This post is to announce the beta release of my Left 4 Dead 2 XBOX 360 addon converter following my previous post about getting Left 4 Mario working on console. I would like to introduce the console modding community to my OPEN SOURCE project: Leave 2 Converter!

This converter can convert campaigns, texture and model replacements, sound replacements, and simple vscript replacements. It is quite capable, but again it's a beta so there's a lot it cannot do. But I wanted it out there to further the community. Not only can it convert though, it can also patch your DLC content directly into your game! No more internet before loading DLCs!

But what if you have a converted mod that you don't want to use all of the time? Don't worry, this converter can patch your game with its sister development: Leave 2 Loader! Leave 2 Loader is a custom addon package loader system for the game that implements the addon menu system from PC! So now you can toggle which addons you do and don't want to load, which can help save on that precious 512mb of RAM.

Now for the bad news. This converter does require Dino D-Day and it's SDK package. That can run you about $10. But that won't be forever! This release is the Vanilla flavor, but I'm currently developing the Chocolate flavor which will be completely self contained. It will be free and open source as well, so no money required. That will likely be out at the end of November. And by February of next year, I plan to release a Neapolitan flavor which will patch The Last Stand and it's updated engine into the game!

This converter is my project and mine alone. I have no connection with anyone who's released their own tools for modding the game.

Future iterations of this converter and other flavors of it will not be announced on here, so keep an eye on the Github project if you want the latest features!!

There are many custom HUDs for L4D2, so which type is better to you: horizontal/bottom or vertical/left?

So I'm trying to make a mod for the Witch that replaces her sounds with the ones of the Winter Lantern from Bloodborne. As you can see, I have this issue. It only does this when the Witch is standing (as shown in the video). I triple checked the addon files with the original files and everything is matching accordingly, same lenght, same Hz, same bits.

Also, it also seems to be doing this only on the tumtara map, I tried it on official campaigns and everything sounded just fine.

I've been playing with Left 4 Bots 2 and they're good. I feel like their reaction time to special infected is too good though. Hardly ever get pinned for more than a few seconds and it removes a lot of the tension. I was recommended to set manual_attack_always to 1 but I'm gonna set it back to 0 to tone them down. What other settings can I change to tone them down some more?

I recently played with some friends again and I realize how much the bots made things easier with their insane reaction times lol. Granted my friends are more casual about the game but if I'm having an easier time with bots it's a sign they're a bit overtuned.

My brother and I own Left 4 dead 2 base game, But really want The Passing DLC in anyway, Could anyone PLEASE lend their account or anything for Xbox, I really want to play with him since he’s going away for the marines, I just really want to play with him before he’s gone for a while

I played the game when I was a kid and I sucked at english and didn't really understand the meaning of its title, so after playing the game for a while I interpreted the name as "Left 4, Dead 2" meaning there were 4 survivors left and 2 were already dead (which checked out for me as there really was only 4 survivors).

I ended up playing the game again years later and finally played its prequel, but as a kid I always assumed there was a prequel where the other 2 survivors were still alive. It didn't help that I was on Xbox, where the game didn't contain the entirety of the original Left 4 Dead as the PC version does.

I also ate a lot of dirt. I love dirt.

i've heard it's buggy and I have seen solutions but none of them seem to be working.

Hey, the title is kinda self explanatory, I need help with a hunter Halloween costume, as I’m going to a party as the Hunter this year. Thing is, I can’t add the duct tape onto my wrists, arms and legs without leaving tape residue stains on my clothes. Can anyone confirm if this is playable on console? Just seen a thread on twitter where the full game is ported to it, my friends don’t have disc drives on there consoles so we’d actually be able to play it if it does work

So I went and made my own Horror Modpack for L4D2 inspired by the Nightmare pack! This is my very first time making a modpack, but I'm pretty proud of it. I tested it in Expert Campaign, its pretty difficult. I am open to feedback/suggestions for changes/new Mods!

Neither hes 30 feet tall, bcuz, lets be honest, who the fuck would take the time in the middle of an apocalipse and in the middle of a zombie horde to calculate how Big it's the zombie in esteroids that can throw rocks, and don't come with ingame dialogues or comic text, because they are not trusthable sources to know how Big the tank it's. Neither hes 7 feet tall bcuz valve has stated the tank ingame has been shrinken down.

Something weird happened today while i was playing online. There was annoying guy who killed another player all the time and suddenly my game changed really strange? Like i was hopping backwards all the time and didn’t have control what i was doing, other players had same shit going on. Everything was fine when i left and joined another game. First time experiencing something like this

A project a few weeks in the making (mostly was a file space issue), I have extracted and rebuilt every Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 beta build (specifically, the pre-release stuff), and I am now presenting them here, for archival purposes, and for ease of use.

They're all here on a nice little torrent file (So you can choose what build you want. Full collective is 126gb, so I don't recommend getting the whole thing at once).

I've included the contents of the torrent in the image above, for transparency.

(There's multiple post-launch betas I'm not touching, because I don't know if that falls under piracy or something, since they're technically the finished games, just with extra stuff. To be fair, I'm not even sure if this is breaking any rules as-is, so if it is, please let me know, mods).

Please note that, while I have tested a few builds, I haven't tested them all. If there's any issues with any of them, let me know, and I'll try to find a fix/solution.

(For the L4D2 builds, they might not launch properly. I believe it's just a Steam App ID issue. I recommend you edit the Steam App Id file (generated after first launching it, should be found in the root directory) to read as 550 (L4D2's retail steam Id), and set the file to read-only. L4D1 should work, but if it has the same issue, just do the same thing, but replace the Steam App ID with 500.)

Genuine question, what's the context behind Blue Archive being highly popular with L4D2 mods? you're welcome to give a summary about Blue Archive because i know nothing about it, i guess you could make the argument of "people that play L4D2 just so happens like Blue Archive", but it's a bit weird that most of the mods are about that anime.
