I work as an editor and some of my clients shoot on their iPhones and there seems to be absolutely no way for them to send it to me without it getting compressed beyond recognition.
Even 4k files seem to get compressed down to 1280 x 720?
Shared album, sending a link, everything seems to compress it?
My only assumption is that this is done on purpose to keep people in the apple eco-system?
The easiest option would be to send it as "Document" on WhatsApp (tedious, if you have many files), but even that is disabled, as videos and photos do not show up, when you pick the "Document" option on an iPhone.
This is so frustrating to work with.
I've tried to have it upload to GoogleDrive, but even that seems to be throttled in someway.
I remember leaving a client's phone on the upload screen for hours and it still didn't finish a simple 4GB upload.
I don't know, guys! This seems soooo malicious and kinda makes me hate them for this approach.
And many times, my clients have to send it to me remotely, so there is no option of connecting and extracting the photos directly.
Now that I've expressed my displeasure...
Do you iPhone users have any solution that fits my unique (yet not so unique) problem?
