Symbolism in Faye's Gunshots? (Real Folk Blues Pt. 2) Spoiler

I've just finishing watching Cowboy Bebop for the first time, alongside the film, and I can't stop thinking about it. It's a perfect encapsulation of what I love in media, in art!
There's a moment right at the end of The Real Folk Blues Pt. 2 where Faye fires her gun hopelessly at Spike, and my mind instantly went to a firing gun at a horse race; but Faye always had losing bets.
Was interested to know if anyone had this idea before!
