How does Dean and Sam’s childhoods and how their dad treats them impact the relationships they have with one another later in the show. ANY THEORIES??

I’ve watched the show and I’ve seen how Dean is forced to not care about himself and his soul purpose being to protect Sam. And I’ve also seen how Sam grows up to feel out of place and like he doesn’t belong in that family.

I want to know any theories about what specifically would psychologically cause them to have fights over their childhood and why they bring it up when they fight about other things?

Hi. Randomly had this fanfiction come to mind dusty after I don't know how many years. Ten? Fifteen? Maybe more. I only read it once and can't remember if it was on Live Journal, Fanfiction.net, or AO3. What I do remember is:

It took place some time after some kind of event that left a kind of post apocalyptic world.

All the supernatural beings were gone. I believe Sam and Dean didn't have anything to do with it and didn't know how it happened.

Since there was nothing to hunt, Sam and Dean go around helping people as best they can with their skills.

At the start(ish?)of the story they take out a group that is causing problems and leave a message on their building that I think was something like "take what you need and leave what you don't" which they have been leaving places as they go?

After they travel on and end up at a place with other people (bar?) who are suspicious of them as outsiders until they admit to dealing with the group and someone shows up saying the group was dealt with and that message was left. Turns out they guys have a reputation for doing good so they are welcomed.

Sam and Dean get a chance at a place to stay with beds. A woman shows up knocking to inform then there is a bath. Dean thinks she could be interested in sex but the bath has greater appeal.

That's all I can recall though frankly I am surprised I remember that much. I don't know why this has stirred up in my head after so long. I wish my little obsessive brain wasn't now focused in on it but I am so if anyone could help me find it so I can reread it and move on I would be so very grateful. Even if you know nothing or don't have a link thank you just for reading.

Hello! I don't know how to tag this properly or if this is allowed, but I'm looking for a roleplay partner!

I've been roleplaying on and for 13+ years and have desperately been looking for someone to roleplay Supernatural with. I've lost most of my RP partners due to real life taking priority over their online presence, or just due to people no longer sharing interest in the RP or fandom.

Here's what I'm looking for:

-A long term partner. I like long rps, I like to build up characters relationships and the story rather than just jumping into anything that could be considered adult content

-Long responses. I like long detailed responses, preferably in the 3rd person POV.

-LGBTQ+ Friendly. I'm welcoming to all genders and sexualities+.

-Adult content is welcome. I prefer to do action and adventure roleplays, however I'm not against some adult content as long as the characters and my partner are 18+. Just don't make it the focus of the RP

-Ship Dynamics. I prefer OCxCannon ships, doubling up.

-Plotting. I like to plot my roleplays a bit. Obviously not everything has to be planned but I like to have an idea of what my partners want or like.

What's not acceptable:

-Racism, Homophobia, and any kind of hate speech OOC is not welcome. IRL Political talk is also unwelcome. I will block you immediately.

-Puppeteering. Do not control what my character does or doesn't do unless I have given you permission to. I won't do it to you and I expect the same courtesy in return

-Don't make the roleplay all about you. Character drama is fine, but don't make it back to back so it takes away from the roleplaying experience for me.

-NO MINORS. I am an adult (25), I don't roleplay with anyone younger than 18 but would be more comfortable with 20+

-No short one line responses and I don't do *action marks*

-No IRL stuff. I won't be giving my real name, location or be sending pictures of myself. Asking for any of this or anything regarding my IRL life will result in a block

So, yeah, basically any fic where Castiel's wings are out and you can see them. It doesn't have to be the entire premise of the fic, but I'm fine either way.

Looking for a fic with the same vibe as The Rules of Love by V1llyQ. Basically Sam is in love with Dean, and Dean doesn’t quite feel the same way (yet) but is so obsessed with taking care of Sam and doesn’t want Sam to leave him that he is willing to put up with anything to keep Sam happy and with him. Bonus points if there's some doubt as to if Sam is influencing Dean with his demon powers or if they were both born fucked up in complimentary ways. No straight up rape/Non-Con and needs to have a happy ending.

This quote basically sums up what I want to read:

Dean had known it was only a matter of time, but he’d never imagined his worst fear would come quite this soon. Sammy was going to leave. Again. Just like last time. And Dean wasn’t ready. He wasn’t ready to let go of his little brother. He suddenly realized he might never be ready. It was a struggle to breathe. “I can’t believe you’re just going to leave,” he said in a broken voice, unsure if he was talking to Sam or himself.

Sam was still seated on the bed, looking like he’d aged ten years. “If you want me to go,” he said softly, “I’ll go.”

“Why would I want that?!” Dean exploded.

Sam’s head jerked up, startled. “Wait, what?”

Dean closed his eyes for a moment, trying to find some last reserve of self-control. “Why,” he repeated slowly, “would I want that?”

Sam was looking less sad and more confused now. “Because I just told you I want to put my dick up your ass?”

Dean blinked. “Oh, yeah.” The next breath he took came a little easier. “I mean, that’s, you know,” Dean shrugged, “less than ideal, but I don’t want you to leave.”

So, life has decided she doesn't like me, so I need some fun fic recs. I need to form abs from laughing. I need to fall over wheezing. No angst, none of that hurt/whump stuff. Not right now.

I need Sam and Dean getting themselves into a stupid, non-life-threatening situation and getting into even more stupid stuff trying to get out. I need Cas being a little gremlin the entire time.

Just nothing but crack humour, guys, okay.

I don't really have any specifics for that other than they need to be in English and complete. But if anyone's read anything funny lately, lemme know? Oh, and I would prefer it to be on AO3

Okay, so I never actually got around to reading it; my laptop glitched out before I could click on it. But it was on Ao3. So, basically, after the whole Amara thing, instead of bringing back Mary, Amara brings back John Winchester instead. I feel like there was established Destiel there, but I can't be sure. And it was basically just them trying to figure the whole situation out and overcoming difficulties.

At least that's what I think it was. So if anybody thinks they know what the fic is, or just know a fic along teh lines of that, please hit me up.

I’m a Supernatural fan, and I wanted to see how Dean might look as a Hunter in World of Darkness. I adapted a Vampiro Life character template and made an importable "Progeny" like file.

I built him around his combat skills, investigative instincts, and the way protecting people drives him. The file is dean_winchester.json.

This is for a vampire-only setting, so Dean’s hunting vampires rather than the other monsters from the show. Still, I think it’d be pretty cool to play him this way.

Someone made a post earlier looking for a very specific fic of Dean with selective mutism and that kind of sparked this post. Im not looking for that fic or even mutism specifically, but im looking for fics where Dean is visibly vulnerable and/or traumatized.

With the example of selective mutism in mind, being unable to speak due to illness, curse, mental health, accident, or anything like that does fit the bill of what im looking for.

Other options, just off the top of my head, would in crude blindness, deafness, broken limbs, and physical or psychological trauma.

I know how to use ao3's search function, it just seems like a lot of very specific and finicky tags I would have to figure out so im hoping for a few recs to get me on my way and I can use those fics to find more fics.

Bonus points if it is M or E. I read and write a lot of dead dove content and I dont shy away from much. T and below usually isnt my jam but if its really good im open minded.

• Dean is selectively mute.
• He uses sign language.
• He speaks only to Sam and eventually to Castiel.
• They are adults.
• Sam lives in a house with his partner (wife ? girlfriend ?) and the house has other people living in it (like a refuge or a hotel ?). Dean has a bedroom there.
• Bobby is in it.
• It might have been an A/B/O story and, if it is, then Dean would have been an Omega.
• Dean may have been a mechanics and that's how he met Castiel (car trouble, Dean got send to help him).

This is just my personal opinion and just my take of it.

In this episode, there's a kid who's his mom is working in the fun house. Dean goes to him when he sees that he's throwing a fit and he tells him to try and work with his mom cause he's working really hard (which is very true) but towards the end of the episode, we see the mom yelling at the kid when he says that he's lost his painting which then Dean proceeds to glare at him.

The boy apologizes to his mom. And that was it.

Now not including my own personal feelings towards the mom in this part, I don't think that that would be how Sam would have reacted.

Dean was raised by his dad. Where whatever he got was enough and he should just shut up and accept and just work with his dad no matter how bad the circumstances were. While Sam was raised by Dean. Which was SIGNIFICANTLY different since Dean acted very different around him and making a situation where just accepting that your parent is tired and you should take the yelling and be patient wasn't the case for him. He knew how he should be treated.

I guess what I'm trying to say at the end is that Dean was raised to just be appreciative and shut about even if he was yelled at. But Sam, he was raised to know what a good parent would do.

That's my take anyway.

This was also way clearer before in my head.

I see a lot of FTM Dean headcanons and fics, and I personally just can’t find it plausible the way a lot of fics go about it. To each their own and all that, but logically I can’t see Dean figuring himself out early enough for any of that in a remotely canon-adjacent environment.
If Dean was born female, I think his parentified motherly role toward Sam would’ve been taken to the extreme. I also think that, considering how Dean is hypermasculine almost as a coping mechanism, he would’ve gone to the other extreme were he born a girl, especially with it being the 90s and John reinforcing those stereotypes. It couldn’t gone the other way, to each their own opinions, but I see a female dean being hyperfeminine instead. And not feeling safe enough to figure himself out, especially in the late 90s and early 2000s, it wasn’t safe to be trans. Not to mention how repressed Dean is, he could lean into femininity as a way to reassure himself that he’s normal.
Of course, it could also go the other way, and Dean could’ve been raised as a tomboy, and that could snowball into him coming out as trans earlier. But I just can’t see John okay with a “daughter” of his doing boy things, he seems very traditional.
I’d love to hear other opinions on this, these are just my thoughts.

We see him heavily drinking on the show and there are some short conversations about it. Like Sam asking him, if he can even get drunk anymore.

So I was wondering if there are any fics out there (preferably on ao3) that deal with this properly. Bonus point if dean has to quit drinking and goes into withdrawal. Like maybe Sam making him quit or Cas.
