PHOTO RNC Stem machining is impressive

I just got hold of a new RNC Legend Stem. The thing it tiny. Very low overall stack height at the fork clamp.

From the top it looks like a pretty regular stem except for the split bar clamps. But underneath there's a huge amount of material machined away below. It's shocking how much material can be removed whilst retaining the strength we're used to.

With Ti bolts it's easily half the weight of a regular stem. Pricey, but a lovely bit of kit.

My new street build, i know it has park tires and tubes but i used them for a few months and they seem to hold up well on streets ,also i saved approximately 1kg of weight using this combo.
Frame: W.T.P utopia hybrid 20.5
Fork: odyssey R25
Stem: sunday freeze 48mm
Bar: cult crew 9.35”
Sprocket: eclat elevate 25t
Crankset: flybike dolmen 175
Rims: shadow truss
Front hub: odyssey vandero pro
Rear hub: demolition rotator v2
Tires: khe mac2* (TPU tubes)
Chain: shadow supreme
Pedals: shadow surface
Seat: subrosa matt ray designer seat
Grips: odi longneck slx
Thoughts?
Even though the frame is a little smaller than what i should be riding as a 6feet tall but i like my frames smaller than average its a little more enjoyable

Found this used Free Agent Lodus for $450 CAD. The seller says it has some aftermarket parts and the bike is in good condition. Is Free Agent a good BMX brand, and is the Lodus a good buy for the price?

Sunday Nightshift build

I love this bike. I’ve had it for a little over two years now and it’s been solid. This is the most solid bike that I’ve ever built or owned. I’m 6 ft and 180 pounds. If you have any questions about the geometry or part specs, feel free to ask! Frame color is copper drop. Everything was bought from Empire. They built the wheels also. Albe’s really did me fucking bogus, so I’ll never do business with them again.

Edit: last three photos are to show what type of riding I built this bike for.

Thanks for looking! Have fun and be safe!

Insert text here about looking for first bike yada yada.

Goal is to find him a proper fitting super lightweight bike from marketplace.

46" tall. I was looking at a used redline proline micro mini. Should i go with the mini instead of the micro? What other bikes are good comps to look for?

I haven't rode for 20 years so is there newer / better / lighter bikes i should look for.

DISCUSSION Do I need a new frame?

I got this bike when I was like 14, but that was a long time ago and now I’m 6 feet tall and 165 pounds. I still ride the bike constantly and really love it. The top tube is 20” and the bike feels maybe a little small. The cranks are also 185 mm which maybe is making the bike feel smaller because it puts my legs up by the bars (I got them for free so I didn’t really care). I really don’t care about the bike and don’t wanna spend any money. How much difference would it make to have a bike that’s my size?

DISCUSSION I don't understand how I ride, I think?

Im mainly ride dirt jumps, hense why I normally ride a dirtjumper (I ride bmx as well) but I thought I'd get more responses on here, I'm also fairly new too this. So weird title, but I didn't know how too word this. Basically, I ride left foot forward and I'm right handed which from my understanding is regular or normal stance/footing?

I throw my backend to my left or clockwise, for whips and attempting tailwhips. I spin my bike too the right for 180s,360s and so on. For barspins, x-ups I spin the left towards me and the right away. Any tricks where I take a hand or foot off its my right side, so one handers and one footers my right hand or foot comes off, for t bogs and frame, seat and tire taps/grabs I take my right hand off also for 1 foot cans it's my right foot that comes off.

Is this normal, or considered correct? Is there a name for this I struggle sometimes with some of the tricks I know maybe trying the opposite of what I'm doing would be better or correct.

By the way I can't do all of these tricks but that's just the way I'd do it like I can do 180s but not the full 360 for example and can't do barspins, but I can do x-ups etc.

DISCUSSION How do I true a wheel after lacing it with new spokes?

Thumbnail
gallery
20 Upvotes

I just laced a rear wheel: Odyssey Hazard Lite rim, C5 hub, 3-cross, 36 spokes, 186 mm on both sides.

I've checked the lacing several times and I'm confident it's correct (spoke direction, crossings, drive/non-drive side).

The spokes are only lightly tightened so far (about 3-4 turns each). Some nipples sit deep in the rim and some already stick out noticeably.

In the side view photo, the red arrows mark nipples that don't reach the rim surface and the green arrows mark ones that already stick out.

Is it normal that the spokes are so far apart (in height)?

What's the right way to bring them all to the same height and true the wheel correctly?

Thanks!
