I have updated my ip 17 pro to iOS 27.2 but my Apple Music icon didn’t change to that new liquid glass one. When will it get updated?

What is your experience so far? My iPhone 16 pro max is really smooth. Apps open faster, battery is great. Nice update.

I can't be the only one seeing their refresh rate is having issues.

The issue I've been facing for a while is this - whenever I use the camera app or hang up using the phone app my phone suddenly uses 120hz and drops down to 60 hz for no reason at all.

What I found fixed this is opening the camera app and closing it afterwards and suddenly my phone is running back at 120hz. I have never had refresh rate issues with my previous phone that's ridiculous.

Anyone else with a Duo running into an issue where their FaceTime calls no longer collapse to PiP mode when the device is open & held horizontal? The only options seem to be split screen (picture 1) or have it completely collapsed in Dynamic Island (picture 2). While held vertical & open the options are only full screen or collapsed to the Dynamic Island which seems like a very odd design choice.

Any resolution to this?

Could there be something behind the camera glass? Cuz the glass is 100% clear since I wiped it with microfibr clothe. Do you guys think there’s smudge on the camera lens itself? Because this phone I got is 2nd hand and could be opened before.

I just made the switch to iOS (iPhone Duo) after 12 years on Android. Everything is working fine with 1-on-1 iMessages and SMS, but I'm having a persistent issue with group chats that consist entirely of iPhone users.

The Issue: When I try sending a message in a group thread with other iPhone users, the blue sending progress bar appears under my blue message bubble, hangs, and then I get a time-sensitive notification saying: "Message Failed to Send - The message failed to send."

What I’ve already tried:
Toggled MMS Messaging & Group Messaging ON in Settings > Messages.
Turn iMessage OFF and back ON, verified my phone number in Send & Receive.
Deleted old threads and started new ones.
Restarted my phone.

Has anyone else run into this when migrating off Android? Is there an RCS unlinking delay, a carrier APN setting, or an iMessage routing issue I'm missing?

I’ve noticed over the past week or so that all of my apps that utilize Apple Pay for in-app payments (DoorDash, Lyft, DraftKings, etc) are no longer allowing me to use Apple Pay. I either get an error message from the app or I get absolutely no output. Has anyone else experienced this, and is there a solution to fix this?

Let me not bury the lead - I have an iPhone 11 that’s running iOS 18.7.1. I was planning to ride out on this phone until the wheels fell off, and I’m wanting to make sure that this Apple Pay issue isn’t a sign that the wheels have already fallen off.

My kids have 9th-gen iPads and we're trying to keep them from chatting with school friends all evening after they've already used up their screen time allowance. Messages app is set to "Always Allowed" so they can still contact immediate family (specific contacts) whenever they need to, but that also seems to let let them keep messaging friends indefinitely until the scheduled downtime.

I see that iOS27 now lets you set specific contacts and apps as "Always Allowed", even after a Time Allowance is reached (here).

Does anyone know if this actually restricts messages to other contacts once the time limit is hit while still letting them message select "Always Allowed" contacts (family members)? Or does Messages remain fully usable because the app itself is "Always Allowed"? Has anyone tried this? Otherwise it seems I have to decide between taking Messages off the "Always Allowed" list and limiting them from contacting family after Messages' time limit is used up or just... leaving it as-is?

I'm having an issue with Live Captions, which I rely on heavily to function in the world because I'm deaf. I've been through four different Apple Support techs via chat, and none of them seem to understand the problem or have been able to help me fix it. They keep trying to blame my hearing devices, which aren't the problem. So I'm hoping someone here might have some ideas.

My hearing devices (cochlear implants) connect to my iPhone via Bluetooth, just like any other Bluetooth headphones or earbuds. They do NOT use MFi. As far as the iPhone is concerned, they are regular bluetooth audio devices, not hearing aids.

Before iOS 27:

When I turned on Live Captions to caption someone speaking in front of me, my iPhone simply used its built-in microphone to pick up their speech and display captions on the screen. That's it. It didn't initiate a Bluetooth audio session with my hearing devices, and I could continue hearing the person speaking through my cochlear implants' external microphones.

Since updating to iOS 27:

Now, whenever I activate Live Captions, my iPhone automatically establishes an active Bluetooth audio connection to my hearing devices, as though it's preparing to stream audio to them.

But it doesn't actually transmit any sound. It simply activates the Bluetooth audio connection, which causes my cochlear implants to switch away from their external microphones - which means I can't hear the person in front of me or anything else happening around me at all.

The issue is that Live Captions never used to initiate that session in the first place, and there's no reason for it to do so when I'm simply using my iPhone's microphone to caption an in-person conversation.

My hearing devices are behaving exactly as they're supposed to when a Bluetooth audio session is activated - disabling their external microphones is normal, intended behavior. Usually, that's exactly what I want when I'm listening to music, watching videos, making phone calls, etc.

But when Live Captions triggers that Bluetooth audio connection, I have to choose between being able to hear someone and being able to caption what they're saying. I used to be able to do both simultaneously.

The behavior is directly tied to Live Captions being active.

• Live Captions ON: My iPhone activates a Bluetooth audio session with my cochlear implants, even though no sound is being transmitted. My implants disable their external microphones.
• Live Captions OFF: The Bluetooth audio session ends, and my cochlear implants automatically reactivate their external microphones.

This happens consistently and only started after updating to iOS 27.

I want to restore the behavior Live Captions had before iOS 27: use the iPhone's microphone to caption speech around me WITHOUT initiating a Bluetooth audio session with my cochlear implants.

I don't want to disconnect or unpair my hearing devices from Bluetooth entirely. I need them to remain paired. I just want Live Captions to stop activating Bluetooth audio when I'm using it to caption in-person conversations.

This was working perfectly before the iOS update, and nothing about my cochlear implants or their software has changed.

Does anyone know if there's a setting I've missed, a workaround, or a way to prevent Live Captions from initiating a Bluetooth audio session when it's only using the iPhone's microphone for transcription?

I'd really appreciate any ideas. This is a pretty significant accessibility issue for me.

I've tried all the usual troubleshooting steps thanks to the 4 different techs I talked to, like "reset all settings" and other things.

I've also tried manually changing the audio output back to the iPhone through Control Center while Live Captions is active, but it immediately switches back to my hearing devices. Live Captions appears to be actively overriding my audio output selection, so I can't even use that as a workaround.

Did anyone else get an Apple Account Verification pop-up (specifically when going into settings) where you have to input your iCloud password in the last day or two?

I got one prior to updating to IOS27.2, & also the day after updating. Wondering if this normal / because of the recent IOS update. Thanks!

Has anyone experienced Wi-Fi issues on their iPhone 17 Pro Max since updating to iOS 27.2 ?

This is the first time I’ve had any Wi-Fi-related problems with my phone since owning it. Every now and then, the internet stops working while I’m connected to Wi-Fi, even though all my other devices continue to work perfectly fine on the same network at the same time.

On other occasions, I’ve noticed that my phone shows 5G instead of the Wi-Fi icon, suggesting that the Wi-Fi connection has been dropped. However, when I go into Settings, it still shows that I’m connected to Wi-Fi, even though there’s clearly no working internet connection. I can confirm this by running a Speedtest.

For reference, Wi-Fi Assist is turned off, and I’ve already tried resetting the network settings, but the issue persists.

my phone randomly started turning on subtitles for any video i watch on any app, like youtube or X. even after manually turning captions every single time off it still automatically turns on again whenever i open the app again. i probably messed around in IOS settings and accidentally turned something on but idk where to look now to disable it. can anyone help? is there a setting i need to fix to stop this from happening?

Anyone having the “I’m having trouble with the connection. Please try again later” error pop-up once you try to ask Siri AI about a highlighted text, or ask it to compose a message while inside of the Messages app? I don’t know what use cases there are for Siri AI?

this happens in ios 27.2

So starting a few days ago any photos I receive in messages just shows up as a file and I have to download to see. All audio messages I get show up as 00:00 and unplayable.

I turned my phone off and on
I updated to the most recent 27.2 iOS. But I have an old device still connected to my iMessage and iCloud and it’s on 26.0.1 iOS and the audio messages and photos work perfectly fine on it! Is this an iOS bug or what?!?

iPhone 14Pro For the last two versions of iOS, my text message alerts do not make a sound. The phone is unmuted. Do not disturb is off. All other alerts make a sound. I am using a custom alert tone. I have restarted the phone multiple times. I updated to the latest version. I made a custom alert because none of the default tones are loud enough. I have custom alert tones on all the other alerts, and they still make a sound. It's specifically the text message alert. Thanks for any suggestions or help.

I have a 16 pro max I recently started to notice starting on Sunday some of my contacts are just disappearing it’ll just be the persons number and not name anymore. I’m on IOS 27.0.1 if that means anything. I tried to restart my phone but it did nothing. If I go to the number and try to add it to an existing contact it’s not there. What could this be?

I believe, starting with iOS 26 (now on iOS 27.2), automatic insertion of punctuation, such as commas, and question marks, occurs even with smart punctuation (Settings > General > Keyboards > Smart Punctuation) turned off. How do I eliminate this random automatic insertion of punctuation marks?

Hello! Auto correct is very hit or miss on my end since I’m using a two language keyboard so automatic proofreading was a very useful feature for me (the blue underline on words/sentences)

Best way I’ve found out to trigger it is to write “your” instead of “you’re”, typing “ive, dont, shouldnt, etc) or not capitalizing “ i “, however it takes very long for it to show up.

Anyone else experience the same issue?
