Monthly Motivation Thread NoFap's "Onward October" or "PMO-Free October" 2026 - continue or begin your PMO-Free journey here (see instructions).
Hello all,
It's that time of the month again! One month is ending, and another is beginning. We hope you've had a good month. But if you haven't, now is a great time to refocus and rededicate yourself to recovery. This is your opportunity to create the new porn-free you!
This month's theme is "onward". Always looking forward, doing something every day to direct your steps in a positive direction, towards your version of sexual health and the person you want to be. Yes, many times we fail and it feels like we take a step backward. That will happen. What's important is that we are facing the right direction and continuing to push ourselves forward, despite the setbacks. Keep moving onward, everyone.
New to NoFap and rebooting? Here are some suggestions:
- Learn about the website, porn addiction, excessive masturbation, sexual compulsivity, and abstaining from PMO. Read through NoFap's main website to get informed.
- Read about the basics of rebooting here. Rebooting is the abstinence from certain sexual behaviors to recover from pornography addiction. Read about how porn addiction develops here. Some people go beyond rebooting and into the territory of retention, or sexual transmutation for periods of time, although that is not the main purpose of this subreddit (which is RECOVERY).
- Consider reading through the free Getting Started PDF from NoFap's website.
- Download NoFap's in-browser panic button extension that blocks NSFW subreddits too. Download here
- Decide if rebooting is something that you really want. If you don't buy into the process 100%, you'll probably not make it through the month. If you have decided that you would like to participate, proceed to the next point.
- Sign up for this month by replying to this submission. It is that simple. State your intention and stick to it!
- Consider setting up a day counter badge to track your progress.
- Ask questions and get support by posting on NoFap. Set a goal to remain accountable by making a post daily. Help others. Come here every day and participate.
- If you need additional support, you can get an accountability partner and document your progress in a daily rebooting journal.
Would you like to participate? If so, please reply to this thread with the following information.
- Are you not going to allow yourself to masturbate? View porn? Orgasm whatsoever? Not allowing any outlet for sexual release is called "hard mode".
- How long do you want this challenge to last? By default it is one month, but 90 days is recommended for rebooting.
- What are your goals?
- Why are you doing this?
Arriving late? (past the first of the month?)
It's okay! Still state your intentions and don't postpone rebooting based on the day of the month. People can join in at any time to participate.

Mod Note: We suggest NOT USING REDDIT'S DIRECT MESSAGES due to porn trolls trying to disrupt the community. Also, please note that some posts are temporarily removed prior to appearing on r/NoFap.
Hello r/NoFap community members,
Please note that we highly suggest that you avoid using the Reddit direct messaging system entirely, due to porn trolls coming here to disrupt our porn addiction recovery peer support community. Some of these people pretend to be helpful at first, then will message pornography. It's in a similar vein to how a forum on epilepsy was reportedly hacked to display seizure-inducing images.
You can disable direct messages in your Reddit settings by changing "Who can send you chat requests" to "Nobody."
Secondly, please note that sometimes posts are flagged automatically for manual review prior to appearing on r/NoFap.
Due to Reddit’s anti-spam filters and NoFap’s additional filters to control spam and pornography, sometimes genuine posts are flagged as potential spam or pornography. Further, entities within the legacy porn industry have been attempting to de-platform porn addiction recovery forums such as r/NoFap, and we must remain extra vigilant to ensure that rule-breaking posts do not appear on the platform for even one second. If your post gets flagged, please just wait for a moderator to approve it.
Thanks for reading :-)

Day 8 – Wet Dream Update
Day 8 of NoFap! I had a wet dream last night and noticed quite a lot of semen. There was more semen than I expected, and it made me realize how my body is reacting during this journey. Even though I released semen during sleep, it was involuntary and not a relapse. I’m staying strong, keeping my discipline, and pushing forward. Day 8 complete! 💪

40 Days of NoFap, but My Libido and Erections Are Still Gone
I'm 26M and currently on day 40 of NoFap. I haven't masturbated for the past 40 days, but I'm still struggling with extremely low libido and weak erections.
Before even thinking about a girl or imagining something sexual could give me an erection. Now, even if I think about sexual things or see nude content, I barely feel any sexual excitement or physical response.
Sometimes I get an erection, but it's much weaker than before. I'm honestly worried because I don't know when things improve.
I had a masturbation habit for around 5–6 years, sometimes doing it multiple times a day. I decided to stop, hoping things would improve, but after 40 days, I'm still experiencing these issues.
I'd really appreciate hearing from people who've genuinely experienced this. I'm looking for realistic advice because this situation is affecting my confidence and worrying me a lot.

Motivate Me I lost my streak
Today I lost my 26-day streak…. I did it twice times. I used to masturbate every day. Later, I started taking 5-day breaks. Now, I’ve managed to reach my longest break yet—26 days. Has all my progress been lost?? I don’t feel any overwhelming sense of guilt; I know that starting tomorrow I won’t do it again—though the question is, for how long?
Motivate Me I (28f) am unironically tempted to attempt NNN
I'm gonna start this off by saying that I'm addicted to getting myself worked up and in the mood. Daydreaming, looking at pictures of individuals I find hot, reading erotic stories online, and listening to music that spurs on all of these feelings...
Anyways, this can steal hours out of my day, and once I finally get myself off, I feel deep regrets. It makes me feel like I'm a slave to my libido. I could be doing so much more with my life.
I want to make some deliberate changes. NNN is a firm goal, it's something to hold me accountable. I'm sharing this on here because this is obviously something I wouldn't open up about and share with friends and family. I'm sure many of you are on the same boat. Have any of you had fruitful success in regards to suddenly going cold turkey with entertaining your sex drive?

Journal Check-In Day 9
Had really bad urges yesterday but made it through ❤️

Motivate Me I don't want to quit, but I have no hope.
Today marks the beginning of my 3rd week of quitting porn and masturbation cold turkey. I keep hearing that 2 weeks is one of the hardest milestones to hit, and that I should start seeing mental improvements around this time.
Problem is, I don't feel it. In fact, I just want to watch porn more with every passing moment. It's all I think about now. Today, some people remarked on how insane I looked because I was staring off wide-eyed into space. They thought it was funny, but I was genuinely losing my shit and unable to focus on anything besides trying to get my mind off of porn.
Do I have to wait longer? Is there some kind of self-improvement or mind-cleansing I should be doing? I can't resist much longer. I know it.

Question Is it worth to keep pushing?
I'm currently 22 days in. I'm not doing so bad, just mood and derelization and energy problems (mild ish flatline) , but it's just an extra stressor for me right now. The problem is if this delays and furthermore stresses my body.
I'm wondering if I should keep pushing or not. I was just starting to feel better this month after quitting weed and alcohol alongside with zyns 2 months ago. Then like 5 weeks later I begun nofap. I still use zyns because I know quitting too many things at once is too much. It acts as a dopamine crutch for me now whilst I'm healing from weed, alcohol, and pmo simultaneously.
Since I hit 3 weeks already on nofap, should I just keep pushing?
I have dysautonomia and nofap does seem to add more stress but at the same time I feel better on it. I'd hate for the last 3 weeks to be in vain if I chose to relapse. It normally takes 4 months for me to feel normal after abusing substances while chronically burned out but I'm halfway there and 3 weeks so far on nofap. I'm not sure if it was wise to start nofap. But I do seek a speedy recovery and healthy choices, even if it adds more pain, just not too much though.

I am doing this
what I actually mean by I am doing this is, I didn't fapped since 10 days and didn't even watch explicit content, so I will not be fapping onwards and win this

Day 36
I dreamt of sex stuff again, clipping my nails with a poorly made clipper to redacted a girl who works at a self deletion hotline call centre. She is a sadist who once sent me an unsolicited pic of her bf sleeping in his bday suit. I didn’t wet dream though. One of my challenges is going well . The other, not so much. Im starting the day with heavy food, I could mitigate it by drinking water, but I plainly dont want to. Im out of the alcohol hangover. I don’t desire weed. Relapse seems a good idea to some extent.

Journal Check-In Day 7
Today is one week clean. Feeling a bit groggy and tired. More anxious than usual. Seasons changing though, so that may be to blame partially.
I feel more on edge. But to be honest, I’m not even dying to look at pics and vids and stuff. Maybe it’s just work and school stress… I don’t know.
Overall, I think I’m okay. But I do think about checking in on certain subreddits at times.
I’ve got this. Feel free to leave a good note or DM if you wanna chat about anything.
No fap and physical health.
