I want screams and tears during fights, bodies trembling from emotions.

Some examples would be In The Line of Duty 3, She Shoots Straight or Monkey Man

I bought this sword in SF Chinatown years before the movie came out. It has a striking resemblance to the one Peter Kwong's char Rain used during Lo Pan's Ritual and during the final battle in John Carpenter's cult classic Big Trouble In Little China (1986). Wonder if the prop department found it the same way.

He also used it here

Kicking myself for not buying two xD.

It's pretty obvious his western films as well as other Asian action stars pale in comparison to their HK movies in terms of fights, editing, directing and stunts.

Even Jackie Chan rarely does western action movies anymore due to his lack of control and trust in the Hollywood system.

This might be a weird question or topic, but yesterday I watched Goodbye Dragon Inn.

Two actors of the actual movie Dragon Inn showed up in this movie and one of the lines they said to each other hit me.

"No one goes to the movies anymore, and no one remembers us anymore"

It made me think of the lives of all these actors and actresses that we love to see on our screens and how their lives are or were after or during their careers.

Do people want to share some personal anecdotes about HK actors/actresses they looked into? It can be funny, heartwarming, sad etc.

It does not have to be a famous actor, like Chow Yun Fat. It can also be an actor or actresses that was often a side character, for example.

Sorry, I know this is a very niche and probably a weird topic, but that line hit me hard.

In a recent post on X, Tjahjanto gave us a brief update: “Since a lot of you is asking what’s the update on Sleeping Dogs. Trust me when I say Simu and I are doing our best to slowly make this come into fruition. Trying to stay as loyal to Wei Shen’s tale while adding layers to make the narrative more fitting into a feature film is not an easy task. We’re taking our time to make the best version of Sleeping Dogs the movie.
