Some people here are "tired" of the trans-centric convos going on here but that tiredness coming from cisgender people means absolutely nothing compared to how exhausted trans people are of having our existence questioned, sanitised, and treated as something to be debated and agreed/disagreed with.

Cyberpunk is and always will be a HEAVILY political game, and the more reliant a community is upon politics to avoid being erased and mistreated for the sake of convenience and bigotry, the more that community will be drawn to politically fuelled franchises.

We are here, nothing will get rid of us, and alongside the disabled community the trans community will ALWAYS be the most Cyberpunk group of people there is, no matter how tired people get of us proclaiming our existence.

Trans rights are human rights. Tired of hearing it? tough shit. We are in every community and we will not stop reminding the world that we are here.

And this recent mod drama has been stupid for all involved!(That includes me, the OP, and you, the person reading).

This character is one of the standouts in the game. Many people have praised the game’s treatment of her as outstanding in terms of how to use trans characters.

To bigots, you won’t win. Trans people exist, and they have every right to do so that you do. Their existence doesn’t affects yours one iota.

We get it. Just let it go, give the mods a chance to fix things. The horse is dead, you can stop beating it harder than I beat my wife.

If you look at how transphobes treat Claire in this game, you also understand how they treat trans people irl.

What they say and do to Claire, is but a microcosm of what these people are doing to trans people irl.

Thats why this matters, why awareness matters, why trans lives matter and why trans rights are human rights, which transphobia is violating.

Or someone of her archetype: chill girl, car's lover, her own tastes and her own job, always supportive in whatever gig that requires her expertise, big dick energy.

Genuinely as a trans woman who first got her awakening one night randomly deciding to make a fem v and realising that i could give v a penis and she would still be treated like a woman and people wouldn't care really made cyberpunk one of my favourite games of all time i did fall out of love with the fanbase years ago while pretending to be a straight cis man in my personal life aswell as with the rise of all the very vocal chud "fans" until recently where i bought the game again and started a new playthrough and ive been wanting to reconnect with the fanbase but seeing all the bullshit that has been happening on this sub over claire has ruined my image of the fanbase once again ive been lurking on this sub for ages aswell as the other cyberpunk subs and just gaming subs in general because so many of them aslong as you don't comment or interact with a visibly queer or trans account ppl will treat you normally youll be accepted but they'll still make jokes about "wokies" or "libs" or whatever the fuck all the while using shitty dogwhistle stereotypes as the punchline i know so many of you who aren't trans or queer are probably fed up with this discourse but this has effected ME a REAL trans PERSON and probably other queer ppl in this sub who might be too afraid to come forward and say it genuinely i hope the mod team actually sticks to there promise to change and does much better in future for all of us

Came to hear and relate with others about how fucking amazing this game is but it’s just a dumpster fire of debates over political issues instead of the main purpose of the sub, which is the game. Tis the circle of life for every subreddit but can we get back on topic here and not turn into every other sub Reddit?

As far as I’ve seen the moderators are still removing posts dealing with trans people instead of actually moderating their community like they’re supposed to. It’s a damn shame I get you don’t get paid but nobody’s asking you to be here either. There’s a 75% chance tabnams Fatass is back running stuff but there is a 100% chance that a majority of the moderators choose to silence trans people with the only one being strongly against it getting banned. I saw a post saying let’s forget it but unfortunately this subreddit is only doing basic Corpo pr to MAKE SURE we forget it I’d rather leave tbh this cesspool has been tainted and I have irl friends I don’t need to be here.

i’ve been a lurker in this subreddit for a bit now and seeing the mods straight up ban talking about us just to appease the people who want us dead for existing is such a baffling decision.

removing a mod because they made a post supporting us is so pathetic, it shows that all the mod team cares about is not needing to actually do anything.

Long story short, a couple former mods made the decision to ban all posts related to Claire Russel, a trans character in Cyberpunk 2077. They did this out of good intentions- they were tired of all the bigotry people comment under posts about her and wanted to both declutter the mod queue and eliminate the chance for more bigoted discussion. It was not a malicious decision- just an ignorant one. The reception to this decision was unanimous. It was not the right call.

Do we cease discussion about gay people because of homophobes? Nay!

Do we cease discussion about people of color because of racists? Nay!

So should we cease discussion about transfolk because of transphobes? Nay!

Backlash ensued. I spoke out against this decision and was removed as a moderator for a day.

So where are we at now? The sub is in chaos, full of people hurt and confused by everything that has happened.

I figured everyone could use a space to vent about how all of this made them feel, so feel free to use this megathread as just that. A therapeutic ventilation of why trans inclusion matters. Why its wrong to silence discourse about oppressed peoples despite the ones who oppress them being very vocal about it.

We have triumphed over the transphobic mod and they have been tossed. Can we go back to actual game related posts now? Show your love and appreciation of Claire yes, but it took me 10 minutes of scrolling before I hit a post that wasn't some endless variation of trans rights are human rights. Like guys I agree with your point but spamming it this long like this isn't the way to go about it, and comes across as pandering at some point.

On a recent post in this sub, (the Johnny gorilla face one) I responded to a comment that said “I’ll be fighting for your rights until I die” and I replied saying verbatim “I’ll be giving knckle s*ndwiches to transphobes in hell” . Less than 20 minutes later that comment is removed and my account is given a warning??
