Mildly Menarik Pokok telinga ayam, eating a vinegar fly it caught

Drosera spatulata, the spoon-leaved sundew or pokok telinga ayam.

A tiny native carnivorous plant of Malaysia, it is found in damp acidic habitats like heath forests.
Locally it is considered endangered and hard to find.

Like other sundews, it is covered in tentacle-like glands that secrete a sticky mucilage to trap small insects.
It can often multiply rapidly after forest fires.

Dating | Relationship 🌷 To all guys out there, do you prefer your girl slim or more curvy/strong?

Post image

Hi guys out there. Do you prefer it if your partner slim or have  more meat ?

How about girls, do you prefer to have a slim body or a more curvy one?

For my case, I have put on a lot of weight after getting into a relationship with my current BF and he told me he prefers my more meaty body now compared to when I was slimmer.

My boyfriend is really good to me and brings me to many nice places and treat me to nice food. He will always ask me to order anything I want on the menu as long as I am happy.

Because of that I ate so much more. I don't like to waste food so I will always finished everything I ordered even if I am already very full🤣. Rather stuff myself than let the food goes to waste

Soon I started to gain weight from all the added calories. Dinner, dessert, supper etc

Fortunately my BF is very understanding and he's happy I have gained weight and he said he won't mind even if I get fat one day. Haha.

There was once instance, i told him that I need go shopping soon to get some new pants because some of my pants cannot fit already, he offered to accompany me. He even paid for everything (eventhough I would gladly pay myself). He said he is happy to buy me bigger pants so that I can eat more nice food 🤣🤣🤣Lol

Actually tbh, I am secretly happy that he likes my more meaty body now and I feel like kind of happy when he compliments my body and squeezes me.

Personally, I don't mind gaining some meat on my body (since I was quite slim since young) but I also sometimes feel embarrassed when ppl around me start noticing me gain weight and started asking/positively teasing, me about it.

Also, I am not sure if people are talking at the back of me about my weight gain or not.

PS: I still go to gym every week once or twice to do squats, hip thrust and arms strengthening exercises so I am able to still burn off some calories and build some muscles. So I am much stronger now, especially my arms and thighs, although I am heavier.

The top photos was when I was still in Uni and more slim and below photo are when I started to put on weight.

My BF also did not gain weight in this relationship. Only I did. Probably because he leads a more healthy and active lifestyle than me. Also, he comes from a more well off family so he had the opportunity to eat nice food like restaurant since young. I am not so will since young so did not really get the chance to eat so much good food. So I cherish the opportunity to eat nice food in this relationship.

Ask Malaysians Bad seller? How to report?

I recently bought a preorder oneplus at a good price imo. I thought it was a win! But the seller keeps on poaching me to cancel with rude communications and finally they cancelled it. What a sad case!

It was not my fault shopee are giving out discount vouchers, thats the main reason we are using the platform anyways. Now it’s just a joy killer knowing your items that you bought using vouchers might be cancelled due to shop do not want to own the prices.

Quick Question Iphone 16 pro, iphone 17, Iphone air or wait for iphone 18

I know this question is asked a lot but might aswell make it a monthly thing. I'm currently using a iphone 13 but the battery life degraded to 72% but don't get me wrong I'm in no hurry to buy a new phone even though I charge my phone 2-3 times a day. The iphone 16 pro is from compasia for RM2700 and iphone 17 is RM3000 for fair quality and slightly more for excellent. Additionally, the iphone air is on sale in machines for just 3600 new. Is compasia trust worthy or should I wait/spend a little extra on a new iphone 17/18.

Has anyone used those TV boxes that are probably connected to pirates site servers and let's you watch loads of shows and channels for free? I remember there was a crackdown to stop their distribution and I'm wondering if they're still working after all this time.

Casual Conversation 🎭 Are female bosses generally harder to work with?

I have worked with a fair share of male and female bosses. Honestly, I have generally had a much better relationship with my male bosses. They are more chill, easygoing, approachable and willing to joke around.

With female bosses, I have often found them more prone to micromanaging, being stricter, controlling and demanding.

Is it just me or anyone else experience the same thing?

I'm interested in attending the One Love Asia Festival at Sunway Lagoon coming up on 30/1–31/1 2027. I'm in my early 20's and looking for another solo attendee or an existing group to tag along with to experience the festival together!

If you're also planning to go or have a group I could join, please drop a comment below.

Mildly Menarik Racer snails, one of our native freshwater species

Post image
29 Upvotes

Vittina waigiensis, the red racer snail or siput timba merah.

A small (3 cm) freshwater snail that lives in clean coastal streams with high flow and many rocks. It is not tolerant of turbid water and silt.

It feeds on microalgae, filamentous algae, diatoms, cyanobacteria, and organic biofilm scraped from hard surfaces using a specialized radula (“tongue”). They are the natural cleaners of their habitat.

They have separate sexes. When their white eggs hatch, the planktonic/veliger larvae wash downstream where they require brackish water to develop.

Their bright colours, peaceful nature and algae-feasting tendencies makes them popular aquarium inhabitants.

Ask Malaysians Moving to KL as an expat

Hi! I’m looking for a place to stay in Kuala Lumpur, as my workplace will be around the KLCC area, and I’ll be finishing work quite late.
My budget is around RM 500–1,000+ per month, depending on whether it’s a private room in a shared apartment or a studio unit. I’m planning to move in sometime in January.
I’d like to know where I should start looking for accommodation, what the usual price range is, how much I should prepare for the deposit, and what I should check before renting. I’d also appreciate any advice on renting as an expat.
Ideally, I’m looking for somewhere safe, with convenient transportation for getting home late at night, and close to a park or running route where I can go for a run and maybe near a wet market too.
I’m also curious about rental listings that specify “Malay only” or “Muslimah only.” I mean no disrespect at all, and I’m not judging anyone. I’ve lived in Europe before and have always been and lived around Muslims and people from different countries and backgrounds. This is actually my first time seeing rental listings with these kinds of specific categories, so I’m just curious about the reasons behind them and would like to understand the local culture better.
I’d really appreciate any recommendations or advice on suitable areas, affordable accommodation, and things I should know before moving to KL. Thank you!

Ask Malaysians Is too late to start learning, or am I just going through a phase?

Hey everyone! I’m currently 19 and have recently been feeling an interest in learning the piano, mainly because I enjoy the emotion and feelings that the music has and how it is portrayed in a way which sounds a little cringe now I’m typing it haha.

For some context, I used to learn the violin when I was around 6–9 ish years old and made it to Grade 3 before eventually quitting halfway. Back then, I didn’t really have much passion for it, and the way my teachers taught me made it feel more like a chore or a job than something I genuinely enjoyed.
Nowadays, I’m self-taught on the acoustic guitar and mainly play Japanese songs and pop music for fun at home.

Recently, I’ve been drawn to the piano and I’ve been wondering whether I should give it a try. At the same time, I’m not sure if this is a genuine interest that will last or just a phase I’m going through. I know 19 is still relatively young, but part of me wonders if I’m starting too late, especially when I see people who have been playing since they were children.

For those who started learning piano as teenagers or adults, how has your experience been? Was it worth picking up, and do you think it’s possible to become decent at it while learning casually and playing songs you enjoy? Also how much are the fees?

Discussion Home water heater

I have a problem. I’ve looked it up on Reddit and there are similar posts, but doesn’t address my particular problem.

Cerita dia macam ni. I need water heater at home for showering. I like instant tankless water heater compared to the tank type.

My home’s water pressure is pretty good.
The heater I have is an old Panasonic one that came with the house. It doesn’t heat up enough even on max.

Had a similar problem with a new water heater (Electrolux), water just wasn’t hot enough despite on max. Called the technician, he came, checked it out said everything was fine and that Electrolux’s anti-scald technology is what causss that. A fancy way to say your water on be hot enough to burn you. He suggested that I reduced how much I turned the water supply on, so that the weaker stream from the shower is heated better before it comes out. This works, and works on the old Panasonic heater too. But weyh, macam tak best pulak when I have good water pressure but can’t experience it because if I turn the tap on more, the heater can’t heat up the water.

Do you guys have any suggestions?
Perhaps a brand/model of instant water heater that works well at heating the water up even with stronger water pressure?

Why not a tank system one. This one I’ve used before elsewhere. Need to turn on the heater switch awhile before, I don’t like planning that much. Sometimes I just need to jump in the shower without considering the heating time. Second, long showers aren’t fun because you can run out of hot water and need to wait for more.

Would appreciate your insights.
