Hi guys! I posted here a week or two ago about my new Leopard Gecko who wouldn't eat. I'm happy to share she's eaten and has suddenly become a really strong eater. I've learned she enjoys being on my shoulder. Her name is Syrax but I've been calling her Evil Babby.

Thank you for all the advice!

Habitat, Setup, and Husbandry Digging

My gecko has finally started to let me hold him/her and is very active wanting to crawl everywhere. So I really have to watch. But now he/she is digging right in front on the door. I thought it was cause he/she wanted out. But now they are doing it everywhere in the cage causing chaos dirt in the water. Sometimes I can’t find the poop cause it’s disappeared. Sometimes I try to put the dirt back. Is there another reason he’s causing mass destruction

New Friend New parent to surrendered leo, advice welcome

Hi all! I’ve come into possession this handsome man, Ziggy, after my friend surrendered him to me. She said he’s about 10-11 years old

The tank I have him in now is the 20gal he was given to me in, with a 50/50 mix of reptisoil and reptisand I plan to upgrade to a 40gal bioactive once my plant light comes in and I can go shopping for some decent cork rounds and plants. He’s munching on some calcium dusted super worms in this photo as she said he hasn’t been fed in a while :(

I also own a crested gecko, so bioactive enclosures and reptile care isn’t new to me. I’ve just never owned a leo before and want to make sure I’m doing everything right!! Any advice is appreciated greatly

Gecko Pics/Vids Leia's First Climb

Post image

For background Leia is a 4 year old leo my wife and I got from her coworker. We've had her for a couple months now and today she finally decided to climb up my sleeve when offered. She's climbed into my hand a few times but never up my arm. She ended up chilling in my hood for about 15 minutes before turning around.

Help Is this way of feeding okay?

Post image

Context: I got my Pablo 2 days ago. Yesterday he trusted me enough to climb on my hand so i tought i will try to feed him today but at first i put down a cricket infront of his face and he just looked at it as it was hopping away and i was thinking that they are too fast for him since he is so young so i trapped them in a glass and calcium powder and he ate 3 crickets out of the glass and 1 out of the tweezers because i was too slow and didnt think he would jump after the cricket i was holding. (He also didnt look uncomfortable or stressed while climbing in and out of the glass thats why i gave him 2 more that way)

I am also thinking of switching to dubia roaches and also breeding them since they are slower and dont smell as bad as normal house crickets

Gecko Pics/Vids Up-Close Roach Hunt

A week into this vacation, and I’ve been able to watch Cyrus hunt a few times via the cameras while I’m away, this is just the clearest view since he did it right in front of Camera-19. First thing he did after eating was get himself a drink before wandering off again.

Free-range hunting + his pool (filtered and constantly refilling/emptying to avoid standing water) + an automated lighting/heating/misting/wind/dehumidifier system means my pet sitter hasn’t had to do a single thing for Cyrus except refill the carrot pile so the roaches have something to eat (and they’re still visibly coated in calcium powder even after 8 days, plus his calcium dish is kept in an area that stays dry)

Enclosure Help Hospital tank help!

Hello everyone! I just recently (as in today) got a leopard gecko who had a really bad sperm plug. I volunteered to take him to the vet from the rescue he was at, fully covering the cost on my own. Well, when I brought him back to the rescue the owner asked me if I just wanted to keep him, since they fixed up the sperm plug and sutured him up, obviously i said yes cause hes a little darling.

Ive had many reptiles in the past, and currently have a leopard gecko with a tank fully set up and everything, buuuuuuuuut im not quite sure about this hospital tank set up.

I wanted to keep the main 3 hides in there but with how deep the sperm plug went and the wound, the vet really wants me to be able to keep an eye on the sutures and wound easily. And to also make sure that his sutures dont catch on anything and rip out. I have some fake plants cleaning up right now but do you guys have any other suggestions?

Added a photo of the poor little guy at the vet all doped up on meds

Okay so I dust my leopard geckos insects in repashy calcium plus every feed since I have no uvb, my leopard gecko is a year and 3 months and eats about 6-7 insects dusted in it and has a clean fresh dish of calcium without d3 in her tank always, is this enough to sustain her health well and prevent mbd? Or is this not enough, usually I’d be able to buy the whole uvb setup but my brother made an impulse buy on a snake and now it’s in my care so if anyone could help me out and tell me if this is okay lmk also she’s fat so she only eats once a week, I haven’t experienced any issues the entire time I’ve had her.

General Discussion Eating slowed

We got our dude (we think) at 3 weeks. He is now 5 months and what a learning experience. I am in Pennsylvania and its cooling off. He shed and then didnt poop for days, like 4 or 5. Gave him a warm bath and massage and next day lots of poop. Since then hes only ate a little bit, like 4-5 worms every couple days. He was eating daily like 15 worms. So million dollar question.

Is his eating slowed from the season change, the constipation, or the getting older? All of it? He seems a healthy weight so Im not worried too much but what can I expect as a 5 month goes into colder weather? Should I just try to feed him every other day at this point?

Help Ants in my geck's tank

I noticed yesterday that there are a BUNCH of ants in one of my leopard gecko tanks. He is on paper towel due to me getting him recently and also because he's still young. Does anyone have any tips for getting the ants out/killing them and keeping the ants out? I just lost one of my cats a few days ago so I'm having a hard time and I didnt get it done right away. Any advice is much appreciated.

Rescue Gecko Rehoming

In the Tampa/Wesley Chapel area (Florida). I have a 3-4 year old female leopard gecko. I feel as though I cannot provide the care that she needs anymore. For example, I find myself forgetting to feed her due to mental health issues. She is currently in a 40 gallon. I am trying to find a suitable home for her and her enclosure would come with her. I want to make sure that she is going to someone with experience and/or the willingness to provide a fulfilling life for her. Any ideas on how I can find her a good home?
