Rooting LineageOS 24 (Android 17) officially supported on Amazon Fire Max 11 š„š„
LineageOS is officially supported. That means a massive jump in terms of software updates from Android 11 (Fire OS) to Android 17 (LineageOS 24).
The first official build should arrive next week. That means I am going to flash all my devices to Android 17.

Other Fire 7 2015 not holding a charge.
This 2015 kindle fire 7 has been barely used and I decided to get it back out to use as an e-reader. When I plug it in, no charging icon shows up it just turns on, and it pretends to charge but as soon as I pull the cord it turns off. What do I do? (For context I'm just using this thing as a temporary device until I can get a Kindle Colorsoft)

Fire OS 7.3.2.4+ I made an Overcooked-style co-op cooking game, it just launched on Amazon Appstore(Fire tablet)
I wanted an Overcooked-style game on my phone, but I didn't like the controls or the graphics in most of the ones I tried, so I built my own. I spent about a month on it, and it just went live on the Amazon Appstore.
Oven Rush: Pizza Pals is a co-op cooking game. You can play solo or with a friend, and you control it however you like:
⢠tap to move
⢠a virtual pad
⢠a controller (Xbox or PlayStation)

Shopping Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet w 32 GB storage for $73- worth it?
Update: Thanks for the replies. I did order the Fire HD 10 last week and is expected to arrive today. It replaces an old 2018 Fire 8 with a dying battery and only 16 GB of storage (only about 9 GB after system requirements).
My only gripe with this Fire 10 is, as I said, that it's only 32 GB (or maybe 25 GB after system requirements?). I also have a SD card for 64 GB, that stores only files from my computer. For some reason, downloaded Amazon books go exclusively to the internal drive. I've tried to correct this by twice doing a factory reset to reassign the SD as the primary storage, but this happened both times.
Original post: Amazon's been promoting this sale for a week, and I keep going back and forth about it. I'd heard there is a way to add Google Play to a Kindle Fire, which I'd like to try, but regardless, does anyone have any opinions? I really want the 64 GB storage but it appears as unavailable. I'm not sure if they'll be back and in the ballpark price of under $100, or if Amazon is just not selling Kindle Fires anymore.

Question New Fire10, videos/screen looks worse than old one
Anyone notice a dip in display and video quality between old fire10s (mine's from 2019) and the newest one? I set them up side by side and streamed off Amazon video, the 2019 model looks crystal clear while the new one looks soft, blurry and pixelated, especially around faces. It cannot be THAT much worse can it? Google says the new ones stopped using a "fully laminated display" and that can effect screen quality etc etc. Idk man.

Software Update Can I update to Fire OS 6?
I currently own a Kindle fire HD 10 7th generation, and it's currently running on OS 5.7.1.0, there's some apps like Max and such that I want to download on here, but cannot because they require the device to be on at least OS 6. Can anybody help me out?

Physical Device Is the Fire HD 10 worth it?
Hello everyone, I bought the fire HD 10 on a whim due to the current sale making it less than 100 dollars (it has yet to arrive). I would like to strip out as much of Amazon's bloatware is I possibly can, and/or flash a more competent android image onto it (lineage, etc).
My current understanding is that I could sideload apks just fine, but are any of that other aforementioned things possible, or should I be getting ready to return the product?
For reference, I wanted to primarily use it as a nice large screen media device (videos, manga, etc.)
What are the community's thoughts on this device at this price point?

Fire Kids Tablets Fire Kids Tablet 11 (Appstore)
Title: New Amazon Fire Kids Tablet 11 ā Netflix and Disney+ wonāt show up in the child profile
Hi everyone!
We got the new Amazon Fire Kids Tablet 11 today, and Iām honestly starting to lose my mind trying to set it up. š
I was wondering if anyone here has experience with the new model and could help me out.
We previously had the older Fire HD 8 Kids tablet, where I had set up a separate child profile for my daughter. We had apps like Netflix and Disney+ installed on that tablet.
However, these apps havenāt transferred to the new tablet. Whatās even more confusing is that the new tablet doesnāt seem to have the Amazon Appstore at all ā it only has the Google Play Store.
I can download Netflix and Disney+ without any problems from the Google Play Store using my adult profile. Iāve also allowed the relevant content in the Amazon Kids Parent Dashboard. However, neither app shows up in my daughterās profile.
I even installed the Google Play Store in her profile, but Netflix and Disney+ donāt appear there at all.
My questions are:
Does anyone have the new Amazon Fire Kids Tablet 11 and managed to get Netflix and Disney+ working in the child profile?
Is there a way to make apps installed in the adult profile available to the child profile?
Do I need to configure something in Google Family Link, or is there another workaround?
Iād rather not use the adult profile for my daughter, as I want to keep proper parental controls in place, especially when it comes to screen time and app access.
Iād really appreciate any advice or experiences you can share. Thanks in advance! š

Physical Device Can't Log In To Websites That Use Cloudflare
Apparently, something on my tablet is preventing me from being able to log in to any websites that use Cloudflare to check to see that we're not robots.
It's very frustrating. I haven't been able to log in to Forthright, a survey website, for months now. I have to keep asking for a link to view my account on there. I've been using the site for years and never had any problems until they started using Cloudflare. It said something about an ad blocker being the reason why. Do you know how I can remove this on my Amazon Fire tablet? Or do you have any other solutions? Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you.

Apps I built a Fire tablet app that makes my kid answer a few flash cards before the games unlock
Full disclosure, I made this. Solo dad, not a company.
Our Fire tablet was the reward for everything, and I was always the one keeping track of the time. So I built Ejuu.
How it works on the tablet:
- The kid answers a few quick questions (math, spelling, grammar, ages 4 to 12) and earns minutes.
- The minutes go into a bank that never expires, and they pick when to spend them.
- When the time runs out, Ejuu takes the screen back from whatever game they were in and goes back to the questions. I do not have to be the timer.
- Parents set it up and approve chores or bonus minutes from a phone web page. Nothing to install on your phone.
Fire specifics, so nobody wastes their time:
- It is on the Amazon Appstore. I tested it on a Fire HD 8 (12th gen). Other Fire models should work, but I have not verified them.
- It runs in a regular Fire profile. I have not built it around Amazon Kids profiles.
If you try it on a different Fire model, I would really like to hear if anything breaks. Happy to answer setup questions here.

Question Amazon Kids tablet updated, wants Amazon AppStore to update?
Message says, āamazon appstore is out of date. please visit the amazon website to install the latest version of the appstoreā.
How do you update Amazon Appstore if that comes from OTA update?
Iāve tried checking for updates from settings in parent profile but nothing.
Anyone come across this?
