\OC\ Female fronted alternative rock band “Purple Negative” from Latvia releases a new single “Swimmer” along with an animated music video.

“Swimmer” is a melancholic alternative rock ballad that tells an emotional story of seeking comfort and healing in bodies of water in the aftermath of physical and emotional pain - heartbreak and sports injuries. Experimental, violin bowed guitar textures intertwine with acoustic guitar, creating a fresh, previously unheard of sound to Purple Negative’s musical identity.

I've been listening to HUM and Nemo for quite a while now and I cant seem to find anything that sounds quite like them. Specifically YPAA, DiH and In Stereo. I dont care if its not fresh, It can be a carbon copy of exactly HUM's style. I just yearn for more.

Idk if this matters but here are my favourite songs frome each:

HUM: Why I Like The Robins,Dreamboat, The Inuit Promise

Nemo: King Valley 55, Space Suit

thanks in advance:3

If Zepplin meets Robin Trower sounds good, check this out…

I swear I always tear up to the chorus part and want to know if anyone else does!!! Idk why but something hits and I don’t know what.

recommendation

YouTube recommended this guitar instrumental compilation to me. I found it very interesting, and it has an aesthetic that reminds me of Hendrix and Frusciante. My favorite tracks were: Escaparate, Mar, Tatan, Remache and Es un adios?

Are you afraid to cross the line?

My latest single, “Never Afraid Enough to Fear” is out now! It is available to stream on all music platforms and for purchase on iTunes and Amazon Music. This release is preceding my debut album, “Black Light Abyss” coming soon.

new alternative rock/post hardcore band from down south in Baton Rouge, Louisiana check em out!

Hello!
I am the director of the video and wanted to share some of the process of this video because I haven't seen this done before and it was a pretty fun process.

I assembled and animated some clips in a retro cartoon style that matched some of the themes and references of the song, I made them complete loops (either ping-ponging or feeding back to frame 1), i applied some color grading and filter to get the aesthetics to be more consistent across the clips, then exported every frame as an jpg and placed them in individual folders.

I then made a custom python script that would take the frames and assemble them in a circle image with each clip as a different ring, the inner rings would have frames omitted to account for the different size of the rings. This created a gigantic 16k png zoetrope image that was half a gb.

I then brought that into DaVinci Resolve, put it into a 3D plane, and put in a transform script to have it rotate so the image does a complete rotation for every bar of the music. Then I created a 3D camera within Resolve and had it zoom in and out, panning across it, and tilting/rotating. I then mapped out camera movements to match the tone of the song and focus on certain rings during key parts of the song. This was actually quite difficult because I had to use a much lower res image while working so my computer can handle it. Eventually I mapped out the movements roughly, I swapped to the high res image, then rendered (which took about 30 hours).

Once I had the final render I had to do some frame blending to get rid of some of the more intense flickering, applied some post-processing effects like colors and warping, added some overlays of the band, and built the intro and outro.

Just thought I'd share!
