I've been collecting Machamp for years, but I've recently started properly documenting the collection publicly.

My goal is simple: to build the strongest and most comprehensive dedicated Machamp collection in the UK.

At the moment I have at least 95 documented Machamp cards/items, ranging from normal set releases all the way through to prototypes, STAFF cards, obscure Japanese exclusives, tournament releases and sealed vintage variants.

The centrepiece is my:

This is the extremely limited English-front/Japanese-back Sample Machamp produced during the e-Reader demonstration era. It sits outside virtually every normal Machamp master-set checklist and is one of the hardest Machamp cards to obtain.

One area I'm particularly proud of is my English Base Set collection.

Alongside those are additional raw and graded Base Set variants.

The collection isn't restricted to standard English releases. I'm trying to cover the strange stuff too — Japanese exclusives, tournament cards, STAFF stamps, prereleases, regional releases, unusual foils, promos and cards that aren't normally included in a conventional Machamp master set.

I've looked through the major publicly visible Machamp collections and grading registries and, so far, I haven't been able to identify another UK-based collector with a larger publicly documented specialist Machamp collection.

So I'm putting the collection out there publicly:

I'm deliberately saying publicly documented because there could obviously be an incredible private collection somewhere that nobody knows about.

And if there is another UK Machamp collector with a bigger one, I'd genuinely love to see it.

This isn't meant to be the end of the collection either.

This post is an update to the one I made almost seven months ago. To reiterate, I am collecting every Chimchar, Monferno, and Infernape ever printed, in every available language.

Now for the statistics of this hunt. I am at 405/674 (60%) in overall completion, and two languages are fully complete.

This is my personal collection, The very first pic are my all time favorites cards that I prefer having in toploaders :))

(Could only post 20 pictures) - started by completing base set 2 in early 2025, and directly after I completed team rocket. And recently I’ve been trying to complete the Vending series (aka Expansion sheets). I wish I discovered that set before, the cards are literally ALL beautiful. I’ve never seen a set have literally 100% of the cards be either beautiful, funny, whimsy, cute or goofy all in one.

As everybody knows the prices now are just insane, and recently a YouTuber made a video about him trying to complete this set in Japan and although the video is great, it clearly made the cards a bit more expensive lately 🫠

Thankfully I completed base set 2 and team rocket at a moment where people were more focused on modern cards.

The other cards are some (I couldn’t upload more than 20 pages …) of my favorite miscellaneous cards, from every era. Nothing is graded and it’s such a blast to open the binder like, once a week, just to enjoy looking at all of them :)

I’d love to see your guys’ collections , if it matches the style I like or even if it’s completely different !

Finally getting around to showing my English “Chu” master set of cards that could be pulled from packs, plus a few promos. Around 93% complete, and all NM/LP. (Couldn’t fit all in pics.) Some missing from binder are separate and graded. Been collecting these since around 2013, but throwing in the towel due to the prices of the remaining cards. It was a fun run, though!

What do y’all think this would grade?

Just was appreciating these and thought some of y'all might like seeing it.

I've been collecting cards for over a year and playing the TCG for about two months now, and I finally had the opportunity to participate in a prerelease event and got this in either my second or third pack while trying to build my deck :D

I know a lot of people don't really like the mega hyper rare cards, but I really enjoy the Rayquaza, and I'm super happy to get this and have it in my collection >_<

I'll be keeping this one for sure with how special it is to me

​I’ll be traveling to NYC soon and I’m looking for recommendations on local TCG shops. I’m strictly a collector, not a player nor an investor, so I'm not really interested in places that focus on sealed product.

​I really want to hunt for singles, specifically gen 3 cards since that's what I collect (although my GF collects cute pokemon in general). I would like to find especially vintage and mid-era stuff. Japanese cards are greatly appreciated as well.

​Does anyone know any hidden gems in NY where I can dig through singles boxes or binders with these kinds of cards? For reference we will be staying really close to Times Square.

so far there are 60 exclusively Gen 2 Pokemon that have some form of full card art. technically its 57 but I got to 60 by counting the Igglybuff/Cleffa/Togepi Tag Team to count for 3 pokemon and Great Tusk to substitute for Donphan. I had to be much more lenient with my criteria since Gen 2 simply does not have enough cards. i am now at 50/60

Im very happy with finally getting the Lugia now. Its the most expensive card in my PC by far, and i would never pay that much again for some shiny cardboard. even if i wasnt doing a master set i would have still gotten it though. IMO the artwork is better than Aquapolis or Neo Genesis Lugia.

it is such a great contrast with the Ho-oh. ones light, the other dark. both looking back at the trainer below. Ho-oh being the blessing, Lugia being the calamity.

Im one step closer to finishing the set now that i have passed my biggest hurdle :)

Picked up a S-Chinese 30th Anniversary box (20 packs) to keep building a long-term card collection that I can pass down to my 4-year-old daughter when she gets older. Figure it’d be awesome for us to look back on years down the road.

Was super hyped when this Magikarp SAR popped out! The texture and gold foil in person are insane. Also managed to land the Greninja SARand Gengar ex.

Already got these in heavy protection to keep them clean for her. Hope she loves them when she grows up!
