Onboarding Got the offer letter but I don’t have a Degree.

I got an offer letter from a very good company which I accepted but after I got hired I realised that I needed to submit my transcript for it. The thing is that I am a drop out and have been for the past year and I haven’t updated that on my resume. I am thinking of just faking the transcript but I’m afraid I will be caught.

If anyone has any idea on what I can do in this situation please guide me. The transcript is a mist according to them. They told me that my degree doesn’t need to be finished they just need a transcript but I can’t provide that.
Also if I fake the transcript and get caught what will be the consequences.

Rejections i feel like giving up. not a single interview my entire time unemployed

my post is probably going to get downvoted, i feel like anytime i post on here i just get hate, but whatever.

i’ve been jobless for about 6 months now and im tired of looking. before anyone comes at me sideways, yes.. i’m aware people have been looking for jobs a lot longer than me, but i’ve never been unemployed, let alone this long and it’s really starting to get to me.

i’ve had my resume looked over by so many people, i tailor it to every job posting, and i still haven’t landed a SINGLE interview. either im overqualified, or not qualified enough, or simply just overlooked by the competitive pool of resumes. even on the jobs i get a “perfect match” for.. it seems impossible. i’m getting hit with auto-rejects, being completely ghosted, or rejection letters several months down the line. today even, i got an email for a job i applied to back in may telling me they’re moving forward with other candidates.

i was let go from my last company, and even reapplying there and trying to upkeep relationships has been so challenging because everyone is so swamped and busy in their own way.

i’ve had countless 1:1’s with people that ultimately lead no where. i just hear the same thing i’ve been hearing for years “keep your eyes peeled, keep applying, and keep connecting!” i chased a promotion for 2 years before a transition with a manager didn’t want to see me grow shut it all down and got me fired. everyone i connected even before getting let go, would told me those same exact things and i’ve gotten nowhere.

i can’t keep having 1:1s with people when they just connect me to a trail of 15 other people that ultimately get me no where, and reaching out in and of itself gets so exhausting too because i feel like now, if you can’t help others, no one is looking to help you. i can’t help anyone with no job, and i can’t help when im not given a chance.

i spent almost a year and a half connecting with a handful of individuals from my previous job, but it’s so one sided and i just gave up on reaching out to connect and hear the same thing 10 times over.

anyway.. my unemployment is about to run out and im so stressed, i don’t know what to do. bills coming up, and i have limited savings. i’ve tried everything and im so lost. at this point, literally might just have to throw my morals out the window and become a stripper or something.

Startups I hate every morning going to this kind of job

So I just got a job as a nurse, I just finished university and I need some prior knowledge that I don't have because I didn't finish high school for nurses. Anyway, I'm trying hard but some colleagues don't take me seriously. Yesterday during medication distribution I asked where a certain medicine is and a colleague says "damn Stacy I can't tell you everything" while when a male colleague who has been here longer than me asked her, she did answer him. And then when I was drawing up a medicine she commented about me that I don't know anything, damn it. Later an older colleague told me that my mentor is saying why I'm not distributing the therapy and I told him that I asked and she said nothing and he told her to dedicate more time to me and she got pissed later, like she asked me what I don't understand and started saying that I need to do care and everything which I do. And when an agitated patient came I was watching and she holded his arm I asked "should I?" and she was like no. And later she tells me that when such a patient comes I shouldn't stand with crossed arms becaus when a patient comes and she also said that you shouldn't be on your phone in acute care. I said I once looked at my phone in the ambulance and that's it and the head nurse saw me, I don't know how she knows about that anyway and she said all kinds of things, it looks like I'm not trying at all and she just makes a grimace like yes-no with crossed arms, so it looks like I'm not trying at all, I do everything and I get blown off.

Job searching Left my job..need advice

I left my last job without giving notice because I had a horrible experience with my manager. I tried going to their boss to address some concerns, and instead, I ended up in a meeting with both of them that was absolutely awful. I ultimately decided to quit. Now, during an interview for a potential new job, the interviewer asked if I would give my current employer two weeks’ notice if I were hired. I panicked and said, “Of course,” because I wanted to make a good impression and I really want this job. 😂 But the reality is that I’m not even employed anymore.
Fuck, I don’t know what to do or say. Should I have just been honest about leaving my last job, or should I address it now? I don’t want to start off on the wrong foot, but I also don’t want to lie.

HR Weird coworker bothering me despite complaint being filed, and an investigation.

They were seemingly going to schedule him on different days/times than me, but I picked up this shift—But that’s besides the point, I’ve told this man leave me alone explicitly MANY times, blocked him on four platforms. The pervert even contacted my sister.??? HR clearly has not had a conversation with him, because he’s tried to converse with me twice today. I just want him to leave me alone, he has no reason to be interacting with me and will seek excuses to. I told him very loudly, “Oh my god! Leave me the fuck alone!” I had already caught attitude with him earlier today when he attempted to talk to me, but he is seemingly very socially unaware and cannot read social cues—but again, I’ve said prior to today, “Leave me alone.” He clearly has something wrong with him, but I can’t empathize with him any longer. How long do these things typically take to investigate? Why has he not already been told to not talk to me? This was filed and reported last Saturday anonymously, and I’m came forward myself on Sunday and I know he’s worked since then.

Interviews Just bombed a telephone screening, feeling extremely disheartened...

I have not posted here, and this might be messy because it's been bugging me all day.
I get a call at 7am and then another at 7:30am. Didn't notice until around 7:45am because I am not up that early. HR/recruiter person mixed time zones and so the call was actually 4 hours earlier than expected. Thought I had made a mistake in the confirmation email so I called back.

After a few minutes Hr called and apologized, stated they didn't call proper time and offered to call at confirmed time. I said it was alright and proceeded with screen.
Started off decent with my background (product dev and management). A few technical questions of walking through a product I developed and brought to commercialization were good-however I forgot one of the components (total of 5, forgot 1, felt very frustrated at myself at the moment), along with evaluating ingredients (clinical research, methods, specs, standardization, extraction method)-I felt this was strongest. Few other questions that I recall (such as how do deal with an issue prior to launch that might delay launch) were ok, not great. I felt in those moments very nervous-I excused myself for a second to sip some water because I was so nervous- and continued to answer.

At the end they told me next round PD lead, then third is with senior leadership such as CEO. Told me to expect follow up by next week. They were polite about the time mix up and thanked me for flexibility.
I truly practiced an interview/screen but really felt I should have done the screen at the time we had agreed upon. But that's on me. Also, not a guarantee that I would have done better.
I truly have been successful in my field and love the challenges of my role and getting projects done in budget, and within specs. but I really felt like I sold myself short.
This was the first interview/screen in roughly 4 years (my previous company was sold and was laid off). All I can do is learn and move on if things don't work out. I have a really bad habit of beating myself up and being extremely critical.
ugh...
I just need to practice more and take a pause when a question is asked, I feel a lot of pressure to start answering.

Discipline Being put on an intermittent loa

So background I have an autoimmune disease along with other mental and physical issues, I work a 40+ hour a week job in the food services and I’ve been at this job around a year. In that time I’ve called off once and left work early with approval from my manager due to doctor appointment or having vomiting/ diarrhea maybe 4-5 times. I left work early today after throwing up and just feeling generally unwell. I got a text from my manager saying they were going through the steps on placing me on an intermittent LOA and I’ll need doctors notes for any future missed hours. I’m just wondering if the amount of work I have missed is too much for the time I’ve been there and if putting me on an intermittent LOA is appropriate. I have no issue providing proof as I am at my doctors regularly due to my health I just feel feel odd being disciplined for taking care of my health and also following food safety standards (ei. Not working with food when expelling liquids from my body) and I don’t feel I’ve missed a considerable amount of work in my time either. Just wanted to get others opinions on the matter.

Career planning Jobs in business that actually feel like I'm helping people?

Hello, im a somewhat lost 24 year old who just got his associates in business but I'm realizing I would rather make a difference like social work. I'm not sure what to pivot to that won't make all my credit hours go to waste.

What jobs can relate to business and more people facing work while still having good pay and oppurtunity for hybrid work?

Got an Interview at Tilly’s (Clothing store in my mall) and was wondering if this outfit is okay ? The last interview I had I dressed jeans and button up and felt very embarrassed no one else for the interview was dressed up as I was! Want to know if this outfit is okay or is it too inappropriate for a basic retail job. (Also I checked Tilly’s dress code is extremely laid back as well)

Interviews Did I handle this correctly?

I had an interview today at 9am EST for a Sr Software Engineer position with a Defense Contractor. They made the interview time, had me confirm the time, had my double check my confirmation. I work at a Hosptial mind you, so I schedule my time based on when it’s not busy.

Reserved an office, opened my laptop and waited, I gave em 30 minutes, no one called or emailed me so I closed all my stuff and went back to work. Employer called me at 10:45am and said “we had a scheduling conflict, we scheduled 2 interviews at that time and couldn’t fit me in for an interview until Thursday at 1pm EST. I told the employer because they wasted and hour of my time the least they could do was squeeze me in for an interview today at the end of the day or give me preferential time for Thursday as my time is important.

Employer: “we are sorry we can’t inconvenience others because of a clerical error”
Me: “okay well your clerical error cost me my entire lunch period, and as a government employer that’s extremely unprofessional, no warning or heads up”
Employer: “yes but mistakes happen and at least we are giving you the opportunity to interview”
Me: “if I was scheduled at 9am and I didn’t show up, or I didn’t give you a heads up or cancel, would you provide me with the same grace? Would you still interview me even though I wasted your time and resources”
Employer: “Probably not but it’s different because you are the one asking us for employment and we are obliging the opportunity”
Me: “Is my time not important and what kind’ve impression is that leaving on an employee if you can’t fulfill your obligations on time”

Long story short, I have an interview Thursday and I guarantee it won’t go any further lol

Recruiters How do you email/dm hiring managers directly asking for a job? H E L P

For no ones surprise I'm navigating the job market. I am an industrial designer and there don't seem to be many positions for my expertise. I see everywhere that I should reach directly to the managers and ask them about oportunities. I guess my question is not much is you have ever gotten a job but more what the hell do you write on the DM without looking too desperate (I am tho). Not that I care much about to look desperate but more as in I don't want them to be directly annoyed at me.

For context: I'm in Finland, looking for a job in Helsinki, Stockholm or Copenhagen.

Compensation Ghosted after asking how the bonus structure works for job offer

I recently received a job offer for a company that I was excited for. I was referred by a colleague. I interviewed with who would be my boss, and interviewed with the CEO.

It took 10 days to get the offer. I told them my currently salary, and didn’t not even fluff as I dislike my current job.

The offer came in at $25,000 below what I make now. In addition to the salary, the offer letter said “$XX,XXX salary + potential bonus.” It did not explain the potential amount of the bonus or how the bonus is structured (metrics that I need to hit, company health, etc.).

I emailed the recruiter about the bonus. The response was “the bonus structure has not been shared with me, but I know it could be as high as $X”. Even if the bonus paid out 100%, I would still be taking a 12% paycut. I thanked the recruiter and asked for 24 hours which they agreed to.

The following day, I asked if the salary is negotiable. The stated that they could only raise the potential bonus amount to 20% of salary. I then asked again how the bonus works and how it gets triggered. The recruiter said that the CEO would call me to explain the bonus.

My last communication with them was Friday. I’ve been waiting for the call. My potential start date was 11/2. What did I do wrong?

Career development 3rd-year AI & Data Science student from Hyderabad: what should I study for which roles? Open to any direction

I’m a 3rd-year B.Tech student (AI & Data Science) in Hyderabad, and placement season is close. I want to prepare properly instead of guessing.

I’m not locked into one role. I’m open to anything where I can contribute and keep growing, whether that’s software engineering, data analyst, ML/AI engineer, backend, full-stack, QA, or something I haven’t heard of. I’m ready to put in the work on whatever skills a role needs.

So far I’ve been building projects across full-stack (React, Node, MERN) and AI/ML (RAG pipelines, FastAPI, Python), and I’m working through DSA. Beyond that, I don’t have a clear map of what to prioritise.

It would help a lot if you could share:

  1. Which roles are worth targeting as a fresher in India, especially Hyderabad?
  2. For the role you work in, which skills, tools or concepts mattered most in your first job, and which are overrated?
  3. What would you do differently if you were in my position, a year before placements?
  4. Any resources, certifications or project types that helped you get noticed?

I’d also like to hear from people who work in roles outside the usual “SDE or data scientist” picture. Thanks for reading, and any advice, even a single line, is appreciated.

Post-interview Would you accept this job offer, or are these red flags? (Recent college grad, first full-time job)

Recent grad here (BFA, no full-time experience yet), and I'd love some outside perspective.
I applied for an Operations Coordinator role at a small B2B company (under 10 employees) and had a 2-hour interview, mostly with the owner. Everyone was really kind. They repeatedly said there are no wrong answers, they don't expect me to know things right away, and they'd be patient while training me. The posting estimated $45k–$50k with benefits, and it's only 12 minutes from my house.

Here's what's giving me pause:
The owner is severely overworked: He said he stays up until 2:00 AM most nights to get things done and admitted he should have hired someone months ago because the team is stretched thin and feels bad about it.

Chaotic expectations: They asked if I'd be comfortable covering coworkers' roles when they're out and switching tasks unexpectedly throughout the day.

Vague scope: It sounded like I'd be trained on "a bit of everything," well beyond the original posting.

The interview dynamic: I’m pretty sure I was the only person they interviewed, it felt a bit rushed because of trade shows, and pay/benefits never actually came up in person.

Last night I got an official offer, but it's an initial 90-day full-time position, with the intent to move to permanent if it's a good fit. No where on the listing was this mentioned. And they want me to start as soon as next week.

Furthermore, the offer email focused heavily on content and e-commerce work for their new direct-to-consumer sister company based on my creative/animation background. Even though my background didn’t come up in the interview and the original posting was listed mostly as B2B operations/admin with some e-commerce and web support, it feels like the job description completely shifted.

I have a call with the owner to discuss compensation, benefits, and timing. I really need a job, the commute is amazing, and the people seem genuinely nice, but I'm super nervous about the workload, the trial period, and the shifting scope.

Appreciate any advice!

Interviews What Does it Mean?!

I’ve attended many interviews over the past 23 years of my working life, and maybe I’m reading into this observation too much, or perhaps it does mean something….

What does it mean when someone interviewing you doesn’t write anything down?
No notes. Nothing.

Am I being passed up?

Post-interview First interview in nearly four months

Earlier today I had my first interview since June. The role is for a construction company as a Preconstruction administrative assistant. I thought it would be a standard interview with someone in an HR/Manger roll and take thirty minutes or so. It became a ninety-minute interview with three separate people. First with the person I was in communication with in scheduling the interview, an SVP of Accounting/Finance, then the Preconstruction department head, and finally with one of the partners. Is this a “normal” interview process?
