Cyber Sleuth & Hacker's Memory tools: Walkthrough(s), Digidex and customizable Digi-line calculator

Hi there,

I've come across multiple posts on this SubReddit asking for general information on how to advance and on how to use Digimon X, Y or Z, just to be replied with the same answer time and time again. I think it's a good idea to have the following information and tools up for grabs and stickied on this SubReddit, so that we can all use the information we would've liked to know beforehand on starting our own Digimon adventure (I know I would've!).

So, for those who want to know how to advance in Chapter X, where to find item Y, among other things, search no further:
Use this guide if you are playing Cyber Sleuth*.
Use this guide if you are playing Hacker's Memory.
* If you own a copy of the Complete Edition (Switch), the Digimon Encyclopedia provided in that guide is not applied. Instead use the Digidex database.

If you want to know what Digimon this game has to offer, you'll have to take a look at this Digidex database. You'll find every Digimon there is to find in these games AND which moves they learn at which level.

To go more in depth on how to Digivolve your Digimon X into a desired Digimon Y, make sure to use this Evolution Path Finder. You'll also be able to include what moves you want your Digimon to learn along the way AND exclude which Digimon you do not want it to Digivolve into*.
* Example: Digivolving into Omnimon along the way just to get Chain MAX and then De-Digivolve into WarGreymon to finally be able to end up as another Digimon is a waste of your Fusion resource(s). Also, not meeting Digivolve requirements that aren't per se necessary is just better to be avoided - i.e. Arcadiamon, or even worse Lucemon FM or SM. So, use those exclusions as best you can.

Some general information on what the best course of action is on Digivolving and training your Digimon:
- Make sure the Digimon is fully invested in either ATK or INT;
- Also make sure to include either Physical Drain (ATK-focused) or Spirit Drain (INT-focused) in your Digimon's moveset, just so your Digimon can juice themselves up and hurt the enemy along the way;
- Other moves worth mentioning to include in your Digimon's moveset for the long run are:
-- Character Reversal*;
-- Acceleration Boost;
-- Chain MAX;
-- Any one III-move that hits all opponents (preferably the counter-element of your Digimon's element)**;
* Try and build a full Type team, like 3 Vaccines for example. If you come across a Data-Digimon, using Character Reversal will revert their Type towards the beneficial Type. This saves up having to switch to other Digimon in your team who may be slower. But be warned, the status effect is not always applied, so chances exist that it will fail and you have used up your turn for the worse.
** Is your Digimon a Plant-type? Then the weakness is Fire. Choose to have a Water III-move to counter that.

Hope to have been able to help any new and existing player.

Cheers and have fun!

ABI, Stat Training, and Digivolution Masterpost

There's been a lot of confusion expressed on this sub from day 1 about stat training - how much can you boost your stats, how do you evolve digimon with low base stats in the needed score, what's ABI for? These games honestly don't do a great job of answering these questions, so since I see them asked about a lot here, I wanted to answer them pretty comprehensively myself.

Let's start with the basics: In the Cyber Sleuth games, unlike the DS titles, Digimon do not get overall stronger over time. An Agumon you raised from a Koromon, digivolved all the way to Wargreymon, and then degenned back into Agumon will be exactly as powerful in battle as an Agumon fresh off the DigiConvert presses. However, you can raise your digimon's stats above what they'd normally be through various methods. You can do so to make them stronger, or just to hit digivolution requirements. The primary way to do this is through the Train command on your farm island, and the stats raised in this way are determined by the Personality of the digimon there. Specifically, two personalities: the digimon's own personality, and the personality of the digimon set as farm leader. That leader digimon will just take its own personality into account twice when training. Here is a list of personalities and which stats they increase through training:

Personality Stat
Durable HP
Lively SP
Fighter ATK
Defender DEF
Brainy INT
Nimble SPD
Builder Neutral
Searcher Neutral

(Those last two personalities, Builder and Searcher, are used to speed up the other two farm commands - development and investigation, respectively - while that Digimon is the leader. If a Digimon or leader has that for a personality while training, it will gain a few points in every stat instead of a lot of points in one stat.)

So, for example, if a digimon is Lively and is training on a farm island where its leader is Brainy, it will gain a lot of points in both SP and INT. To those wondering: This is how you hit incredibly high stat requirements for digivolution! Sometimes a digimon will have low base stats in something in needs, but through careful training, you can minmax to success! EDIT 2024: u/Seipherise made a spreadsheet detailing digivolution options and what levels and training are needed for a given digimon to reach a certain form, so give it a look if you're struggling!

A good way to train in bulk is to get a lot of Digimon who want to boost the same stat all together with a leader who has that stat, then set their personality to either the same stat or some other stat they need. Stats boosted through training will appear as a + next to the stat on the Digimon's status screen! So with this hypothetical Digimon that just got trained in SP and INT, you could expect to see something like this on its status screen! Note the +15 next to SP and +28 next to INT. Also, please note that HP goes up 10 at a time! So when other stats would be boosted by, say, 15, HP will be boosted by 150!

But how do you set personalities for effective training, I hear you ask? Simple! Use the "Patch" items. There's one for every personality (Brainy Patch, Defender Patch, etc) and can be used freely to change a Digimon's Personality without any repercussions. These are sold at the EDEN entrance - one of the first places you get access to, and in the first Cyber Sleuth, the very first area you ever visit. It's an incredibly handy shop, make sure to check it out! This shop is also where you buy items that can lower a Digimon's raised stats, which is important to be able to do, as there's a cap to how much you can raise them. How much CAN you raise them? Well...

It's time to explain ABI! ABI is that seemingly useless stat that appears at first to only exist to gate Mega forms behind a bit more playtime and leveling. While, yes, a digimon needs at least 20ABI to access any Mega, and usually more like 40-80 (sometimes even higher), ABI's main use is as the hard limit to your raised stats. Specifically, You can raise a Digimon's stats by up to ABI/2 + 50. So if a digimon has, say, 100 ABI, you can raise their stats by up to 100. If you max a digimon's ABI at 200, you can raise them by up to 150. This is TOTAL, not per stat. So if you have 200 ABI to work with, you could give them, say, +100 ATK, +25 DEF, and +25 SPD. or +1000 HP and +50 INT. Or just +150 SPD! If you want a minmaxed Digimon, you need max ABI. You RAISE ABI by digivoling OR degenerating your Digimon. Specifically, the higher in evolutionary stage your Digimon, and the higher your level at the time, the more ABI you gain. Degenerating a Digimon provides signifigantly more than digivolving it. You can refer to this guide for a more in-depth look at it, but basically, to raise ABI, degenerate your digimon frequently, especially if you can give them a chance to level up a bit between doing so. Digivolve up to whatever level is easy to do so at the point in the game you're at (Champion or even Ultimate is the way to go when at endgame), then go back down to Baby, rinse and repeat. Doing so will get you high ABI in no time flat! Also, try to DigiConvert Digimon at 200% scan instead of 100%. It starts them off with 5 ABI instead of 0. Any level of scan above exactly 100% starts them with SOME ABI, but 200% scan is obviously the best.

FOR PS4 AND VITA PLAYERS OF CYBER SLEUTH 1: ABI MAXES OUT AT 100, NOT 200. All versions of Hacker's Memory and the collections on PC and Switch cap at 200.

A few extra notes: There are also items that can be fed to a Digimon on a farm to increase their stats. These are found randomly and rarely through the game, but can be bought from the shop in the DigiLab near or at the end of the game! Also, if your Digimon seems to meet stat requirements to digivolve, but can't do so, check their equipment! While equipment increases a Digimon's stats in combat, it does not count towards stat requirements to digivolve! If a Digimon, for instance, needs 150 ATK to digivolve and visibly HAS 152, but 5 of that is from its equipped gear, it technically has only 147 ATK and cannot digivolve. Finally, two things because this is also a post to help with digivolution: When DNA Digivolving, only the base digimon needs to have the required ABI! The other Digimon can be freshly converted as long as it has the CAM. However, the resulting Digimon will have ALL the attacks of both Digimon, so if you want some specific moves, you can divide your efforts and get half of them on one Digimon and half on the other. And also, degenerating also raises a Digimon's max level if it's not already at 99. So early-game, if a Digimon is literally incapable of reaching the required level to digivolve, just degenerate them once and they should be fine. This becomes a non-issue VERY quickly, though.

If there's anything I missed on this topic lmk and I'll add it! I hope this helps clear up the confusion this game can leave people with and some of the repetitious questions on this sub. Happy training!

    • Faster than ~345 SPD. Vulnerable to all break skills.

Huge Win Factor: A.O.E (Area Of Effect)

Knowing the right type, attribute, and skills to win games are all great. There's one other important fact, which is the damage class either being magical or physical. And from there, having access to AOE damage of either class can be the difference between an absolute-win and winning while scraping by. These are the opponents summed up with that ideal in mind.

Key: T/A/C is short for Type / Attribute / Class

If no attribute is pinned down, default to dark for that extra +50% dark skill increase. If no, then default to light as second-

Opponent = Problems T/A/C weaknesses The Solutions
004: PlatinumNume, Puppet, Machinedra Data / Dark / Magic Hell Crusher III, Kuzuha
007: Pied, Kuzuha, Lotos Vaccine / Light / Physic Susano, Goldra, or UlforceVeedra
009: Diaboro x2, Imperialdra DM N~A / Light / Magic* (See my sheet)
011: MetalEte, Bolt, Minerva Data / Dark / Magic Hell Crusher III, Kuzuha
026: Rose BM, MetalEte, Plesio Vaccine / N~A / Physic* (See my sheet)
044: Minerva, Darkdra, Tita Data / N~A / Magic Hell Crusher III, Kuzuha
045: SaberLeo, Diaboro, Beelze Data~Vacci* / Light / Magic (See my sheet)
050: Pied, Kerpy Blk, LadyDevi Data~Vacci* / Light / Physic Crickets - Susano, Goldra, or UlforceVeedra w/ extra steps.
056: Diaboro, Dorugora, VenomMyotis Vaccine~Viru* / Light / Magic (See my sheet)

See? It's no wonder why I state that Kuzuhamon and Susanomon are huge win factors. :D Thanks for reading.

it would make sense and it would've been better if both Yu and Fei were ALSO with hudie during the last part (let me explain)

Post image
77 Upvotes

so on the final stretch of the game where you go to eater eden with hudie to save erika. i think it was a missed opportunity to not also include Yu and Fei here

with Fei she mentions how yuuko is away and she looking after eden herself so it would make sense that she is here since she would be protecting eden

and compared to CS fei is a more important character on this game i dont see why she shouldn't be included

with Yu i think its good for him to also fight with us because after all the trouble he caused to keisuke throughout the game

fighting alongside keisuke wouldve been a great apology and a good "end" to his story. he is also a very important characters in the story soo

(yes i know they said "oh only 3 people can get in" but its not like they couldnt change it to 5 people just for the sake of it)

and also it would've been a great "mirror" to CS when you think about it

in CS you have the protagonist with 4 of their human friends (Yuugo Yuuko Nokia and Arata)

in HM you would've also had the protagonist with 4 of his hunan friends (Yu Fei Ryuji and Chitose)

of course none of this really matters cuz of the ending but i still feel like it was a missed opportunity

anyways bye

Math-related question (solved)

So I was going to ask a question because my Digimon had 'misleading' stats, and I didn't fully grasp the calculation steps to understand why. However, I ended up finding the answer to my question in the middle of labbing the results more. The images provided were for the sake of the question, but everything makes sense now. I also had a question related to stat checking for the purpose of October's 2/2 Event Battle, but I also figured that out too. I'm finalizing the video along with learning new things I didn't know in this game---like how Dotting slightly reduces the victim's ATK and INT. Not knowing this and noticing how my INT stat was getting nerfed in middle of my recording was boggling my mind among other things. So yeah, cool stuff.

For everyone that didn't know, but are curious to know how the stat calcs work, here ya go:

~The Stat Factors (from first to last priority)~

  1. Base stats (max Lv. 99 or Lv. 50 are recommended unless stated/reasoned otherwise.)
  2. Farm-trained stats [imagine your (+___) bonus trained stats like they're baked in, and part of the base stats. For most/all Event Battles, they're toggled off. Thankfully, Ranking Battle toggles them on, even though everyone is fixed at Lv. 50.]
  3. Personality (a patch will increase said stat slightly. The desired stat is multiplied by 0.05x, and added to the total stat.)
  4. Event Battle's boosts (most say +30%[0.3x], +50%[0.5x], or rarely +200%[2.0x].)
  5. Equipment additions (increments range from +5 to +25)
  6. Support skills/Passives (the increase can vary from +5% to 50%.)

So in the case for ChaosGallantmon for the October's 2/2 Event Battle:

(Note: numbers are always rounded down)

  1. Lv. 99 caps with 222 INT.
  2. Farm-trained stats are toggled off, so no +75 for me.
  3. Personality patch boost is 0.05x.
    1. 222 * 0.05 = 11.1, so it's 222 + 11 = 233 INT.
  4. The Virus type boost is +30%.
    1. 233 * 0.3x = 69.9, so it's 233 + 69 = 302 INT
  5. Backline ChaosGallantmon with one INT Attach A(+25).
    1. 302 + 25 = 327 INT
  6. ChaosGallantmon's Chaos Expert boosts ATK and INT by +10%.
    1. 327 INT * 0.1x = 32.7, so it's 327 + 32 = 359 INT

And that's how it works. Next post will be the October 2/2 video guide!

Lv. 99 base stats. 222 INT is the focus.
I trained them to have +75 to both ATK and INT for complimenting their passive, and added +25 more INT from the INT Attach A. The focus is the 322 INT. Although, farm-trained stats are toggled off in Event Battles.
We applied a Brainy Patch to ChaosGallantmon to boost their INT stat even further. A patch will increase said stat slightly. It's multiplied by 0.05x. In this case, INT is the focus.
Past me: this image alone is my question. How is the INT stat not 338, but only 336 instead?
This is ChaosGallantmon's stats in the Event Battle, and in the Reserves. They're getting the Virus type boost (+30%).
Lastly, this is ChaosGallantmon in the frontline, getting the INT boost from Chaos Expert (+10%). In total, 359 INT is chill.

Sorry in advance

Sorry in advance if this has been posted somewhere abd I already checked the community tagged items on here for ability and such. But im trying to get imperialdramon and my paildramon is level 62/99 and for his def I need 150 and hes at 136 but it says +0 by his defense stat. Im wondering what the +0 means since when he levels up he get +1 and how I can make the defense go faster. Same thing is happening with weregarurumon (blk) and wargreymon/metagarurumon. All the stats say +0 and level up super slow

why do these two 200 ABI PlatinumNumemon give such a vastly different amount of exp when loaded onto another Digimon, when the difference in their levels is so huge?

Question about Bug status, and a bonus clip of absolute robbery.

I was on a mission to win with as few Neutral Digimon as possible--the elites that could beat all six NPC opponents. Too bad 002 is too strong. Even 035 can be annoying too. But I was at a loss after the interaction I experienced from bugging Minervamon. I was under the impression a bugged Digimon can't deal 2.0x damage to any type. In this case, wouldn't bugging a Virus cause them to be virtually treated like a Vaccine? If so, then that definitely makes that clip mind-boggling. I admit I don't 200% understand the bug status, so thank you to anyone in advance for explaining the full breakdown about Bug.

Also, that 2nd clip was crazy. Opponent AI humbled me--

I'm on chapter 11, 48 hours in, Do later chapters go by quicker or am i really only at the half point of the game?

The game feels insanely long (20 chapters) for what it has to offer.

I mean, the story seems to be reaching it's climax soon, and i feel like I've already explored digivolutions almost in their entirety (3 of my mons are already at their last evolution, and I'll probably stick with some of them for the remaining playthrough)

Fun Digi-Montage

I made a video of fun highlights from the True Neutrality Contest. I didn't mention it in my ~10 minute reddit video, but a fun fact is that Mission #3 doesn't technically require 3 Neutral Digimon. You can do it with just two, or even one Digimon. And that sole spot belongs to none other than KingGodJesmon himself. Even if you win or lose--the counter goes up. Neat! Props to Jesmon, Lucemon FM, Alphamon, and the other Neutral mons that made it fun. Lastly, Magnamon's the GOAT, and I show why at the end.<3 Thanks for watching. Looking forward to the next EB-

How to beat: True Neutrality Contest

To summarize what I learned:

=Mastemon generates a lightsaber from her bare hand like Vegito can with a ki saber.

-Dead or Alive can proc multiple abnormal status effects. Too cool.

-Alphamon is lowkey the best Digimon for this contest.

-I have several team ideas built for you all to see that there are plenty of Digimon choices. The highest win-condition mons will most likely be Neutral attribute Digimon also having a Neutral attribute Special Move.

-Form teams with mons like Monzaemon, Minervamon, and/or Apocalymon to boost Neutral skill damage.

-Skills I recommend are Power Energy III, Acceleration Boost, Heavy Strike III, Mach Rush III, and whatever you may think is best!

-A Data/Neutral Digimon is a must. Also consider a balanced frontline and backline as well.

-No matter how fast you become (e.g. Nimble Chaosmon with 3x SPD Attach A's), you'll never be faster than the NPC Antylamon or Minervamon. So just accept you'll always go 2nd. (Although, I didn't test Max SPD Chaosmon paired with Imperialdramon FM. Hmm...)

Even if you don't simulate it the same exact way, incorporating things from the video will immensely help your success rate in winning! Hope you had fun with it.

Chapters:
00:00 Intro
00:17 Rules & Missions
01:11 NPC Opponents
02:34 Battle Box Breakdown
08:43 First Outro
08:54 Hall of Fame All-Stars
09:52 Final Outro / Thank you for watching♥

DigiRival

I am looking for a rival on the Nintendo switch to play online, like no broken Digimons simple growth like training Digimon starting up one week than training2 Digimon the next, and then rookies the third week. As a bonus name your Digimon so the rivalry is not confusing, yes newcomers in Digimon story cyber sleuth/hackers memories are welcome.

Can't transfer my vita save to the ps4 version

My Vita is dying and I wanted to transfer saves, but the ps5 won't download the cross save data. It's probably because DLCs are missing but I downloaded every DLC available.

Team member suggestions

I'm looking for any suggestions for team members to run with gankoomon through the story.

He will be a tank supporter and part of the main 3 so any suggestions of team members that you have used with him or just think synergies well with him. I have the complete edition on switch if that makes any difference 🙂

I used the following team to get missions 1 and 2:

•Crusadermon Nx with a master disk
•Tyrantkubuterimon with a master and gladiator disk
•Galantmon NX with a master disk
• Leopardmon NC with a master disk
• Baohuckmon with a master disk
•Armageddemon with a master disk
• Omnimon NX with a master disk
• Lucemon with a master disk
•Alphamon Nx woth a master disk

As for mission 3, get 3 neutral attribute Digimon (preferably baby) and just attack until you complete the mission.

Any more high defense/low health bosses i should watch out for?

Just fought my second eater in chapter 6 (the akihabara one). They are neutral and my attacks deal around 9 damage.

It would've taken me forever to beat them, but luckily i had either the white or black cat with me during both fights, and they deal fixed 150 damage.

Now, i reached lvl 30 with the black cat and I'm thinking of evolving it, but once i do, I'll lose my 150 fixed damage. I'm wondering if I'll regret it down the line just cause of those bosses.

How much ABI is needed to 100% the game?

Hello friends, I'm currently having my first run with this game and I tried avoiding spoilers as much as possible, but I got the info that there are some secret post game bosses, how much ABI is needed to defeat all of them? I'm on chapter 12 and most of my main team has around 60/65 ABI would that be enough?

Also, I am not sure yet if I will complete the field guild or not, but if I do, I know it would need to be higher for a few Digimon.

Currently playing on normal and the game is pretty easy so far, the hardest battle was the Flamedramon from Gold Collosseum.

Game knowledge question

I've been doing a lot of work on my google sheet lately for the CS/HM complete edition, for one reason or another. However, I've come across one slight difference here.. and there.. and there.. and it feels like it won't stop. So now I figure I just ask everyone.

Do we know every minor error, mistranslation, or difference listed for the CS/HM titles in-game --- versus what every resource says(GameFAQs/Grindosaur/Digimon.fandom/Digi-path finder)? (R.I.P. Digidb btw)

Why I ask: lemme give a couple of Digimon examples.

In-game(CSHM:CE), reading Shakkoumon's Disaster Blaster says it deals 75 magic light damage to all foes. The Digi-path finder also says this. However, →every←→other←→place←→doesn't.← They all say it deals 65 m.l.d. to all foes. The reason I care about this is because Shining Laser III also deals 65 l.m.d to all foes. So I tested it myself in-game, and it's absolutely correct. It's a stronger Shining Laser III. Unfortunately, we all know that we shouldn't believe everything that the game displays.

In-game(CSHM:CE), UlforceVeedramon's The Ray of Victory says it has a 10% chance of increasing SPD by 10%. Convincingly enough, the Digi-path finder and this FAQs page both say this too. Yet, I had to retest TRoV's effect for myself because this FAQs page, Grindosaur, and the Digimon.fandom HM Field Guide page all say, "Increases SPD by 10%" without a chance at all. Guaranteed boost without fail. That's amazing. And it turns out to be right after testing 10 consecutive SPD boosts in a row.

As silly as this may sound, I've avoided using UlforceVeedramon sometimes just for this flawed effect reason. Just like MirageGaogamon BM. And like the two examples I gave above--I've also come across similar divided differences for Cherrymon.. Whamon.. MetalMamemon.. Taomon.. Crowmon.. Shakkoumon.. SuperStarmon.. Lilamon.. Ripping Net.. Vademon.. Etemon.. Angewomon.. Kentaurosmon.. UlforceVeedramon.. ...and probably more.

I wanted to tackle this at first by making my google sheet helpful enough to the majority, but I can only address the CS/HM:CE game port. I can't advocate for every port, but all of these slight and minor differences make it a bit jarring.

Edit: i somehow forget that there are technically four varying ports/installments of the games. And that clearly shows in these games. Sorry but thank you to everyone for refreshing memory.

Wait, fans deadass believe that the lack of music in the real world is something good?

Post image

Just started the game and got weirded out by the lack of music in the real world section, and when looking up people's opinions on it, they seem to have no issues with it.

Yes brother, there is music when you go outside. Stores play them all the time, or your character could just use her phone and play some songs.

And when there isn't music, there are other background noises like chatting and driving, not just the deafening silence where you can only hear your steps.

Cant beat Jimiken in Cs chapter 2

I just dont get how im supposed to beat him. My party consists of Gekomon Angemon Black Gatomon and Gatomon, bc they are the only digimon i have that do any sort of damage.

Destructive cannon one shots my digimon, and i cant buy panic recover items to counter panic wisp. I already spent way too much time grinding triyng to evolve digimon that would be good against him, bc i didnt want to look at guides. Atp if i have to grind anymore id rather stop plaiyng this game and move on with my life...

I was having fun until the bossfight, but if the rest of the game is going to be like this then i wont be able to enjoy myself.

Also not being able to skip dialogue after every retry is painfull.
