Seeking Team # Looking for a Zero-Budget Team to Collaborate on My Open-World India-Based Game (Unity)

Hello everyone!

I’m an indie game developer working on an **India-based open-world game in Unity**, and I’m looking for a few passionate people who would like to collaborate with me temporarily on this project.

🎮 About My Game

My vision is to create an open-world game set in India, featuring an explorable environment, Indian locations, highways, NPCs, missions, character customization, and a story-driven crime/action experience.

The game’s story follows a dedicated officer from a fictional agency called CIB who gets caught up in the criminal underworld. The game will feature an evolving storyline, different characters, criminal organizations, and action-based missions.

🛠️ Current Development Progress

I have already started building the game in Unity. Here is what I have worked on so far:

* Created an India-inspired game map surrounded by water and mountains. * Built multiple highways and roads across the map. * Added terrain textures for different regions, including desert-like areas. * Implemented player movement, jumping, sprinting, and mouse-controlled camera movement using Unity Starter Assets. * Replaced the default Starter Assets character with my own selected character model. * Implemented full-body inverse kinematics (IK) to improve how the character's feet interact with uneven surfaces. * Planned a modular character customization system with separate outfits, hairstyles, and cloth physics. * Planned NPC AI, including walking, sitting, patrolling, and reacting to the player's actions.

The project is still in development, and there is plenty of work left to do.

👥 Who Am I Looking For?

I’m looking for people interested in collaborating on one or more of these areas:

* Unity C# programming and gameplay systems * NPC AI, navigation, and behaviour systems * 3D modelling, character creation, and animation * Environment design and Indian-style buildings * Character clothing, rigging, and cloth physics * Mission systems, cutscenes, and storytelling * UI/UX, optimization, and general game development

Beginners are welcome if they are genuinely interested in learning, contributing, and working as a team.

⏳ Collaboration Period and Budget

**Budget: ₹0 — this is an unpaid, voluntary collaboration.**

I have my half-yearly examinations starting on **18 November 2026**, so I’m looking for people who would like to collaborate with me during the period before my exams.

Once my examinations begin, I’ll pause my team collaboration and focus on my studies. After my exams, I plan to continue developing the game independently.

This is a short-term collaboration, not a paid job or a promise of future payment. Please join only if this arrangement genuinely works for you.

🤝 What I Hope to Build

I want to connect with like-minded people who enjoy game development and want to contribute to an ambitious project. We can divide tasks according to our skills, share progress, help each other learn, and build useful experience together.

I cannot promise that the game will become commercially successful, but I can promise to be honest about the project's current state, available resources, and expectations.

If you are interested, please comment below or send me a DM with:

* Your skills and experience * Which part of the game you would like to work on * Your availability before 18 November * Any previous projects or portfolio links, if available

**Even if you are a beginner, feel free to reach out!** I’d love to meet people who share the same enthusiasm for game development.

Thank you for reading! 🎮

I am in 9th class so anyone can help me with this idea I have not any budget to pay anyone

Hey guys. I have recently created a game and need some feedback. Would you like to try it out ?

Critique is more than welcome, just don't annihilate me as i have never done this before.

Since it is new Roblox still flags it as "16+" , hides the thumbnails and won't even show it if you type the name in the search bar :/

Hi everyone! My partner and I just launched our indie block puzzle game, Gummy Lab 🐻🧪

We built this because we were tired of mobile games filled with predatory monetization. Our promise: absolutely ZERO forced or interruptive ads!

What makes it special:

🧩 50+ Handcrafted Levels: No AI filler!

🎨 Deep Accessibility: Dedicated colorblind palettes (Deuteranopia, Protanopia, Tritanopia) and embossed shapes for maximum readability.

🌙 Native UI: Full Light & Dark modes built right in.

We are just a handful of downloads and reviews away from getting our first official Play Store rating! We would be incredibly grateful if you could try it out and leave honest feedback. 👇

Article Try the game I just created with r/gdevelop

Thumbnail gd.games
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I’m making my first mobile game with GDevelop and I’d love some feedback before I release it.

Bot Happens is a top-down road game. You drive a car and drag your finger to steer. Catch the robots to score points, and dodge everything else: fences, trees, barriers, oil slicks and a robot on a steamroller. The longer you last, the more robots and obstacles show up.

Between runs you can:

  • Earn coins and unlock new cars in the garage
  • Use shields that save you from one crash
  • Fill in a gallery by discovering every robot and obstacle

Please read before testing:

  • It’s designed for phone screens. On a computer the layout looks wrong and the controls feel odd, so please open the link on your phone.
  • Steering works by dragging anywhere on the screen. Tapping doesn’t move the car.
  • The “Watch Ad” buttons don’t work in this web version. Ads only work in the Android app.
  • Music might not start until you tap the screen.

Thanks a lot for your time!

Insperation Making this silly seagull simulator is a blast - but how much time would you put in a small side project?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So this is my first project Gullin' it: seagull simulator - and I figured I try an easy concept like seagull's dive bombing food on a beach (I recently moved to place with loads of gulls and got my food stolen multiple times...). I've been at it for 3months now and I've learned a lot and loved playing around with different options, mechanics, etc. and almost every evening I come up with some new idea for the game, and than realise it's probably already getting a bit out of hand for what was supposed to be a simple learning test on using Godot and Claude to vibecode something.

So how do you manage ambitions and keep yourself from starting new features every other day? I want to add power ups, robogulls, a narrative story with three different stages and settings, multiplayers VS and COOP gameplay, gull superpowers.. than realise nobody but myself might be playing it! (Anyhow, I guess thats why its called a hobby). So would be good to hear how people manage the scope of their projects from constantly getting bigger, and what is a good end point to aim at for a small game?

Help Needed Feedback for my Idle game

Hi everyone!

A few weeks ago I decided to try making a game, even though I'd never really programmed before. I came up with the idea, the design and the balancing, and used AI as my coding partner to build it. The result is Hustle Tycoon, a business idle game you can play in your browser on desktop and mobile.

You start by hustling for a few dollars, buy a lemonade stand and work your way up to an airline and a space company. You hire managers, invest on a live stock market, buy real estate, and eventually take your empire public with an IPO.

The first version got rejected by a game portal for quality, so I reworked the layout, art style, onboarding and early game pacing. Now I'd really like to know if it actually feels better.

I'd especially appreciate feedback on:

- the first 5 minutes: is it clear what to do, and is it fun?

- pacing: when does it start to feel slow?

- the stock market and real estate: fun extras or confusing?

Bugs, criticism and ideas are all welcome. Thanks a lot for playing!

Help Needed Building a new retro game

Post image
0 Upvotes

I’m building a series of retro, fantasy text parser games like those off of the 80s. You know, Zork, Adventure. I was made redundant a few years ago from an international marketing role, now a fractional marketing consultant, but wanna do my own thing coding fun games, as I love gaming.

I’ve built one as a testbed… but wanna garner what people loved and hated about them so I make fun nostalgic casual games.

What are you currently playing? Do you play demos first? What do you pay for your casual games? Desktop or phones… or both perhaps?

Thanks for reading!

Article Mission types in Phosphor Command and how they promote variety and replayability

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’ve been working on a game called Phosphor Command, a real-time tactics game with a base builder behind it.

This showcase is about the different types of mission objectives you do to complete a contract.

Every contract has a mission type, and each one has its own task. You start with a few unlocked, and get more as you upgrade buildings in your base.

In the raid mission type, you take on a walled enemy outpost. Eliminate is simpler, kill everyone on the map.

Assassinate means killing a target, Snatch is the opposite. The target can’t be killed and fights back, so you have to get close enough to subdue it, and then extract from the mission.

Extract and POW rescue are both about bringing friendly back. You secure VIPs or free prisoners from their cages, then escort them to the exfil zone.

In a recon sweep you have to reach every observation point on the map. In sabotage, a squad has to stand on each target to plant a charges.

Hold the line is different. You take an objective and enemy troops will continuously attack until a timer runs out.

The most complex are two convoy types. On an escort, your truck can’t be destroyed, but it only moves with a squad beside it. On an intercept, their truck stops while you’re on it and the goal is to destroy it, if it escape the map you fail.

Harder contracts have more objectives to complete: more targets, more people to escort, longer to hold an objective or a tougher truck.

Most jobs end at the exfil zone, which opens when the task is completed. Its used to extract troops.

The idea is these mission types give variety to the gameplay. Players will adopt favourites and strategy's to tackle each objective in its own special way

The showcase video goes through each mission type and how they play.

Hi,
I've been working on my own remake of the classic Dune II RTS, written entirely in Java without an existing game engine.

The project currently includes a map editor, multiplayer, and both campaign-style and more advanced AI. My goal is to preserve the feel of Dune II while improving usability and adding ways to play.

I'd be happy to hear your feedback or discuss any of the technical aspects of development.

Seeking Team [Hobby] Looking for collaborators for a playable Godot Android strategy game and future projects

Hi! I'm developing Who Left the Portal Open?!, my first game, and I would like to meet a few people interested in building games together over time. This is a volunteer opportunity at this stage, not a paid job. There is no guaranteed future payment or agreed revenue split.

What already exists

The current game is a playable 2D side-scrolling strategy, exploration, construction and defense game made in Godot 4 for Android. Its Google Play closed test is now active. It includes settlement upgrades, recruits with different roles, walls and towers, enemy portals, commanders, a dog companion, seasons, weather, music, a guided tutorial, save/load and English/Romanian text. The test unlocks all maps without payment and has no ads.

My contribution and workflow

I am leading the game design, making decisions about mechanics and balance, testing on my phone and preparing the release. I use AI tools extensively, including Codex for implementation and AI-generated artwork/audio. I want to be clear about this before anyone joins. The project is already playable, but still needs fixes, balancing and presentation improvements. This is my first game, so I do not have a portfolio of previously released titles. You can see an actual gameplay screenshot here:

https://cf.preview.redd.it/who-left-the-portal-open-looking-for-android-strategy-game-v0-d26zzwuu19xh1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=87a04d0f6c73bb44c28c090964780665ea31ad24

Who I am looking for

People who can think through problems, bring their own ideas, explain why something works or does not work, and follow through on a small task. Useful areas include game design and balancing, QA, touch UI/UX, Godot development, art and animation, audio, translation, community organization and promotion. You do not need to know every tool I use. Beginners are welcome if they are willing to learn and communicate clearly.

I would like to start with one small, concrete contribution and see how we work together. There are no fixed release dates for future features, and I am not promising commercial success. If the project develops into a revenue-sharing collaboration, the terms would need to be discussed explicitly first.

If interested, send a private message with what you would like to contribute, your availability and an example of your work or an idea you would like to explore. Romanian or English is fine. I value constructive disagreement more than agreement for its own sake.

Commercial model and future direction

The planned release model is a complete free map with two portals per side, plus one optional purchase unlocking the larger maps. There are no ads now. Full unlock owners would remain free of any ads introduced later. The first campaign, challenge maps with leaderboards and a multiplayer mode are planned for that unlock if developed, but there are no promised dates or guarantees. Multiplayer is intended as a competitive defense mode where opponents send enemy waves through portals. Later campaigns, new playable races and other optional content may be sold separately. These are directions to explore with collaborators, not completed features.

Insperation I made a Boxhead-inspired co-op zombie shooter on Roblox. The gameplay loop is the faster you kill, the more guns you unlock.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I grew up on Boxhead and the other Flash zombie shooters, so I built mine on roblox, named it Combo Zombies.

How it plays:

  • Top-down survival, solo or co-op with up to 4 players
  • Kill fast to build your combo. The combo unlocks your weapons mid-run, such as Uzi, shotgun, barrels, grenades, walls, mines, rockets, railgun etc
  • Pick 1 of 3 upgrades as you go (cluster grenades, crits, a stream-firing Uzi, more health…)
  • A boss every 5 waves, then group vote -> bank your rewards or push on
  • Zombies you kill get caught. Juice them in your own Zombie Lab between runs for cash
  • With the cash made from juicing, buy passive upgrades, skins and many more.

The challenges currently:

  • With some many bullets rendering at one time (x4 player) basically I had to do some polling on the object and with the damage, because often times it would because stuck and lagged a lot
  • The same thing with the zombies spawning in, currently i haven't got to really stress test the game, I would say its around 90% done, but I would love to see your take on it.

Insperation How little of a song do you need to name it? Two music guessing games I started for my sister

Less than a year ago, my sister Shani was diagnosed with cancer. She spent almost three months in the hospital, and to give us something fun to do together during those days, I started building a music game for the two of us.

She passed away on August 29th, before I finished it. I kept working on it, partly to keep my mind busy, and now it's live as Shabang, with two games:

🥁 TrackStack: every song is split into its instruments. You start with only the drums, and each wrong guess adds a layer: bass, guitar, piano… vocals come last.

⏱️ Songuess: you hear a fifth of a second of the song, and each wrong guess plays more: half a second, 2 seconds, 4…

In both, the less you need to hear, the more points you get, and each one has a daily challenge: one song a day, the same for everyone.

Free, no signup, works on your phone:

https://shabangmusic.com/

I'd love honest feedback, and to see your daily results in the comments.

Help Needed [Test for test] Wardlings – cozy fantasy tower defense, I'll test yours back :)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone! My partner and I need testers for our first game :)

It's a tower defense where your little hero runs around building every tower. You travel through a kingdom of five realms: green Greenvale, the deep Wildwood, autumn Amberfall, snowy Frostmarch and the misty Duskmoor where the Gloom lives. Each realm has its own catchy little tune too, which we're kind of proud of :D

The enemies also show how they feel: they wince when you hit them hard, panic when they're almost beaten, shiver when frozen and grin if they get close to your castle.

12 tower types, each with 4 upgrade levels. No account, no purchases. You obviously don't have to play it all, but if you actually play a few levels and tell us what you think, even better!

Join the Google Group: https://groups.google.com/g/wardlings-testers

Opt in to the test: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.tmlgamestudios.wardlings

Install from Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tmlgamestudios.wardlings

Keep it installed for 14 days. You don't need to play every day, just don't leave the test.

If link 2 or 3 says "not found", join the group anyway and try again in a bit. Google can be slow to let new testers in.

We built it with a lot of help from AI (Claude) for the code. We did the game design, testing and decisions ourselves.

Drop your test link in the comments and I'll join yours! Feedback is very welcome, especially if a level feels way too hard or too easy, or if the music gets stuck in your head (or annoys you, be honest!).
