Jewellery Quarter/Moseley/Kings Heath/Stirchley for a Dalston/Stoke Newington/hackney type area

Firstly, thanks to everybody who responded to my previous post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/brum/s/ACKxkonFNY

Has been super useful in helping me understand feasibility of my lifestyle plans. Im planning to move in early January, however the last question stands....which part do i move to? I know this question has been answered multiple times i.e. best places in Birmingham to live etc, however I think people's recommendations sometimes seem quite contradictory to one another. So I figured I'd ask you all to compare it to my ideal London area.

Abit about me incase it helps you understand my vibe:
30, single, black, male. Generally work from home/cafes. Will go to London roughly once to twice a week. Don't know anyone in Birmingham so will be looking to get active in music jams, football teams and chess groups etc.

(Im aware that Birmingham is very multicultural, but mentioned my race incase there are any areas that I should avoid if its a factor to consider)

My London benchmark: Dalston / Hackney / Stoke Newington. Young, creative, lots of independent bars, cafes and restaurants. Full of culture i.e. ethiopian food/mexican bars the lot! Busy but in a fun, ever-so slightly grimey, creative kind of way. Not an Oxford Street way if that makes sense.

Im also lazy so when/if I catch a late train back from London, I should be able to get off at a station no more than a 10 min walk to my house.

I would like the area I live in to be bustling but in a clean/fun/creative way, not an oxford street kind of way if that makes sense.

Current shortlist: In my previous post people mentioned Jewellery Quarter, Moseley, Kings Heath and Stirchley - Are those still the top places? Moseley, Kings Heath and Stirchley have no train station, but I've heard such good things I'm seeing if its at all feasible. Anywhere else I should consider (Digbeth, Harborne)?

Cheers Again!!! (See you all in January)

Where can you buy sushi-grade salmon in Birmingham?

Ideally looking for a large slab of salmon. I would prefer it to be actually sushi-grade, and not just sushi that I need to freeze myself.

Sunday Evening Quiz at The Flapper 6pm.

Hey all. Hope you are all well. Just a quick one for you all. As you may have seen I've recently started a new quiz on a Sunday at The Flapper. This will be a Pop Culture(ish) quiz which aims to be different from their Thursday quiz which will still be running. I'm looking to make this bigger and, of course, increase the amount of teams that play. It's £2 per person for the quiz, and starts at 6pm. There are drinks offers going on too and the kitchen is also open. The quiz utilises the screens that are available so you get to see the questions and watch clips. Rounds usually are name the tv show/advert etc, a magic number and other fun rounds. Come along and check it out. Maybe, just maybe form a Reddit team if you fancy it (max 6 people per team). A Sunday evening quiz might be just the start to fight the Monday dread!
