I'm a diaspora Korean (few years out of college) that speaks/reads/writes the language but is pretty culturally unaware of what is going on (think stuff I actively decided to listen to include Sanulrim/산울림 and Kim Kwang-Seok/김광석 and then mostly personally checked out of modern kpop).

Are there any kpop musicians (in the broadest sense possible) that have funk or r & b-inspired music that is musically interesting but cringe in large doses? For a bit of context, a jpop example could be Yasuyuki Okamura/岡村靖幸 who was inspired by Prince and was heavily involved in arrangement and composition side as well aside from singing. I find his music interesting but listening to it/watching videos often makes me feel like being attacked by a real-life Jojo character and I run away pretty often...I was thinking of JYP's older work, but I'm not sure. Any suggestions? I'm open to options in other parts of kpop that often yield a similar reaction. ;)

I bought some stuff from weverse total before shipping is $193 and I got charge $700+ in tariff, I waited for the documents (airway bill and entry summary) to get sent in the mail and saw that airway bill the declared value as $6600+ and the weight to be 70kg.

after i applied for the premium seat upgrade lottery i realized i have spelled my name wrong in katakana. i used a name converter and it spelled my name without double consonants (basically my name has LLI and it spelled it as LI). ive used the same converter every time ive had to write my name in katakana so my name is spelled wrong in the fanclub raffle application and my moa membership card has the wrong spelling too. if i win the premium upgrade they will 100% check my id and the membership card (and even if i dont win they still might check) so i wonder will this cause any issues? could they even kick me out of the concert if the info doesn´t match even though the difference is minor?

This might be a little niche, but I’m looking for songs that have a cinematic feeling/take your breath away. The song that fits this, and sparked this question, is Deserve by Baby Monster. I really like the way the chorus just comes in and elevates the whole thing. The production helps the ebbs and swells/flows of the vocals so that when they really want that full and emotionally impactful sound, it’s exaggerated. Im looking for songs where the production emphasizes the emotion felt in the vocals, without taking away from the vocals themselves, if that makes sense. The catch is that I really want the songs to have dynamics, I don’t want the song to be static. I’m open to any songs from any groups or genres! Thanks!

Sup. How does kpop award shows basically work? Like MAMA, GDA, MMA etc.
is like every group nominated or is a particular list of nominees - and if so isn't this making the show subjective. Also what's the line up on an award show - is it the only ones who are nominated?
Also I've seen several shows (ig?) like music bank, where viewers can vote for groups (ig?) - is this also some type of an award show or is it the different one?
