Advise Replace my iPhone 16 Pro Max + mini 7 with the Duo?
I have a 512GB 16 Pro Max and a 256GB mini 7. I mostly use the mini for videos, manga, and occasional notes, with 2 Windows laptops for uni work.
The appeal of the Duo is having everything in my pocket. Weight isn’t an issue—I just like the idea of carrying one device instead of two. But I’m unsure about the viewing experience and first-gen durability.
Anyone here replaced their mini with a foldable? Would you make the switch for my usage, or keep both?

Advise iPhone Duo or iPad Mini
Thinking of canceling my iPhone Duo order and waiting to see if a new iPad mini comes out soon.
This morning I saw a post by Mac Rumors saying Apple accidentally posted on their French regulatory site the new iPad mini folio for an unreleased iPad mini model.
I unfortunately got a Dec 7 shipping window for my duo order.
Also, as I’ve been walking around and living life, I frequently find myself wondering how I’d use the Duo and how often I would unfold the phone when I’m not home.
I also loved my iPad mini 6 that I traded in ahead of the duo release.
So now I’m debating on whether to cancel my duo order and see what iPad mini comes out?
I guess the later shipping window I got also gives me a chance to see if there are any major issues with the duo like a fragile inner screen, etc

Advise Clarity on if you need an iPad Mini or not.
Hi everyone,
Saw a post where the guy was questioning if he made the right decision after his purchase, so I thought about dropping this post.
This post is about how I use my iPad mini and what justifies you buying one.
So I’ve got a Mini 6 for about 5 years at still use it almost daily. I got this device in my early days of college and idealised it as an EDC note-taking and multitasking device. And from day 1 the device fit right where I wanted it to.
I have a windows laptop (zephyrus g14) for heavier tasks and gaming so I was not looking for a lighter laptop replacement. That is where the mini came. The mini imo is the only device in the lineup that actually acts as an iPad, a true one. It fulfils the requirement of a bigger screen than a phone while being lightweight and easy to carry around.
I quickly found myself reaching for the iPad more than often, maybe to glance at notes or make a quick jot, making me a lot more productive.
Now that I work and most of my work relies on a laptop the iPad has taken a different area of my life.
It has now become a very easy to use media consumption device. It’s perfect for a bedtime episode or chapter. (Yes I read books on iPad too) and a perfect device to watch movies in aircraft.
To be honest iPad mini was never about being the “absolute beast” of an iPad. It was about being what iPad truly meant- “being a bridge between your phone and your laptop” and the iPad mini shines there.
No, the iPad mini is not for everyone, but if you are the guy who needs one, you already know it. You are just afraid that if you buy one it is just going to prove you right.

Advise Should i just pull the trigger on the Ipad mini 7 or should i wait for the Ipad mini 8
I've been eyeing the iPad mini for a while now and was planning on using it for school and other productivity stuff. However, there have been a lot of rumors that the new iPad mini 8 is coming; some rumors say it's going to have an OLED screen.
This will be my 2nd apple product. I have the 16 Pro Max and have been eyeing an iPad for a while, and preferably the mini, since I want the portability (I know some of you would think that the size difference is not that big, but for me it is more than enough of a difference). I'm currently a third-year student and planning to take my license, etc. That would be the main purpose of the device, and second to that would just be media consumption, gaming, video editing and streaming monitoring. Although I'm not in a rush to purchase the iPad, I would love to hear your opinions on this. I also would love to know if the OLED would be worth the wait. Personally, I have an Android phone that isn't OLED and is still on 60 Hz, but it doesn't seem to bother me at all switching from that to my main device (16 Pro Max). I would love to hear your opinions on this; maybe there are factors that I also missed to consider.
Disclaimer:I'm the type of person that uses their devices until they're obsolete, so I don't plan on trading it in for future models in the future/upgrading.

Advise I’ve Been Using an iPad Mini as My Phone for Years. I Don’t Think I Can Go Back.
This sounds ridiculous, but my primary device is a cellular iPad Mini.
My iPhone 13 Mini stays at home most of the time and mostly exists because Apple still requires an iPhone for some things.
My actual daily carry is:
Apple Watch Ultra (cellular)
iPad Mini (cellular)
The watch handles calls, texts, music, maps, workouts, and payments.
The Mini handles basically everything else:
Reading
Email
Reddit
YouTube
ChatGPT
Journaling
Writing
Video calls
Content creation
I originally bought the first iPad Mini when it launched and loved the form factor, but it wasn’t practical for me without cellular. When I eventually got a cellular Mini, I realized it could do almost everything I wanted from a phone while being much better for reading, writing, and general productivity.
The biggest surprise is how little I miss having a traditional smartphone in my pocket.
The larger screen makes everything feel less cramped, and because it’s a bigger device, I don’t pull it out mindlessly as often as I would a phone.
It’s not perfect. The obvious downside is that it’s not pocketable. Every bag I own has to fit an iPad Mini.
There are also occasional situations where an actual phone is required. My dentist needed one for Invisalign scans, for example.
But at this point, probably 95% of my personal digital life happens on the Mini.
If it broke tomorrow, I’d immediately buy another one.
The reason I’m paying attention to the foldable iPhone rumors is simple: it would be the first device that might actually replace both my iPhone and my iPad Mini.
Curious if anyone else is using an iPad Mini this way, or if I’m just completely insane.
My iPad Mini specs:
6th generation (purchased 2021, replaced once due to screen shatter summer 2022)
256 GB
Cellular enabled (Metro by T-Mobile $15 unlimited tablet plan)
iPad OS 26.5

Advise iPad Mini 8 specs are not a problem for me, but…?
iPad Mini 8 specs are not a problem for me. My last Mini was the 2. Been waiting for this for a long time. I have a very mobile and mostly on-my-feet at work. iPad Mini fits my lab coat perfectly. 512gb wifi+cellular for me since I need the memory for stored content while traveling.
The only question for me now is, standard or nano-texture?

Advise Ipad mini as an ereader - my honest opinion....
Hello.
I have an ereader for about 2 years and I love it. I bought a kindle signature and returned it and then bought a kobo libra colour. I felt in love immediatly and use it a lot.
Two weeks ago I bought a ipad mini for a lot of purposes like gaming, dailly produtivity, social media, streaming and so on... and tried reading too.
I've checked here what where the best settings and I prepared the mini for it. I have to say that I already had applied the ipad mini paperwhite 3. I've read one book on the ipad on the books app (that is very good by the way), almost entirely, and I concluded that if you dont have an ereader, the ipad can be a way to read. But, if you have an ereader, at least my ereader and similiars, well, the ereader is a way to go!
I decided that when I have at hand, I'll use it.. But if I go out, I wont take both with me... if I want to read I'll do it on the ipad. of course it is a trip of a couple of days or more I'll take both on my sling!
I just wanted to share my honest opinion on this. perhaps it helps someone.... I dont know....
cheers 😄

Advise iPad minis are so much more powerful than people think!
I see so many people just buying iPad minis (eg 6 or 7) just for note taking and there is so many debates on whether the 6 is powerful enough.
YES IT IS. your iPad mini can be used for so much more than note taking. My iPad mini 6 has been a HIGH powered gaming device for the past 4 and a half years and it’s still going strong with every single game on ultra high graphics including path of titans Roblox ect. My iPad mini 2 was my gaming device from 2016-2022 and it was also amazing. My mini 2 is 10 years old and still works JUST FINE.
Your iPad mini can do so much more.

Advise Switch from iPad Mini 7 to iPad Pro 11”
No regrets I guess, I needed the speakers (a lot better) and 120hz for content creation and editing feels easier bc it’s smoother and has bigger screen. Also lot smoother when taking notes, both are portable and useful! battery lasts kind of the same imo. If you’re planning to switch from an iPad Mini to an 11” iPad Pro, it’s worth it.

Advise iPad Mini to iPad Pro 11”?
I’ve been enjoying the minis in size and portability they offer, I had an A16 before and sold it bc it’s heavy and a lil “too big” to carry. But now I’m used to my Pro iPhone with 120hz, also it’s louder than my iPad Mini lol. Will I regret getting a 11” Pro? I’m planning to sell these and get an iPad Pro M2 (used). Will I regret it or it’s gonna be worth it?

Advise Engraved mini stuck in the processing black hole…
Howdy yall - not sure if anyone has had any experiences with engravings and shipping, I know engravings aren’t super popular because of resale value etc…
I bought a mini 7 with an engraving on September 30, and I do have a charge pending on my Apple Card. The delivery date has been pushed back twice…. My new window is October 13-15 (this week) but it’s still stuck on processing.
Should I be hopeful that it will ship? Should I call Apple and cancel the order? Should I be patient and just wait?
I thought “hey, free engraving I’ve never done that…. Sounds cool” - not my best choice now that it’s been almost 2 weeks. I might just be being impatient though!
Thanks for any input :)

Advise Is this a good deal or should I wait for Black Friday?
Hello! This is my first time posting anything anywhere on reddit. I have been planning on buying the ipad mini 7 from Best Buy for weeks now and have been saving up for black friday. I was hoping for a good or better deal by then but ive been seeing stuff around saying that its unlikely to go lower than it is now. Best Buy currently has an "Early Black Friday Deals" going on but only until 11/19. I know it's kind of a stretch but maybe someone who works at Best Buy could confirm whether it's would be worth it to wait for BF in the comments lol. Thanks in advance!

Advise Introducing iPhone duo lite!
iPad mini is just a little bigger than a iPhone duo.
Want to know what dual screen is like?
Turn the iPad mini landscape and do split screen.
Of course it’s not like iPhone duo where it’s foldable and stuff.
But it has wifi calling, nearly same size main screen
Dual or triple screen. That’s why I now call it iPhone duo lite!

Advise iPad mini for travel?
Just for some quick context, I already have an iPad Pro 13" and a MacBook Pro. Recently I went on a trip away from home for about 5 days, I had to pack lightly though and wasn't able to fit either my MacBook or iPad after having everything else I needed packed. During my trip I had the idea that maybe I could have brought an iPad with me if I had an iPad mini, and once I got home I took some measurements and an iPad mini would just fit in the crossbody bag that I took with me and that I carry around every time I leave home. I do travel quite a bit, and while most times I'm always able to bring my iPad or MacBook with me, I'm having to just carry them by hand and ever since I confirmed that an iPad mini could fit in my bag that I take with me, I cant get the idea out of my head about getting an iPad mini. I am aware that an oled iPad mini is around the corner sometime soon, but if this iPad mini were to be just for when I need to pack lighter and don't want to carry more than one bag, the improvements of that wouldn't be much of a concern for me. I might even just get it used or refurbished anyway. I'd like some more opinions on it though, this just feels like kind of a dumb reason to want an iPad mini, but maybe thats just me.

Advise One of the reasons I got the iPad Mini
I originally got the iPad Mini for a few reasons, and one of the main ones was to be able to play games on. One specifically being call of duty Mobile.
At the time I got the Mini, this game did not take up nearly as much space as it does now, so I got the 128 GB model Mini 7th Gen.
Well, guess what? Codm now takes up 52-53 GB of storage space with basically every single thing downloaded.
Fortunately I don’t have a ton of other apps on the Mini, just prime video, Reddit, Facebook and Facebook messenger and a few other apps that aren’t too large.
What should I do going forward? I want to be prepared instead of finding myself with a problem on my hands this fall after launch of iPadOS 27 and the realistic possibility that this game will grow even more in size.

Advise Whose **** do I have to **** to get 120hz OLED with Nano-Texture Display?
I’m not ***, but I’ll do whatever it takes. For all of us.
Personally, I care more about 120hz than OLED. Seems I’m in for disappointment.
I’ll buy it for my wife regardless - she’ll love it. If I like it, I’ll get me one too. If she likes it enough to replace her 16 Plus with the Duo, I’ll get her that and keep the Mini for myself (love my two iPhone Airs).
I’ve been a 13” iPad Pro user since the first gen was released in 2015. I had the 1st gen, 3rd gen, and now I’m in love my 13” M5 w/ Nano. Eager to try the Mini out around the house and experiment with the smaller form factor. I’m most excited for the typing experience without a keyboard attached. I imagine it may replace my phone entirely at home.
Can it fit in my jeans back pocket?
What do you most enjoy doing on your iPad Mini?
What colors do you think they’ll have? Any rumors about that?

Advise iPad Mini to iPad Pro M4 Upgrade, Will I Regret Losing the Mini Size?
Currently using an iPad mini the latest one, and honestly I was perfectly happy with it… until I saw the iPad Pro in person today 😭
That thing is ridiculously slim, premium, and the 120Hz display felt sooo smooth that now I’m seriously tempted.
I’m thinking of selling my iPad mini to CeX and upgrading to the iPad Pro M4. The difference for me would be around £350.
But I’m confused about whether I’ll regret losing the mini size. I mainly use my iPad for casual browsing, reading, YouTube, social media, and lying in bed with it.
What I love about the mini:
• Super light and easy to hold one-handed
• Comfortable for long reading sessions
• Easy to carry everywhere
• Feels “grab and go”
What tempted me about the Pro:
• That insanely smooth 120Hz display
• Slim and premium design
• Bigger immersive screen
• Feels very futuristic and “luxury”
My concern is:
Will the iPad Pro become uncomfortable/heavy for casual use? Especially while reading in bed or holding it for long periods? Will I miss the portability of the mini after the honeymoon phase ends?
Would genuinely love advice from people who moved from a mini to a Pro, especially if you later regretted it… or loved it.

Advise Mini 7 or 8; Upgrading from iPad Pro 12.9 in. M1 (2021)
Like many of you, I’ve been waiting for the mini 8 to finally be announced. To preface things I’m a freelance digital artist in university who primarily used an M1 iPad Pro 12.9 (2021) for digital notes, but with my recent purchase of a MacBook Air M4 (2025) I have found lugging around two large screens to be overkill for both campus and at-home setups.
Flash forward to now, I’m eyeing both the mini 7 and 8 with the intentions of drawing, taking digital notes, gaming, and consuming media in mind, and for all other demanding tasks to be for my MacBook Air. My question to everyone is whether the mini 8, price and added features alike, really justifies purchasing it over the mini 7?

Advise Is it worth getting?
So, I’m a med student in my clinical years before internship and my current ipad is slowly giving up. My current ipad is ipad air from 2022 i think, it slows down sometimes or lags and the battery drops quickly when i’m using it for my classes. For example, I will come to college with a fully charged ipad, by the end of the first hour the battery has dropped to 79 or 80%, by the end of hour 2, it’s 60%, once it reaches 30% the battery depletes SO fast. I’ve even seen my ipad go from 25% to 12% in 30ish minutes.
I’m thinking about trading in this ipad for an ipad mini mainly for the sake of convenience. My ipad with its case is heavy and during hospital placements I find it inconvenient sometimes.
IMO, ipad mini might be good for the upcoming years when i’ll be in the hospital and i can just put it in my pocket. However, i’ve see people saying it’s not great for taking notes, i usually annotate lecture slides in the middle of classes.
So would it be a bad decision to switch to an ipad mini?

Advise How do you take notes with your IPAD mini?
A couple years ago I downgraded in size from an iPad Air M2 11 inch, to the iPad mini. Since then i’ve never regretted my choice because it’s lighter, more portable, it’s an easier ratio from my size to the device. I really love it, there’s just one issue: taking notes.
I’m starting schooling again and I really enjoyed having digital notes on the Air. Every now and then I’ll journal on my Mini using the apple pencil but I notice I have to adjust the screen a lot or scroll down because i zoom in quite a bit when i write on it. It just isn’t as fluid as i like.
Any tips or suggestions? How do you take notes with your iPad mini? ◡̈

Advise iPad mini... incoming!
Hi all!
Made an impulsive decision yesterday... I'm getting rid of my 13inch iPad Pro (M2), mainly because I don't really use it as I also have the 13inch MacBook Air which always ends up being the go to!
In its place I have a 2024 iPad mini arriving today... my iPad "wants" are mainly casual stuff like a bit of reading, some web browsing, and maybe some social media etc, which of course my pro was WAY to big and heavy to do comfortably, which is why I guess I always ended up just using my phone 🤷🏻
As "mini fans"... what other amazing use cases can I look forward to with my new little toy?
