This one is a full-zip made entirely from yak down. To give it the structure of a jacket, it is knit using a dense 12-gauge Milano rib stitch with absolutely no spandex, meaning it holds its shape instead of bagging out like a standard sweater. Because yak down has such a high warmth-to-weight ratio, it can actually keep you warm in the cold on its own.

For those who love outerwear, do you ever swap a lightweight jacket for a heavy, structured knit like this? Or do you strictly treat knits as mid-layers? 

Does anyone recognize this jacket or where it may be from? The small leather tag on the chest pocket makes me lean toward hand made/custom.

Hi! I recently moved to San Francisco from a place with 11 months of summer. I’m trying to decide what jackets would be good for everyday use in the winter and to also hike in (aka insulated). I’ve so far looked at Columbia’s heavenly hooded and the Trailborne Jacket. I need help deciding if anyone has other suggestions or tips on how to build my winter wardrobe, especially for someone who is always cold

In the film Lady Vengeance (2005), where the main character wears a long trench coat style, with what look almost like lapels when folded down, but can be folded up for a super-high collar look. I saw that there was a post about this exact jacket years ago, but there was no luck in finding it... This is ideally what I'm looking for, but I can't seem to find anything like it anywhere, except maybe these?:

In short, I am looking for a jacket that has an extremely high neck, that can be undone and folded down, ideally into something that looks like an oversized collar. I'm not even sure what the name of this style is, if it even has one... Any info would be very, very appreciated!!!

It's been 3 or 4 years since I got this off someone online. According to them, this was bought in HK, the item was dry cleaned but never used. It still had the extra buttons in a plastic ziploc bag attached to the care tag when I got it. They never said when this was bought.

I know it's Tough Jeansmith. Their online archives only went back to 2011, and this was not in there. Was this a one-off, a seasonal experiment of the time, or something else? I've been looking for one of these in L size, but it looks like even just information about the coat is hard to find. Even Copilot and Duck AI cant find anything about it now.

What I do know:

1. It's inspired by different military coats(trench, peacoat, aviator)

2. the plaid fabric is not tartan

3. the care and neck tags don't show any idientifying marks, model numbers, or manufacture dates

4. it's from a Union Jack line, most likely fueled by the Cool Britannia movement

5. Tough Jeansmith is a Bauhaus brand. Tough Jeansmith's last post on facebook is from May 2023, they may not be active on social media anymore. Bauhaus does not have a clue what this is, I reached out to them approx. 2 years ago.

at this point, I have accepted that I won't find this in any other size......I don't think I'll find another, but I'm happy to be proven wrong. I'd be happy to just get more information about it. Thanks in advance!

I got this in sheep leather, actually it looks nice but when i try to do the hug movement it is a bit restricting especially when it is zipped up it is tight in the chest and armpits. Will it loosen enough? Do you think i should size up? Honestly I don’t want to deal with the return but it is a bit expensive so please help me.
