback. In-game analytics is optional and can be declined.

Development disclosure: made in Godot with AI-assisted development. Critical feedback is welcome; I'm trying to learn what needs improving.

Unpaid Playtest Looking for beta testers for Thornwake, a free dark-fantasy idle RPG (Android APK + browser)

Hey everyone! I'm a solo dev building Thornwake, an idle hunting RPG set in the Briar, a forest kingdom swallowed by thorns. It's playable now, and I'm looking for beta testers to help me find bugs, balance the game and polish it before a wider launch.

What it is

4 classes, 8 specs: Vanguard (tank), Warden (fast archer with blind/miss/paralyze), Thornseer (spells and nature) and Gravecaller (death magic). Each has two specs, a talent tree and its own look.

Idle hunting with real decisions: hunt in the background, then make choices with your gear, sockets, gems, sigils and relics.

33 zones across 3 realms, plus a story campaign (Act I) with painted chapters and characters.

7 dungeons, each with a Hard mode: a second, much tougher run with better loot.

Beasts and mounts to hatch, level, star up and gear, each with its own animated art.

Multiplayer: clans, Arena PvP with ranks, daily bosses and a server-wide raid boss, plus live events.

Free to play, with optional purchases. Daily chests are earned by playing, not by watching ads.

Where to play

Learn more at https://thornwake.app/welcome

🌐 Browser (any phone or PC, including iPhone):

https://thornwake.app

🤖 Android APK: https://thornwake.app/Thornwake.apk (allow "install from unknown sources" when Android asks)

💬 Discord (bug reports, feedback, patch notes): https://discord.gg/wpKGZBFZMD

What I'd love help with

Bugs: anything broken, stuck, confusing or wrong. Screenshots help a ton.

Balance: is anything too easy, too grindy or too generous (energy, bosses, dungeons, gear)?

UI and feel: does it look good and read well on your phone? What's hard to find?

First impressions: what hooked you, and what made you want to stop?

Post reports in the Discord's #bug-reports channel. I read everything and push fixes often, sometimes the same day. Early testers have already helped shape the dungeons, the leaderboards and the shop.

Thanks for checking it out! Happy to answer questions in the comments. 🌿

Unpaid Playtest [Recruiting] Agewalker — a city builder where you walk your own town as its mayor (Windows/Mac, 30–60 min)

Hi! I'm a solo developer looking for 10 playtesters for Agewalker, a 3D city builder with a twist: you plan the town from above, then press Tab and walk through it as the mayor — collecting taxes door to door, gathering ideas from thinkers and opening new research.

What's in the playtest: the first two epochs — the Stone Age and Sumer (clay and copper, a bronze smelter, a tavern and the ziggurat). Windows and macOS (the Mac build is signed and notarized), English plus 8 more languages.

What I'd love from you: play 30–60 minutes and fill in a short 5-question form (it's linked on the game page). I'm most interested in where you got confused or bored, and whether walking the town as the mayor feels fun or like a chore.

How to get in: comment here or send me a DM, and I'll message you a personal itch.io key. If you play city builders (Anno, Banished, Manor Lords, Pharaoh…), please mention which ones.

In the spirit of honesty: I build the game with heavy AI assistance for code, text and translations. There are no AI-generated images or voices — the 3D models are built from code, and the sounds are synthesized.

Short gameplay teaser (25 s): https://www.reddit.com/user/from_makondo/comments/1xh67sr/agewalker_playtest_teaser_stone_age_sumer/

**How to get in:** fill in a 1-minute form and your personal itch.io key arrives by email right away: sign up here (30 keys in this wave). If you play city builders (Anno, Banished, Manor Lords, Pharaoh…), the form asks which ones.

Thanks for reading!

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid Playtest] Beyond 90: A Footballer's Life, free demo of a 2D pixel art football career game (Windows adn Mac)

Hi all, looking for playtesters for the free demo of my football game, Beyond 90: A Footballer's Life.

About the game: a 2D pixel art football career RPG inspired by Sensible Soccer. You play one footballer from age 16 until retirement and you only control yourself, never the team or the tactics. Matches are real time, and between matches you train, manage your contract and deal with life off the pitch.

What I'd like feedback on:
- Crashes, freezes or anything that breaks
- Match controls and whether they feel good
- Confusing menus or unclear instructions
- Translation mistakes (the game has 13 languages)
- Anything that felt boring, unfair or unclear

How to give feedback: just reply in the comments, or join the Discord if you prefer or on Steam Forum section.

Even a one-line "it froze when I did this" helps a lot.

Free demo on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5451430/Beyond_90_A_Footballers_Life_Demo/

Thank you!

Unpaid Playtest [Web, Unpaid, 18+] Dune Covenant: test the tutorial and playing with friends — apply by 15 Nov

• Upvotes

Playable free browser build: https://dunecovenant.com/

I'm an independent developer in the UAE making Dune Covenant, an original hidden-allegiance card game. I need honest first-time testing, especially from Middle East players using English or Arabic. Beginners are welcome; Chinese is also supported.

Could you try these three things?

  1. Start the tutorial: is choosing a card, reading its effect, selecting a target and confirming clear? Can you tell when you are playing versus discarding?
  2. On a phone, try landscape: are your cards and response buttons readable and reachable?
  3. If a friend wants to join, try a private table and continue together for another round. Friends are optional.

Set aside about 15–20 minutes if convenient; you can stop whenever you want. A short description of one confusing moment is useful. Please include your device/browser, steps, what you expected and what happened.

Adults 18+, unpaid and voluntary. Apply by 15 November 2026, 23:59 Dubai time (UTC+4). The email template and full English/Arabic details are here: https://zifeixi-wq.itch.io/dune-covenant/devlog/1735370/playtest-applications-close-15-nov-15-

The public web build is available without applying. Android invitations are separate and are not yet guaranteed for applicants.

A verified major issue or a useful suggestion we explicitly accept qualifies for one exclusive contributor cosmetic at a future official launch. Participation alone does not. Physical cards are only a possible future recognition if produced; no guaranteed production or delivery. No purchase, referral or positive review is required.

Disclosure: development uses AI-assisted code/writing and generated character art. Casual empty seats can be computer-controlled. Private tables do not grant public progression or ranked points. Honest criticism is welcome.

Unpaid Playtest Adult iPhone/iPad testers wanted for Sofio’s first recording and find-it flow (unpaid)

• Upvotes

Hi, I'm Ricardo. I built Sofio for my daughter because I wanted her to learn words hearing my voice. I'm looking for adult iPhone/iPad users to try the recording and play flow and tell me where it gets confusing.

It's an already released preschool picture game. Please add a few animal names and find-it clues, then try EXPLORE and FIND IT. Is it clear what to record, and how to start playing afterward? The menus are in English; your recordings can be in any language.

This is an unpaid test. Farm Animals and Vehicles are free and enough for this test. Five other worlds are optional one-time purchases. No ads or subscriptions. Children don't need to take part.

Feedback here in the comments is perfect; no form or recording to send me.

I'm the developer.

Unpaid Playtest Seeking feedback on Late Night Convenience Store — free browser demo and Android test

Hi! I’m the developer of Late Night Convenience Store, a choice-driven story game set in a small store after midnight. I’m looking for independent players to test either version and share honest feedback. The game supports English and Simplified Chinese; you can switch languages in the settings. This is a free, unpaid playtest with no rewards.

Browser demo: Play the first night directly on desktop at the link below. No download, itch.io account, or key is needed.

Android test: The current APK covers three nights (v0.1.0, Android versionCode 14). It requires an individual itch.io download key and a free itch.io account to claim it. If you would like to test the Android build, please mention “Android” in your reply; I’ll follow up if a key is available. The stated minimum is Android 7.1. Compatibility across devices is still being tested.

You can stop at any point and tell me where you got stuck. I’d especially like to know:

- Were you able to start playing? If not, what happened?

- What was the first confusing action, dialogue choice, or screen?

- How far did you play, and what is one thing you would change?

Play the browser demo or view the Android test page:

https://yunfeiliu1986.itch.io/late-night-convenience-store

Please reply here with your feedback and say which version you played. You don’t need to finish the game, and a positive review is not expected. Thanks for helping me test it!

Unpaid Playtest I'm looking for fans of online RPGs and survival games to test my iPhone game

Hi everyone!
I’m Fran from Spain a solo indie developer behind Relic Survivor, a mobile RPG I’ve been working on for around a year.
The game mixes survival gameplay with RPG progression, different heroes and builds, bosses, equipment and multiplayer systems. I’m also working on real-time PvP, cooperative content, clans, rankings, player trading and a seasonal story that will continue expanding the world over time.
The basic gameplay is simple: you control your hero, attacks are automatic, you defeat enemies, collect essence, level up and build combinations of abilities while trying to survive increasingly difficult situations.
The game is still in development, so I’m mainly posting here because I need people who haven’t seen it before to try it and give me honest feedback.
I’m particularly interested in hearing about:
whether the first few minutes are fun
controls and movement
progression and abilities
difficulty and balancing
anything confusing
bugs or crashes
what would make you want to play another run
Please don’t worry about being negative. If something is boring, unclear or simply doesn’t feel good, that’s exactly the kind of feedback I need.
Playable Link:
https://testflight.apple.com/join/u9Y6bUDR
Platform: iOS / TestFlight
Price: Free beta
My involvement:
I’m the developer and creator of Relic Survivor. I work on the overall game design, gameplay systems, progression, maps, multiplayer direction, characters and the general development of the project.
The beta currently has a limited number of TestFlight spots.
Website if you’d like to see more about the project:
https://relicsurvivors.com
Thanks a lot to anyone who takes the time to try it. Even 10–15 minutes of gameplay and a short comment about what you liked or disliked would genuinely help me.

This is a quick unpaid playtest. You don’t need to play for long – just download it, try the core loop, and see how it feels.

It’s a closed Google Play beta, so you’ll need to send me your email so I can add you and send the invite link. Drop it in the comments or DM.

Feedback is easy – there’s an in-game form you can use anytime if you want to share thoughts. No pressure, just testing it out is already helpful.

Android only. Thanks!
