I checked Best Buy to see if I could get it sooner because my order got delayed to 11/4 on Amazon. Best Buy will deliver the Colorsoft SE tomorrow, 10/29 so I cancelled my order on Amazon :)

I’ve had my Kindle for closer to a year and I noticed that the back of it had a hairline fracture. When I saw it I gasped! My Kindle has always had a clear case on it so I was surprised when I saw that the back side was cracking. Has anyone else experienced this?

Amazon's website is giving me conflicting responses via Alexa's questions feature on the website. It said the following:

1. The original Kindle Colorsoft came out in 2023 and the Click will not work on it.

2. It then said the Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition came out in 2023 and the Click will work on it, because it came out in 2024.

I am pretty sure my Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition is from the original Colorsoft launch. I also thought both Colorsofts were released in 2024.

Can someone that has both devices please validate if their Kindle Click works on both the OG Colorsoft and the Colorsoft Signature Edition from 2024?

I did the jailbreak because I didn't want to buy a new kindle, but now the koreader app makes me want to buy a colorsoft kindle.

I picked up an "Old-new-stock" kindle keyboard, largely because I am massively nostalgic for my first one which was destroyed in a car accident.

I got it in the mail, I started to charge it up. It's still displaying that "fresh start" screen that has

"Step 1: Plug in your kindle."

I've followed Step 1, and the light did turn on.

Step 2 is to slide the power switch to start it.

I've followed Step 2, but nothing's happening- it still displays the same information.

Diiiiid I get some kind of bricked kindle, or is there a step I'm missing?

Now for the arduous task of sending all the fanfictions I wanna read (I downloaded them as EPUBs) over to it. I also have a ridiculous kindle library of published books but at least all those require is sign in!

Anyone else is getting their delivery delayed? Mine is now expected to arrive Friday instead of tomorrow 😭

I just got the Signature Colorsoft in Fig and it’s irritating me that I have this dot on my screen. I tried refreshing. And even when it’s blanked out the dot is still there. I may be a little baby when it comes to this bc I’m very ocd. But let’s not glaze over the fact that this device was over 300 dollars (including tax). I’m torn because I tried exchanging it in customer service and they were out of stock. Should I keep it and see if it’s fixable? Or just return it?

Well it seems I got lucky and they delivered it a day early. My cover w buttons is arriving in a week's time.

For context, I am upgrading from an Oasis 9th gen 2017 model. I regret not upgrading to the warm light one a few years after mine, but I always thought they would release an improved updated version, better battery etc. You know how that wait ended. Don't laugh.

So I finally got this new one. Seduced by the buttons on the cover. And I hoped that almost 10 years of screen improvements would be noticeable. The warm light is much needed as I read before I sleep.

I am not a reviewer, so just treat these thoughts an amateur's first impressions. The pics were all taken on an iPhone, nothing fancy.

I really like it. The aluminum finish is so Oasis-like, it feels good in the hand. The text is noticeably crisper due to the improved contrast and much deeper black levels. It feels fast in response to the touch. I'll just shut up here and post some pics. Btw, I took one pic at full brightness in the dark for those who requested it. Don't think I have the lines others are talking about, but honestly I'm not sure what to look for. For those that are waiting for theirs, good luck, I hope your delivery is soon.

Ps. Any uneven screen contrast is just down to the lighting/reflections in my room, tried my best to minimize it.

I held myself back from buying the hardcover since I have all the others in paperback. So curling up with my Kindle it is!

Max brightness, 0 warmth, vivid. As I was taught by the old masters here.

Pretty palatable transition so far coming from a first generation scribe to this. Can already tell it will help upgrade homeschooling. The colors for science and history lessons are pretty important, it turns out. With notes it will also help to have multiple colors to organize lessons/work.

If this is the jump we get from the first generation then I am expecting us to have 3D hologram projectors in our palms within the next decade or so.

I dislike ebooks and i’ve always loved actual books. However, I did this to save money on books and space in my house lol I love the size but I feel like I don’t understand why it’s so slow?
I have one book on it!! Is this usual?

Yes I know it’s not colour although many would agree that’s a plus. It’s not USBC and compared to other devices the battery is a little disappointing, but the weight, the balance and the fact whether right or left handed, you can swing the whole device round and use it that way.

It’s got somewhere to rest your thumb that doesn’t encroach on the screen. I’ve tried a Kobo Libra which feels clunky and heavy to get my button fix, and I’ve tried a signature paper white and my thumb has to awkwardly sit back on the side of the device. Sorry to bang on about it…but what a device. I just hope mine keeps hanging on.

Worth it? I love my regular kindle, but I could grab this for a family member. Is the only difference - no ads?

As all of us in this community already knows, the kindle has a superior reading experience to a phone. You don’t have to hold or see a Duo to know that. The inner nano texture display is not easy on the eyes by any means, despite what some reviews are saying. E-ink displays will always be better than typical backlit blue light displays.

With that being said, the versatility with the form factor of the Duo is soooo nice. It’ll probably be 5+ years from now, but if Kindle or any other e-ink reader could come out with a versatile device like this (as far as orientation and sizing goes), it would be perfection.

I've been downloading fanfics on my kindle for years and I check today only to see more then half of them are just gone. What do I even do! Can I fix this?

Moreso a vent then anything, but I was really hoping to get this on release day. My oasis finally kicked the can and reading on a scribe is not ideal. At least the paperwhite only got kicked to friday.
