Theme Weekly Theme: Halloween Week is here! Let's see covers featuring the word 'Halloween' or the phrase 'Trick or Treat'! Anything Goes!

6 days to go! It's been a month of Halloween and horror covers!

Birthdays This Week:

  • 27th. Bernie Wrightson!
  • 30th. P. Craig Russell
  • 31st. Frank Stack

Looking Back:

  • October 1972 and Marvel has at least 8 different Horror titles on the racks (4 of them with Monster in the title!) including Frankenstein #1 with Mike Ploog on interior art!
  • Same month and year, Steranko has a great cover on Marvel's Creatures on the Loose #21, and Drax the Destroyer makes his debut in Iron Man #55!
  • Neal Adams has a classic cover on DC's Superman #419, October 1972!

I was working in the lab, late one night... Leave your comments, complaints, and compliments right here or... just be on your way. Tag your post with the Theme flair! Have a safe and happy Halloween week!

From a score I posted about earlier. The #1 of FF Vs X-Men. I picked up from a $35 lick and as I was organizing I found #2-4. It took 39 years but I finally have completed the run!

Books back from CGC! Only took 5 months, but nicely lined up with DCU Clayface release, which I loved.

Some nice London Comic-Con pick ups, including a sweet commission from the amazing Phil Buckenham.

Discussion Started collecting again

I collected as a child into young adulthood. Hurricane Katrina took my entire collection and I never found my way back into collecting.

Well I started back with the Krakoa Era of X-Men. About to sit down and read House of X #1.

Was always a fan of X-Men and figure this is a great place to start.

Let me know any series you love and suggest to a “must read” list.

Discussion What is the one book you want despite not really knowing why?

I know it is listed as Steve Ditko’s first published work, but something about this book makes me irrationally want it. 99% of people going into a comic store would look past it on the back wall IMO, whereas I would crumble like a cookie left out in the sun.

My 2027 goals include owning one. Don’t know why, don’t know what it would accomplish, but I will have one. Probably after my last two Amazing Spider-Man goals, but it really depends on when one “presents” itself.

Recently found a hurting copy of this epic meme book (has the panel where Batman slaps Robin). Just wanted to share some satisfying before and after pics!

Process:
- dry clean
- tape removed
- wet rinse with Ca(OH)2
- tear seals (used Japanese paper and nori paste, but the paper was a little too tanned whoops, oh well!)
