Morrowind Modding Legacy - The Official Home of the Modjams

The Themes Have Been Announced! Modders have until August 24th at 00:00 UTC to submit a mod using one (or more) of the following themes: Arcane Arts, Forgotten Lore, Strange Families.

It's Summer time, and with the heat, and the humidity, comes another exciting round of the Morrowind Modjams! For the tenth time since 2020, Danae and Morrowind Modding Showcases is hosting a Modjam Modding Competition, a 48-hour modding frenzy where modders get but a single weekend to build the best mod they can using specific themes before time runs out!

The competition begins on August 21st at 11pm UTC with an official livestream kickoff by Danae, in which the potential themes will be revealed and voted on by the community, narrowing down the potential field until just three themes remain.

Once the final three themes have been announced, modders will have 48-hours to build and release the best mod they can utilizing any of those three themes, or a combo of themes if they so choose.

Rules & Guidelines:

  • Create your mod during the Modjam.,
  • Modders' resources are allowed.,
  • The use of AI is not forbidden, but should be disclosed.
  • Previous projects can be a source of inspiration, but please try to make something new for the event.
  • Most importantly, this is intended to be a friendly community event. Please focus on having fun and making something you enjoy.

Participation:

The competition is open to anyone and everyone looking to participate! All you need to do is release a mod with one of the themes (or multiple) during the competition time period using the official 2026 Summer Modjam header. Also wouldn't hurt to use the Modjams tag on the Nexus.

This is a Morrowind Modding Community - Discord Server event, so to make sure your mod is properly tracked for the competition, please join the server and tag it in the Published Mods channel!

There's also an official Modjam channel on there where you can keep up with all of the latest Modjam news!

Don't forget to check out the Resources page for any tutorials, frameworks, or utilities you might need!

Use the Postcard Editor:

Take advantage of the Morrowind Modjams website and the Postcard Editor to make special themed promo screenshots for your mod pages - give them that extra splash of Summer fun!

Judging and Prizes:

The Morrowind Modjams are judged events - a panel of judges will go through and play all of the submitted mods, ranking them on their quality, functionality, and adherence to the themes.

The final winners will be announced in a results livestream at a date yet to be determined, and those results will also be published to the Modjams website.

Participating modders will also get their profiles on the Modjam website, with downloadable Modjam passports and a trophy cabinet for any judge awards received. These profiles are connected to the Modathon and Madness sides of Morrowind Modding Legacy, and participating in the Modjam will boost your Madness score and increase your standing in the community's modding leaderboards.

There's also a number of prizes available in the form of game keys and Nexus DP.

A Proud Tradition:

The Morrowind Modjams are apart of the community's proud tradition of creative competition and collaboration. Some 160+ mods have been released for the Modjams in the past 6 years, many of them have become popular mainstays and have since been added to many of the largest mod lists for Morrowind.

I hope you'll all join us for another exciting round of Modjam fun, we're sure to get some amazing new mods, and if you're looking to participate for the first time, there's no better competition to dip your toes into the modding scene!

Happy Modding and Long Live the Morrowind Modding Community!

Announcement We're happy to announce that Project Cyrodiil and Skyrim: Home of the Nords are now updated for version 26.08 of Tamriel_Data.

Thank you for your patience since the release of the new TD update and Tamriel Rebuilt: Poison Song a couple of weeks ago while we dealt with some technical challenges. The update to the Abecean Shores release of PC includes a new player stronghold for the Kingdom of Anvil and Great House-style construction and improvement mechanics, a number of overhauled locations, and improvements to multiple quests. The update to the Dragonstar release of SHOTN includes 14 new dungeons, 6 new quests, and yet more overhauled locations. Both releases include scores of bugfixes, performance improvements, and general quality-of-life features not present in the original releases.

Please note that the file packages contain some loose files, which are intended to patch minor problems in Tamriel_Data discovered after the 26.08 release. These files should be allowed to overwrite upon installation.

Both PC and SHOTN may be freely installed mid-save with no problems, even if you've already started a savefile for Poison Song. We only recommend starting a new game if you had a previous version of PC/SHOTN installed on the same save and spent time in the PT lands. Please let us know in the discord server if you encounter any issues.

As always, thank you so much for your ongoing support of our project! We look forward to bringing you more of Cyrodiil, Skyrim, and other lands of Tamriel in future releases.

Project Cyrodiil can be downloaded at https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/44922?tab=files

Skyrim: Home of the Nords can be downloaded at https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/44921?tab=files

Announcement A Pretty Heavy Spoon

I debated whether to post this, as:

1) A lot of you will have no clue who I am anyway, which is fair.

2) I've never posted out of character before

3) I'm not sure if it's even appropriate

The quick rundown is that I've been maintaining a wacky and wild journal / fanfic / playthrough for the past few years and posting about it here. Hard to even describe what it's even about so I'll just leave the link to the collection and leave it at that.

Anyway, long story short is that my health has taken a rather sudden turn for the worst earlier this year, to the point that it is unlikely to reverse course. Luckily for me I've already ended the series about 2-3 times due to indecisiveness, so I guess I have nothing else to add, lol.

That's it - not gonna drag it out, just wanted to give an update as to my posting status. I do really want to turn this into a story about Corprus though...

Thanks for all the spoons. 🥄

Other First TR Playthrough Starts Tomorrow

Post image

Vet player from 2002 and have played vanilla Morrowind all these years.

First found and started playing Morrowind back when it first released in 2002 after seeing my buddy play it on Xbox. The next day I loaded up my Playstation and all my games and headed to EB Games to trade it all in for an Xbox Morrowind and a few other games.

After 24 years of playing just vanilla Morrowind my adventure begins all over again tomorrow with my first TR playthrough.

Really looking forward to getting started as I've heard nothing but great things about TR and how huge and much better it makes Morrowind.

Question What does the cool Imperial guy use for gloves??? Isn't it unused content?

I looove the cool imperial guy, he's so cool I wish I was him, he's my role model and my aspiration, I only like the imperial legion because he's in it but everytime I try to recreate him in-game I can't find the damn gauntlets he uses!!!

Discussion Enchanting Tip: Self enchanting is viable even for unskilled character

Here is a fun fact: Even with unskilled character with 5 enchant, 30 intelligence, an 30 luck, your chance to enchant item is 10%. (or 9.467% to be a bit more exact).

That means to enchant useful 1pt items (restore fatigue, health, soul trap, jump, levitate, water walk, water breath, damage/absorb on touch, or bound weapon), nothing super fancy, but still very useful utility items that you might keep using until end game, you will on average succeed in 10 attempts.

This might seem like a lot, but you don't need fancy soul gems for these, petty ones filled with 10-30 souls are completely sufficient, as these items tend to recharge almost as fast as you use them. And petty soul gem costs only 10 gold, and can be refilled with easy from omnipresent wildlife, so 100 gold and little exercise, while it will cost at least 10x with Enchanter.

Add a bit of stats, or little bit of enchant training, and the chances go dramatically up.

Currently playing as Commoner NPC class, and this is a nice way to get some early game utility gear that is not available otherwise.

This was my first ever playthrough (played for the first time in 2026 of Morrowind), I struggled a lot (and had to rely on UESP more than I admit) and faced many challenges but I feel like it was worth it!

Question Which NPCs have "slavery" as a subject? I'm currently barred out of the Twin Lamps quest (on console, so no console commands (ironic))

Thumbnail

Edit: by "subject" I meant "topic" btw.

-------

So I've freed over 30+ slaves (as indicated by Jobasha giving me the three skill books as a reward). Which is more than the 20 needed to start the Twin Lamps quest with Ilmeni Dren. I also have recieved the pass-phrase from a freed slave as well.

Problem is, the dialouge option of "slavery" will not appear when speaking with Ilmeni Dren, therefore I cannot start the questline.

I've seen others say that if you speak about "slavery" to other NPCs, it should have that subject now appear for Ilmeni Dren.

But I cannot find one NPC with this subject. Brallion has left the game ages ago after I did his quest. Savile Imayn did not have the subject. The guy in the slave house in Suran did't have it either. Jobasha rewards the book with "Twin Lamps" subject, he has no "slavery" subject.

Is there any other specific NPC that will discuss this with me? Or am I permanently barred out?

Discussion On Morrowind after a 22 year hiatus.

Damn this game aged well. I've never played it pc(Xbox). The Easter eggs are everywhere, the world is super fleshed out, and they really put their hearts into it. Sure, the UI sucks compared to what I expect from modern games(ugh the item menu), but it plays very well and the NPCs are fantastic.

I'm playing completely vanilla except for openMW for bug patches. Imma play around with my wood elf for a few days and restart.

So any recommendations on mods that are ease of life or close to vanilla mods you guys recommend? I still want it close to core game, but a few fun things or something not game breaking would be welcomed.

Things is like to see.

-more variety on armor and clothes

-better menus for alchemy and item menu and such

-texture packs to make it more purdy

Arthur gets lost multiple times but still manages to make a little progress on the main story. One note... there was one chunk where the player recording had issues so there's almost an hour chunk of just the gameplay. It might seem a little weird because there was supposed to be commentary running with it. Check the time stamps if you want to skip that section.
