My gf is picky and wants good coffee. I am not a coffee drinker. She hates Starbucks and dutch bros because they're too sweet and she hates Kuppa Joy she says they have a bad brew of coffee. Anyone know a good coffee spot that might be up her alley?
EDIT: wow holy shit you guys are fast lol. Thank you all so much. As a non coffee drinker who knows no shops at all these suggestions are top knotch and I now have a few options to roll out. Appreciate you all Fresno!

Ask Fresno Open churches
I drove by St John’s Cathedral yesterday morning (around 10:30am) thinking I could just go in and sit for a few minutes but it was completely closed…does anyone know of any churches, preferably Catholic but any are ok really, that are open for the public without a mass going on?

News Fresno officer abused Flock cameras, other database, police department alleges
Fresno Bee article: https://www.fresnobee.com/news/local/crime/article317739395.html
"Fresno Police Department has opened an investigation into an officer accused of abusing Flock Safety cameras and using another police database for reasons not connected to a criminal investigation. The accusations appeared this week in a report from Fresno’s in-house police watchdog called the Office of Independent Review."
"The officer was placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation, police said. The case remained open this week."
Not seeing a lot of coverage on this, but I think it's absolutely worth locals knowing about it.

Does anyone have any recommendations for local places i could take it get a better edge on it?

Politics Missing Ballots
USPS notified us our ballots had been delivered, but our mailbox was empty. If this has happened to you. Go to one of the 10-day polling places. Tell them your ballots are missing. They are supposed to verify the ballot has not been collected, disconnect your name from the ballot number, assign you a new ballot, and you can vote. Our ballots not being delivered by Trump's USPS is unacceptable.

Ask Fresno Divorcing with more debt than assets, is mediation worth paying for in Fresno?
Most divorce discussions seem to be about dividing houses, investments and big retirement accounts. Our problem is almost the opposite. My husband and I are separating after eight years here in Fresno. We rent, have modest retirement savings and two paid-off older cars. But between credit cards, a personal loan and some medical bills, there's roughly $55k in debt.
Some of it was clearly household spending. Some cards are only in one person's name. There are also charges from the last year that we strongly disagree about. We don't have children, so custody isn't an issue.
We're mostly trying to leave the marriage without either person getting stuck with debt they didn't expect. Has anyone here used mediation for a divorce where debt was the main financial issue? Was it cheaper than each hiring a lawyer from the start?

Ask Fresno Questions on those who completed a Medical Billing and Coding course, How successful were you in landing jobs?
I just finished a medical billing and coding course online and I have done tons of research on how to land my first job, but all the job postings everywhere require experience that I do not yet have.
For anyone that landed any kind of entry level medical job with no experience, how did you do it? Does a cpc certificate help with the chances of getting hired? I have been applying to jobs outside of Fresno too because most of the jobs I've applied to here have already rejected me.
I have been in and out of the job market going to school and dropping out but this is the first thing I actually completed and I'm really trying to put most of my hope and efforts into getting a good job out of this. I'm currently asking some family and friends that work in the medical field to pull me in but no luck yet.
This is not a job posting but actual genuine questions I would like answered so any advice would be helpful. Thank you!

News Fresno County employee health rates for 2027 are out — and today’s bargaining session decides what the county actually covers
Fresno County employee here. The Plan Year 2027 health rates have been published, and today (Monday, Oct 26) SEIU Local 521 sits down with the County for the bargaining session where the County’s contribution — the part that decides what actually comes out of your paycheck — is still being negotiated. Open enrollment runs through Nov 20.
What the public documents show so far (SJVIA renewal and the County’s own rate sheets): Anthem’s self-funded plan renewed at +21.24%, Kaiser HMO at +4.22%, and the high-deductible plans now carry $3,500/$6,000 deductibles. The rate sheets themselves are still stamped “STOP! NOT FINAL” because the County contribution isn’t settled yet.
I’ve been compiling the County’s and SJVIA’s own documents — renewal figures, rate sheets, Board actions — at fresnohealthcosts.com including the full paper trail, so any county employee (or taxpayer) can check the numbers themselves instead of taking anyone’s word for it.
If you’re a county employee: don’t rush your enrollment. The contribution is the moving part, and it’s being decided now.

I do this in passing. I can't adopt any right now, but i see it as giving them company and the fosters foot traffic (which they usually have a lot of on their own anyhow).
