I was a supporter at the Spinx Run Fest Half Marathon this past Saturday in downtown Greenville. Sitting on top of the dugout at the finish line I witnessed someone in cardiac arrest and medical personnel were performing chest compressions. These compressions last for OVER 5 minutes before an AED arrived. This participant was not breathing with the chest compressions alone and was desperately needing the AED meanwhile they didn’t have one readily available at the finish line. Someone died in the half marathon in February here and a change should’ve been made then to have AEDs at the finish line of any race - 5k up to marathon. There was not an ambulance on site. Another huge issue. It took over 15 minutes for EMS to arrive. Thankfully he was breathing by the time EMS came and I hope he’s recovering well now. I do not know this person but with heart related issues lately, why are AEDs not readily available at races? I thought I was about to see someone pass away in front of me and it was so traumatizing. This has not made local news or on social media, why is it being hidden and not talked about? Something needs to change. Medics should be there at every mile.

I was looking for bars or restaurants downtown that offer THC drinks. I was at the Trappe Door a while ago and I saw a “green drinks” section and I realized that I haven’t noticed anywhere else in Greenville that offered THC beverages. Are there any others that you would recommend? I’m specifically looking for somewhere that you can buy a drink and enjoy it there - not just a shop that sells THC drinks.
Thanks in advance!

There's a new-ish restaurant off Woodruff that is GREAT if you're looking for authentic chinese food outside of just Asia Pacific. They're the only place Ive been that serves Lychee Pork (albeit a bit pricey) but it's wonderful! They also have roast duck for those who like duck. Wanted to give them a shoutout because I'm glad some place has authentic chinese food with a focus on freshness vs AP (no shade to AP, I just think Min Town is fresher food).

Job closes this weekend, but if you have accounting experience, SCDOR is hiring an income tax auditor. Come work for low pay, but good work/life balance!

My husband is getting ready to do work on a property we own in Travelers Rest before selling it. He’s considering renting an excavator and feels comfortable handling the job himself, but were advice from people who have experience with similar projects.
The property has an old road that’s become very overgrown. The plan is to reopen and widen it to approximately 12 feet, providing access to the top of the property, which has beautiful mountain views. It’s about 0.4 miles from the main road to the top, and the terrain isn’t too steep that it’s a concern at all. He’d also like to clear approximately an acre at the top to open up the views.
We’re looking at renting a 30k ton excavator for around 30 days, since monthly rental rates seem pretty comparable to two-week rates. However, pricing varies quite a bit, and we’re wondering if this is really the most practical or cost-effective approach.
A few questions:
1. Any recommendations for local excavator rental companies with reasonable monthly rates?
For a project this size, would renting and doing the work yourself actually save a substantial amount compared to hiring a grading or land-clearing contractor?
Are there experienced operators who can be hired by the day to help with certain portions of the project if he’s not able to be out of work as much as needed? If so, where would we find them?
Has anyone tackled something similar and found that it took significantly more (or less) time than expected?
I’m especially interested in hearing whether the savings of doing it yourself are worth the time commitment, equipment costs, and potential headaches.
Would appreciate any recommendations, ballpark costs, or firsthand experiences from people in the Upstate!

Hey guys,
I volunteer for a South Carolina non-profit who has gained some new supporters and we hope to hold a couple in$person meetups to get to know folks who signed up with us.
Does anyone have recommendations for location/s in Greenville to host between 20 to 30 people that will allow food brought in, have a screen or wall for projection and isn’t crazy expensive?
Bonus points if anyone also has a suggestion for the Clemson area too!

Anyone on South Batesville Rd/Batesville Rd yesterday (Monday) around 5:15pm or so and experience an overly aggressive/reckless driver (swerving to try pass on small 2 lane S Batesville during 5:00 rush hour) in a late 90s white Chevy Silverado?
Is there anything at all we as citizens of Greenville County can do about some of these idiots?

Hey everyone! Does anybody know of any affordable in-person stores that sell scrub sets and long-sleeve shirts to wear underneath scrubs? I know uniform stores can sometimes be pretty pricey, so I’m hoping to find other stores that sell scrubs and undershirts at good prices without breaking the bank.
I’m mainly looking for physical stores I can shop at in person, rather than online. I’d appreciate any recommendations. Thank you!

Looking for a recommendation for an affordable attorney who will assist with a no contest, no hearing (Rule 28), completely straightforward divorce in Greenville County. Either pro se assistance or low cost representation.

Just moved to Greenville and looking for people to hangout with or do stuff with. Into a lot of things outdoors, games, drinks, cards, and really just about anything. The young adult discords aren’t really my thing not super techy. Hit me up if you’re in the same boat!

I recently moved to Greenville, South Carolina towards the downtown area. Last night around 2:30 I heard an extremely loud, consistent horn noise (not like a car horn, maybe like a train but it was much louder). I’m not sure if this is normal or if I was dreaming it, does anyone know what this could be and did anyone else hear it?

I’ve only been driving for about 3 months and I keep rear ending this person at my neighborhood red light. It’s like every time I look at my TikTok while driving they’re just sitting there.
Is this just horrendous luck as part of my learning curve, or should I expect this to be a common occurrence?

I just voted and my sticker was the normal one.
I saw where some voters received a special 250th sticker. Did anyone from Greenville get those?
I was hoping for a special 250th sticker

Drain Cleaning Tips for Greer, SC Homeowners
Living in or around Greer, SC? A slow kitchen sink, clogged shower, or recurring drain backup can be frustrating.
Here are three simple things homeowners can try:
- Avoid pouring cooking grease down the kitchen sink.
- Use a drain strainer to catch hair and debris.
- If several drains back up at once, consider having the plumbing system inspected.
I manage a website focused on drain cleaning in Greer, South Carolina, where homeowners can find more information:
https://draincleaninggreersc.com/
Disclosure: I manage this website, so this is a self-promotional link rather than an independent recommendation. Confirm the service provider, coverage, and pricing before booking.
Hope these tips help!

As the title says...my friend is in the early days of recovery, doing extremely well. Needs a gay male as a sponsor within the next 30 days. Will also post in Stopdrinking but want to try every possible option. Thanks.

Anybody know somewhere in Greenville that repairs CRT tvs? I picked one up off a curb that doesn’t turn on lol. I tried calling around but most electronics places don’t really answer the phone. Any recommendations appreciated!
