So proud of my wife, Timi, who received a scholarship from her company for the General Management Program at Harvard Business School!

For the past three months, she’s been attending classes online while juggling her work and family life. Ngayon, nandito na siya sa Harvard to complete the final part of her program on campus, together with classmates from around the world.

Siyempre, proud na proud kaming lahat sa kanya. Pati pamilya at mga kaibigan, may pa-tarpaulin pa! 😂

Neither of us pursued graduate studies, kaya malaking bagay sa amin ang ganitong pagkakataon na patuloy na matuto, makakilala ng mga tao mula sa iba’t ibang panig ng mundo, at makakuha ng fresh ideas and perspectives.

What makes me even prouder is seeing Timi continue to pursue her dreams while doing so much for our family. I’ve always admired her drive and determination to keep learning and growing.

Ang saya na after all these years, we still get to see each other grow, pursue new endeavors, and discover new things. Nakaka in love seeing her take on these new challenges 😍

Of course, mamimiss ko siya habang tinatapos niya ang program niya sa Harvard. This will be the longest we’ll be apart.

I’m 31F, and lately, I’ve realized how much I enjoy my own company. I love going to cafés, shopping, eating out, and driving around alone. I genuinely feel happier and more at peace.

The thing is, I’ve noticed that spending time with family or friends sometimes leaves me feeling more drained than fulfilled.

For example, when I go out with my mom, even simple plans can become frustrating. If I suggest trying a new restaurant, she’ll bring up parking or say she doesn’t like the food. When shopping, I like taking my time browsing stores but she gets impatient sometimes, making me feel rushed. Sometimes, I end up wishing I’d gone alone.

With a longtime friend, it’s different. I often feel emotionally and intellectually unmet. When I enthusiastically share something, her responses can feel dismissive or surface-level. When I ask for her perspective, she’ll say she hasn’t experienced it herself. Sometimes, when I open up, I get unsolicited advice instead of an actual conversation.
I don’t think they’re bad people, and I still love and appreciate them. But I’ve realized that being alone often feels more fulfilling than being in company where I have to constantly adjust or feel misunderstood.

I still want meaningful companionship. I just don’t want to sacrifice the peace I’ve found in solitude.

Anyone else experiencing this in their 30s?

medical technologist ako dati sa public hospital, i only worked there briefly there kasi toxic talaga (hindi yung job, pero yung colleagues, you know the usual politicking) and hindi lang gamot yung madalas mag-expire pati mga reagents din.

what are reagents? in layman’s terms essential “ingredient” sila sa laboratory tests. kaya madalas makikita niyo may mga certain tests na hindi available sa public hospital since “walang reagent” for that test, or mas mahal ang isang test compared to the other kasi mahal din yung reagent na ginagamit sa kanya.

anyways, may isang kilalang public hospital na mahilig mag hoard ng reagents. di siya available for normal / OPD patients pero nakatago pala. you know what, understandable pa kung ginagawa yon dahil sinisave for critical patients eh, pero ang kakapal ng mukha, pag kamag anak nila biglang available na yung test, basta magdrodrop by lang sa laboratory. yes, drop by. hindi na pipila sa OPD para makuhanan ng dugo, diretso lab na at STAT pa.

minsan nga hindi lang kamag anak ang nagbebenefit, kahit kakilala lang nila special treatment na. it’s so wrong on different levels. gets kapag yung medtech themselves ang nangangailangan mag patest (kasi exposed sila sa hazards lalo na sa needlestick injury) pero the routine labs of family members and friends? abuso na yarn.

The influx of posts in social media (Reddit, Tiktok, or Facebook) with regionalist themes have seriously unnerved me ngl. What's concerning is that many online seem to subscribe to such toxic mentalities.

I cannot count on my hands how many discriminatory posts I've seen online. Always the same taglines of being derogatory towards those who are Tagalog, Bisaya, etcetera.

All I can say is that these kinds of posts—while often humorous—are only sowing further divide between us all Filipinos. Whether the post is targeted towards those who are Tagalog or Bisaya isn't the most important aspect of this issue—it's the divide that would stem from it.

Like what I've done every time I see these kinds of posts, I encourage y'all to report these too.

At the end of the day, we are all Filipinos, and subscribing to these kinds of content will only fracture our society.

Saw this layout at the Parole Office of the New Antipolo Hall of Justice today as they celebrate Halloween with 200 kids trick-or-treating.

The NPC(National Privacy Commission) asked Bir to explain the seal badge revealing the name of the content creator/online seller. Baka daw ang defense ng Bir is "to protect the consumer" by revealing the name of the content creator/online seller so the complainant/consumer knows who to file their complaint against.

Napa lol lang ako sa nabasa kong article I could not fathom the absurdity of this to be honest. Is there really no other way to know the personality behind the service or business if a consumer wants to file a complaint? Really? No other solution than to risk the safety of the content creator/online seller because we cannot think of any other way to solve this problem other than to publish their names for the world to see?

I mean come on. It's almost unbelievable that no one can think of a solution. I'm not even an expert but if consumer protection via the seal badge is now part of the Bir's mandate, then hear me out:

The seal badge being posted is already proof that the content creator/online seller has been captured. The bir has their details. If no one on earth knows where or how to find the name of the content creator/online seller then how about inform the public to reach out to Bir if they want to file a complaint against a content creator/online seller by sending a screenshot of the seal badge.

Once bir receives a formal complaint from a consumer, it is important to note that protecting the content creator or online seller's privacy and safety is a critical consideration hence the formal complaint must be verified first by the bir(hindi naman po basta basta nalang ilalapastangan natin ang privacy, safety, and human rights ng ating mga taxpayer tao rin po sila tulad ng complainant). Just imagine if the complaint is not verified, parang nagpapa uto ang bir kung kani kanino based on tsismis at based on an unverified or unvetted complaint eh i violate ang safety, privacy, and human right ng isang tao by giving away their private information to a perfect stranger?

Proper due process generally dictates that the party being complained against(the content creator/online seller) should be notified of the allegations and given an opportunity to respond before any of their personal details or the identity are disclosed to the complainant.

Only after receiving the response from the content creator/online seller, shall the Bir decide if it will give the personal information of the content creator/online seller to the complainant. If the Bir decides to provide the name and address of the content creator/online seller to the complainant, then the Bir must also give the full name and address of the complainant to the content creator/online seller to ensure that both sides have access to details for legal purposes. The accused has a right to know their accuser.

Implementing this process upholds due process, protects privacy, and guarantees fairness for both parties involved in the complaint.

From Philippines to Vietnam po ang travel.

So bale, I’m a new grad (july) and newly passed nurse (sept). Naka book na po kami nung august kasi graduation gift daw po saakin. First time ko po mag travel and dami nila sinasabi na baka ma “offload” daw ako sa Immigration since baka isipin dun na ako mag hanap work at red flag daw sa immig kapag newly passed etc.

And also, since I’m unemployed pa i still have ongoing debts sa credit card (but palagi naman ako nag papay ng minimum amount) and planning to make loan sana sa Shopee since medj kulang pa budget ko for vietnam (Unemployed pa po talaga at libre lang po ako ng kasama ko) Madedetect po ba nila yun?
