Other Stop suggesting posting in communities you are banned in

I keep getting recommendations to post in communities, that I am banned in. I think this is more of a troll than a feature. At least put a warning in the suggestion or remove it entirely.

Let premium members opt out of AB testing

It's really a simple thing. Premium members should be allowed to opt out of AB testing of features if they don't want to see changes in how Reddit operates that aren't quite stable or in the core of Reddit features yet. If users opt out of AB testing, they only get the features of the site that are currently released as stable and currently permanent features of the site.

I think this will drive quite a few users to get premium so they don't have to be test subjects and I think the current premium users will appreciate this change since we do get a lot of people asking to opt out of things like the For You feed, for example.

Moderator My idea is: allow moderators to sticky any comment

As a moderator, there are occasionally comments that answer the original question perfectly, but don't have as many upvotes due to being later or for other reasons.

I'd like it to be possible to sticky any comment, rather than just ones posted by yourself. (I know it's possible to comment with a link to the post and sticky that, but that's not always the ideal solution.)

Other My idea is: Content in NSFW subs shouldn't be suggested based on content in fashion subs and vice-versa.

I moderate a sub about socks as fashion accessories. Reddit recommends posts from NSFW subs about socks under the comments section on posts from my FASHION SUB, and I can only assume that posts on my sub are being recommended to people based on their activity in sock-related NSFW subs. It seems really obvious to make it where NSFW content can't be recommended based on fashion and vice-versa??? Or at least let moderators toggle whether they want that to be possible.

Feeds Incentivize brevity with new algorithm

As a consumer, I’m not a huge fan of the way the posts in the thread are prioritized at the top of the chain. I want to read quality posts that don’t take up a whole page. For efficient reading and to save time on scrolling, there should be a simple algorithm that,

Instead of 100% of the prioritization going towards number of upvotes, give it 50% prioritization and give 50% that gives weight to number of characters in the post. Perhaps 75/25 would be better. It would incentivize brevity.

Perhaps I would spend less time on the app each visit but it might make for a more user-friendly experience that would bring me back more often.

Safety & Policy My idea is to auto-detect and offer to blur email addresses in uploaded images

I participate in tech support subreddits and I believe a new privacy tool would be highly beneficial. My idea is to implement a basic OCR check during image uploads to detect email addresses. If an email is found, the system could offer a quick "blur" button before publishing. This feature would greatly assist users in protecting their personal information and help moderators maintain safe environments more easily.

Mobile Web My idea is to be able to lock an image in place on the current tab when viewing a post with multiple images.

On mobile web with new Reddit, if you want to zoom in on an image, I've noticed, 9 times out of 10 that you have to click on "open image in new tab," instead of being able to pinch zoom on the page in the current tab. This can clutter a users browser tabs especially if they are like me and iften forget to close them out.

  • Currently, if you try to pinch zoom, the images immediately swipe in different directions, in my case this time it was two images to the right.
  • Instead of forcing users to open a new tab every time they want to analyze something closely, there should be a lock icon or toggle so they can have the option to zoom in freely without sliding the gallery.

That way, when someone is trying to analyze something, they can do so with the image they want without suddenly being hit with a unexpected jumpscare close up of someones hair folicle on their leg. And we can read what we came to see.

Thank you for your time.

Other My idea is - Reddit should allow users to link 2 accounts to 1 user

Reddit should allow a user to link 2 accounts to make sure the website knows that it's 1 person. this could help with issues where people who have 2 accounts may accidentally upvote the same post twice by accident. by having already told the website that the 2 accounts are linked to 1 person, the website could either disregard the 2nd accidental upvote, or something to that effect.

and by link 2 accounts, i'm not talking about merging content or anything of the accounts. (because, i believe the main reason for having 2 accounts would be to have them for separate reasons, separate topics, etc. however, even with that being the case, many need karma to get going and so even separate accounts for different purposes may be subscribed to similar "general purpose" / "meme" subreddits in order to build initial comment karma). all i'm suggesting is a way to essentially communicate to the website / platform, that "these 2 accounts are both me and if i make the mistake of upvoting something twice, it is by accident only. please disregard whenever that happens" or something like that.

Moderator Increase the size of the mod training queue

There is a limit of 15 posts that can be added to the mod training queue. For some subs, that doesn't feel like enough.

I'd like enough slots for new mods to see a mix of posts we would approve and remove, and that cover the rules that are most tricky to mod and/or that come up the most.

Also, a notification or something if a user deletes a post that is in the queue may help us maintain the queue.

Moderator My idea is - Could Reddit Pro and AutoModerator please have a conversation before recommending where I post?

I have not actually posted content from my blog like Reddit Pro recommends because I know that it will get removed by Automod for being 'self promotion' So why does Reddit pro recommend that I post it to the subreddits that I know AuroMod will ban it from?

Reddit Pro: “Hey, this subreddit would be perfect for your article. Click here to share it!”

Reddit AutoModerator: “Absolutely not. Removed.”

Me: “You two do work for the same company, right?”

How much time, effort and processing power could be saved by letting these 2 guys have a chat first?

  • Reddit Pro knows the article URL, subject and proposed destination.
  • The subreddit has published rules.
  • AutoModerator has configured filters that determine whether submissions are removed.
  • Reddit has historical moderation outcomes that could help improve recommendations.

It seems that these 2 need to be in the same 'office'.

Safety & Policy Change to Report options to include Moderator code of conduct

My suggestion is Change to Report options to include Moderator code of conduct so that users can report violations of moderator code of conduct more easily instead of having to go through several webpages to find the option.

Moderator [Feature Request / Rules Hub] my idea is Include the AI violation explanation in removal replies (or expose it to Devvit / Mod Log)

Hi team,

I've been testing Rules Hub Auto-Enforcement and love how accurately the AI evaluates posts against our community rules—especially the specific explanation it generates for moderators showing how the post violated the rule (e.g., "Auto enforced - Rule 1: <Rule Name>" followed by the 1–2 sentence AI explanation of what in the post broke the rule).

The Problem / Missing Workflow

Right now, when Rules Hub auto-enforces/removes a post: 1. No Removal Reason / Comment is sent to the user explaining which rule they broke or why their post broke it. 2. That second line—the AI explanation of how the post violated the rule—is only visible to moderators inside the Shreddit UI banner. Because users don't see that context, they are left guessing why their post was removed (leading to unnecessary modmail appeals), or moderators still have to manually step in to attach a removal reason and copy-paste the explanation.

What We Tried (Building a Devvit App to Bridge the Gap)

We built a Devvit app (rules-hub-reply) to listen for Rules Hub removelink actions, link them 1-to-1 with our Saved Removal Reasons, attach the native removal note, and automatically post a sticky removal comment combining: - Our Saved Removal Reason for that rule - The Rules Hub headline (Auto enforced - Rule X: ...) - The Rules Hub AI explanation of how the post violated the rule

However, we hit an API wall: none of the public/Devvit moderation APIs expose that second line (the AI explanation).

Technical Details for the Engineering Team

When Rules Hub auto-removes a post (logged under moderator reddit with action removelink): - Where the AI explanation currently lives: In Shreddit's GraphQL schema (PostModerationInfo / GetPreviousActions / ModQueueItemPost), the AI explanation is stored in: postInfoById.moderationInfo.modQueueReasons[].description.markdown (with icon: "AUTO_ENFORCEMENT" and title: "Auto enforced - Rule X: ..."). - Where it is missing: 1. Mod Log (Moderation.AboutLog / ModAction): details contains "Auto enforced - Rule X: <Rule Name>", but description is empty (""). 2. Mod Notes (ModNote.GetNotes): modActionData.details has the rule headline, description is empty. 3. Post Info (LinksAndComments.Info / PostV2): modQueueReasons is not mapped to the PostV2 protobuf or legacy REST fields. 4. ModQueue Trigger (modQueueTriggers): type is "AUTO_ENFORCEMENT" and message has the rule headline, but details is null.

Proposed Solutions (Either or Both Would Be Huge!)

  1. Native Rules Hub Setting: Add an option in Rules Hub Auto-Enforcement to automatically attach a linked Saved Removal Reason and include the AI-generated violation explanation in the removal comment/message to the user.
  2. Expose the AI Explanation to Devvit / Mod Log: Populate the description field on the removelink ModAction / ModLog entry (or expose moderationInfo.modQueueReasons in @devvit/public-api on the Post object / ModAction trigger) so Devvit moderation apps can include the AI explanation in automated removal comments and workflows.

Thanks for considering this—having that specific AI explanation included in the removal feedback would save moderators a ton of time and make removals much clearer for users!

Moderator My idea is to remove muting on the chat when a sub bans you

Muting is a tool that only benefits abusive mods, as it allows them to ban users and not contest the ban. The right to a defense is a fundamental principle of law; everyone has the right to defend themselves against a ban and challenge it. No one should be deprived of this right.

If a user violates the rules, they should be punished according to Reddit's rules. However, the option to permanently mute users only helps abusive mods avoid having to respond to their unfounded bans.

Feeds Business model for subreddits

spez mentioned they wanted subreddits to run their own business models and it just popped in my head.

For context, I moderate subreddit(s) related to a medical entrance examination, and we get a lot of posts related to paid promotions. Like a lot- a lot. I am very anti-promotions, because I think my community should not have to watch ads on the subreddit too when they already watch ads on the app.

Most of the promotions I get mod-mailed for promotions are from someone offering tution services, or some book publishing company, and so far I have rejected everyone of them without thinking one second.

But I don't hate money, and neither does reddit (obv).

Instead of gathering data for peronalised ads, where reddit doesn't even know for sure if its the right ad for the right user, why should the ads no go to the community?

Like food related community sets to advertise only on food subreddits, book related companies only go to promote their product on student related subreddits.

This combined with locale based advertisement would be much more precise, while strenthing the mod team. Obviously power mods need to be checked (they are still a thing, and I greately dislike them)

But its just an idea from spez's statement when discussing "money for mods" in the AMA.

Thhey just have to reserve a percentage of ad spots for this thing to roll and give it a try. Its much more personalised, much more precise and also lucrative for advertises as they know their ads are landing where their primary consumers are.

Safety & Policy My idea is to add a "clickbait headline" option to the report menu

When a post receives a certain number of these reports as set by each subreddit admins, an AI bot will read the linked article and rewrite the headline to eliminate the clickbait-ness.

Post & Comment Posts with links should be obliged to have the content summarized.

Any post that only links to an outside site should be blocked unless a summary of the content is added in the description. Redditors will often do it in the comments "saved you a click"

It will block a lot of clickbait or at least make it ineffective.

Subreddit My Idea Is: Ability to blacklist subreddit flairs.

Being a part of a few subreddits, sometimes there are just posts under flairs that do not interest me whatsoever or I don't even want to see at all. I know I can scroll past, but when most of the posts are under that flair it gets irritating scrolling past so many of them just to finally come across something else.

I don't want to lose the ability to sort the feed by picking a singular flair or having to go through all flairs separately that do interest me only because 1-2 of them do not but sadly have the most posts under them.

Just wish there was a way to pick which flairs and thus posts under them we wish for to not appear on the feed when scrolling through a subreddit.

Safety & Policy My Idea Is to Relax the Over-use of "Removed by Moderator."

I can understand Reddit needs oversight and policing against bots, but isn't Reddit a site for information and discourse? Once a post gets a certain amount of positive comments, likes, and traction, why not simply LEAVE IT ALONE!

Once discourse gains traction, most Redditers DO NOT care who or what started the post. The sudden "post removed by moderator" feels like someone shut down a conversation in mid sentence. It is very unpleasant.

How about, if the comments and discourse becomes positive and engaging, simply LEAVE IT ALONE!!? Would not that encourage people to participate?

This has been a point of frustration for many Redditers, but posting or commenting about this is difficult as most sites do not consider this point valid or allowable. How can we get this point across?

Moderator My idea is, Add Mod Log tracking for Regex requirements and subreddit settings changes

Currently, changes made to Regex requirements (and several other critical subreddit settings under Content Controls) are not recorded in the Mod Log.

If a moderator modifies, breaks, or adds incorrect regex strings or configs, there is zero audit trail to see who made the change, when it happened, or what was altered.

Please add Mod Log entries whenever subreddit configuration, especially Regex and post requirements is updated.

Feeds My idea is for the algorithm not to detect muting a sub as engagement with that sub.

My account is fairly new. Pretty early on, I started getting culture war posts in my main feed. Since I don't like getting sucked into that, each time a post like that would appear in my feed, I would just mute the whole sub. What I found was that this actually increased the amount of similar posts that were getting suggested to me.

The only reasonable explanation I can think of is that the algorithm is counting muting a sub as "positive" engagement. I feel as though it should work the other way around: If you mute a sub, subs that are similar to that one should have a lower chance of appearing in your feed.

Current UI My idea is to make Reddit remember where I left off when reopening the app

I've been frustrated about this for a while.

Sometimes I find something I want to read or comment on, but I lock my phone and come back to it later.

When I reopen Reddit, I can actually see where I left off for a fraction of a second before the app throws me back to the home feed. I then have to dig through my history just to find the post again.

And if I was in the middle of typing a comment? Well, that comment is gone unless I remembered to save it beforehand.

My idea is simple: Reddit should remember exactly where I left off, even after the app has been closed or running in the background. Unfinished comments should also be saved automatically.

I shouldn't have to search through my history or lose what I was writing just because I put my phone away for a while.

Thanks.
