News SK Hynix says memory shortages to persist until 2030
theregister.com“The company assessed that supply … is not keeping pace with the growth of the market,” SK Hynix told investors. “Given technical difficulty of leading-edge processes and the long lead time required to build new production facilities, it expects the structure in which demand exceeds supply to persist through 2030.”
It gets worse. SK Hynix has 14 long-term deals with 14 big buyers, who will collectively buy more than half of its output during 2027 and 2028, and some of them want to extend those agreements. The Korean giant doesn’t mind that because the deals include “a mechanism that reflects market conditions within a price range agreed upon with customers” and give it “a structure that secures stable profitability while allowing flexible responses to market changes.”

Discussion Realistically how much farther can apus go without say gddr dims become a thing to use as system ram?
The 890m for example is bottle necked by ram speed if it's not soldered RAM due to speeds that soldered into board ram can hit that modules can't. Nevermind how the strix halo/8060S needs soldered ram because speed.
I know that gddr is less than optimal for CPUs but 3d cache can fix the majority of that. So will we reach a point where in order for apu to keep advancing on computers we need gddr modules or even soldered gddr as system ram?

Discussion does anyone know how I would get someone to build me a prototype device that dials/answers calls from one and only one phone number
I'm thinking of this for an idea I have. I setup a group call (phone party line) for me and my agents. Now I can have them be my answering service / receptionist onmy line.
