Ham and cheese, a double plastic classic
This is a new one to me, pork is also plastic, in a “you are what you eat” kind of way, at least

Granny Smith's got a hater
reddit.comWeep, you plebs, for apparently you've not tasted what a proper apple is like:
If Granny Smiths have no haters, then I am deceased. They're revolting to eat fresh (horrible texture, sour but lacking in actual flavour), and subpar to cook with. I've genuinely never understood why supermarkets used to stock them, except that they usually seemed to be cheap so I assumed they bought like livestock feed overstock or something. Rarely see them in my local shops now, so I assume everyone is waking up to how awful they are, and good riddance!
With bonus opinions about real food versus American food, and cheese pizza versus pizza margharita:
I don't live in America, so no. I eat real food.
I in fact have no idea what "a1" is, and
normal peoplethe rest of the world don't call it "cheese pizza". It's a margherita.
That second one makes me worry somewhat that someone just wants attention.

I can literally go get Italian 00 flour, Campari tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and fresh basil right now.
And not even at a specialty grocery store. The regular one sells it.

Yet another fight about flautas. The Internet still can't figure out what makes a sandwich, and they definitely can't agree what isn't a flauta.

Chopsticks are bad and should feel bad
Normally a pretty laid back sub, but apparently there are people who have some unresolved issues with the very existence of chopsticks

TIL garlic powder is "artificial"
reddit.comComment text in case the original is deleted: "That’s…just not true though? It’s Americans thinking the powdered version of seasonings are actual flavourings whilst the actual veg/product itself isn’t? Garlic and onions for example, they’re used heavily in british cooking but because its not in artificial powdered form it doesnt count lmao"
What do they think garlic/onion powder is...isnt it just fresh garlic or onion thats been dried and ground up? Does artificial/synthetic garlic powder even exist?
I guess cocoa powder, coffee grounds, etc are all "artificial" now too by this logic
