I have searched the subreddit and looked over the rules and haven’t been able to find an answer.
I haven’t taken the best care of my brushes since I got them a few years ago. No matter how much I wash them now (past few months), I can’t get them to back to what they should look like. Or even close. Could this impact how I’m painting or should I just not worry and keep going?
Edit to add: I’m using Oils

What I'm working on: grouping values into 3-4 tones / 11 tones and 8 light and shadow shapes / edges
Reference: master study, attached
Software/time spent: 45 mins per drawing clip studio paint
What I'm unsure about: mainly about my values and the blending being still quite muddy
Any feedback is really appreciated, including blunt feedback. Thanks for taking the time!

Here's my first abstract from 2014, and the 2 that I just completed last week and the week before last. I'm not a fan of making abstract paintings, but it's ok, at some point everyone that has painted, probably made at least one of these. For the last 2, the middle one was the original piece, and I had to make thumbnails from it and use one of those to create a whole different painting. I had one that I made before the first one, but I didn't like how it came out, so it sat beside my bed for 2 years, before I made an executive decision to destroy it.

I've been working on this in peices over the last few months (10-15m at a time). The grass isn't finished at all. It is my hedgehogs (middle one face is annoying me)Today I did the clouds. I really like the cumulus clouds but I am not so happy about the sirus ones. What am I doing wrong? No real formal painting (unless Bob Ross on Saturday am with my mom as a kid counts)

This painting represents triumph and self confidence. I made this painting to make us all feel unstoppable.
😤🔥💪🏼
It’s depicting my character Ahmed in his most confident moment of flexing his abilities as the alchemist. He’s channeling his inner abilities and striking a strong pose with his blue flame fist technique.
This painting is inspired by those days where you feel at your best or speaking strength and confidence into existence. This piece is inspired by that victory pose that Street Fighter characters have after a win.
Does this piece make you feel powerful? #feelingstrong #feelinggood #feelingpowerful

Help! Canvas painting doesn’t fit frame?
Hello, I ordered a frame (online) but the clips they sent me do not fit with my canvas. Although I told them I would be using a stretched canvas.
How can I get this canvas painting to fit into the frame? I would prefer if I didn’t have to screw into anything.

A momento mori painting of a deceased Morpho butterfly I photographed on a mossy rock by a stream in Costa Rica. I used interference blue paint because its blue color is made by a similar physical process to the real life color of the butterfly.

Getting around to finishing some things that have been sitting for a while, usually I’ll just make a mess and figure out what it’s going to be later

Biomorphic impressionist painting of the Mt Fuji and the Lawson store.
I’ve noticed that it’s a challenge to recreate architectural and manmade elements in the organic style, but very rewarding when I’m able to achieve the likeness

Saw a cute video of this dog being aggressive in a nun costume and had to paint it. For reference purposes and not promotion, The handle of the dog video is jujuepituca. I don’t personally know the dog or owner.

I’ve added more details to the water and tried rendering parts of the bear. How does it look now? What can I do to improve the water?
Note: some parts of the water near the edges still aren’t rendered yet so don’t pay attention to those
