We are absolutely thrilled to welcome original Pearl Jam drummer (Ten) and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Dave Krusen to the sub for an AMA!
As well as Dave’s iconic work with Pearl Jam, he has played drums with Hovercraft, Unified Theory and Candlebox.
In 2017 he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Pearl Jam.
A true veteran drummer of the music scene, we are delighted to host Dave, drop him a question below!

Simple question to ponder. Did people lose interest in alternative music, or was it suppressed by record companies in favor of producing easier and cheaper push button pop music? I heard Billy Corgan posit something to this effect in an interview. While I've never been a huge fan of Corgan or SP the statement seemed to carry some weight. Thoughts?

I was too young to experience their rise to fame and radio dominance in the early 90s. From what I've read and been told, they were latecomers who came in riding on the coattails of Grunge. So the critics gave them a hard time for it, yet the people absolutely adored their music. A people's band, if you will. Trippin' On a Hole In a Paper Heart was the song that sparked my interest and Tiny Music is the album that made me a fan.

You can close your eyes and swear you hear Chris Cornell again. The way Stephen is able to hit those high notes and sound so similar to Chris is amazing. If you don't know Stephen Wilson Jr.'s music you might like it since it has heavy grunge influence.

So Basically I was Listening to nirvana (Like always) and was listening to the entire super Deluxe In utero Album And Theres This one Song Called Jam - Demo and around the 5:25 Mark you can hear Cobain play Around 5 or 6 notes that sounds very similar to a riff he played at The live and loud soundcheck I don't a have the Video so Idk how you'd find it but Anyway That version is About 2x more notes and the Span between when he played them is around 11 months also kinda Sounds like talk to me It's a clean tone
Could be Nothing and just a coincidence But haven't seen anyone say anything about it And again Maybe just a coincidence but Definitely Kinda cool how Kurt would Accidentally recycle Riffs lol Anyway would like to know you guys Thoughts on it

These are my two thrifted beauties :)
I love both of these bands, and albums, very deeply. They hold a special place in my heart, especially that Sponge album.
