The Kingdom of Grailum WIP

WIP regional map a kingdom in my dnd world!

I'm trying out a new style for my maps and I would love some feedback on what I should do to improve on it

I am planning on adding more stamps that help differentiate the biomes throughout the kingdom, and I also still need to add the major roads between settlements

If you're curious, this kingdom is one of 9 kingdoms within the Empire of Vegalla. It is a majority human kingdom (an exception to halflings that live in the desert to the west) and is the northeastern most kingdom within this empire. It borders the Nation of Trotus to the north (Humans known as Skeldi, Dwarves known as Frokvanni, and Drow), the Elven kingdom of Lilahil to the west, another kingdom of Vegalla, Katahada to the south (Armidillo people), and the nation of Eyisha to the east (WIP nation but most likely humans and halflings).

World Map Inkarnate inspired the world map in my game - how did I do?

Inkarnate was a big inspiration for the world map in my game, Necrolord. I wanted that old parchment-map feeling, with little settlements, forests and winding rivers, but with things moving around as you explore.

Here’s a short wander through it. I’d love to hear what you think of the atmosphere and readability. Does it make you want to see what’s beyond the next forest?

If you’d like to explore it yourself, check out my free demo:

Maptober Candy Dungeon (Maptober 26th)

Three bilehags live in the cave known as the "Candy Dungeon" The hags are weak & feeble, they must use cunning or trickery to lure in prey. They love most of all the taste of small children. To have them all fattened up & sweet they line the cavern paths with sweets leading into the bleeding heart of their den.

World Map The two continents

Two Continents

The continents of Fidena and Naukra share a history spanning millennia. Whether through conflict, agreements, or trade, the two have always been linked by various events that shaped the lives of humans, elves, dwarves, and the Draconics. While the dwarves established their kingdoms within mountain ranges and the elves within their forests, humans and Draconics divided the coastlines and other territories among themselves. A segment of the population from the Draconics' high realm broke away to found a new kingdom on Naukra; it flourished and expanded over the following centuries, giving rise to several cities. Simultaneously, various human dynasties built and expanded their own kingdoms and empires—frequently clashing with one another. Elves and dwarves generally steered clear of human conflicts, focusing instead on their own realms while maintaining open trade. The maritime republics, meanwhile—which saw very little conflict—dedicated themselves to commerce, amassing great wealth and opening their doors to every race inhabiting the land.

Regional Map Cathrys HB

Hey guys, made a map for my campaign as the party is currently traversing around CATHRYS a plane of rot, decay and pestilence, obviously it may not be 100% fitting to base D&D lore but I took some creative freedom and improvised some of the details around mixing different inspirations.

Regardless of that, let me know what you guys think!

Updated stairs tutorial?

I am losing my goddamn mind and ready to throw my computer out a window trying to make stairs that look even halfway decent. All the guides I can find are from before the big update and nothing works like it does in the videos. Does anyone know of an updated tutorial anywhere?

Sci-Fi Map Car Park [battlemap] from Angela Maps - 3 versions! [art]

Who doesn't love the smell of old exhaust in the morning? Every GM knows the most dynamic experience they can provide in their modern or near-modern game is to give their players a chance to find the perfect spot to park their vehicle. Hence this map! Definitely not also well suited to shady dealings, wrong-doings, and shootouts of all sorts. Featuring three floors and plenty of gritty mood lighting, this map might have your players asking: DM dude, where's my car?!

My maps are hooked up to work with Foundry VTT and Fantasy Grounds.
My maps are available on my patreon and my website.
Buy me a Ko-fi!

Tips for making inset maps?

So I’ve made a large continent map, and now I need to create “child” maps or inset maps so that I can zoom in and add more details.
I watched this video:

https://youtu.be/7BaArPkE9PU?is=M8TDkN_SBEF6uivi

Rather than using a hand drawn map, I took a screenshot of the 1/4 of my continent map and I’ve started tracing it.
The problem is this is very time consuming and I’m wondering if anyone knows any tips or methods to more quickly and easily create regional maps?

Hey everone!

I'll be back to posting map regularly next month (pirate campaign starting then!), but until then I might as well post some maps I haven't shared before from my scifi campaign that wrapped in September.

Perhaps you can find some use for a Field Test dynamic map? Boom goes the dynamite!

Find this map and more on my Inkarnate profile: https://inkarnate.com/profile/1B2pgd

Most maps are clonable, this one is not atm!

Regional Map Mountains and Foothills Critique

Post image
23 Upvotes

Looking for a little constructive criticism and some guidance to help me move forward. My goal is not to create a realistic map. This is for a fantasy world, so close enough is good enough.

Disclaimer: I used a really light land color just to work in. It makes things pop out a little more for these older eyeballs :)

  • Scale is 60x40... Is that too large? What kind of performance issues may I run into as the map gets more populated?
  • How do my mountains look?
  • Do my Rivers make sense?
  • Overall reception?

Sci-Fi Map Rooftop Landing Hub Map Pack

Post image
21 Upvotes

I've been working on a new location for Cyberpunk and Shadowrun games: a corporate rooftop landing hub, designed for executive extractions, infiltration jobs, aircraft sabotage and the inevitable moment when a clean getaway stops being clean.

The idea was to make it more than a static battlemap. The same location has four states:

Operational: Active landing pads, routine security and normal access.

Lockdown: Security converges, access points close and escape routes become restricted.

Emergency Evacuation: Crowds, competing priorities and limited aircraft turn the rooftop into a race against time.

Blackout: Lighting and communications fail, landing guidance becomes unreliable, and the crew can no longer count on their ride arriving.

That means you can start with a relatively straightforward extraction and change the map's state as the players make decisions or the situation escalates.

I've also put together an accompanying Ops Brief with job hooks, site intelligence, security posture, escalation triggers, environmental pressures and optional complications, so there's some material to help run the location rather than just a map to put on the table.

I make these resources under vdcyber, mainly for cyberpunk and Shadowrun-style games. I'd be interested to hear how other GMs would use a location like this in Cyberpunk RED.

Would you run it as a corporate extraction, an infiltration job, or a full-on rooftop firefight?

Link to the free pack etc is in the comments.
