Misia is about 11 years old, don't know her true age, she sadly never knew what a home was before she was rescued. She lived in a parking lot where the guards used to feed her sometimes. She spent about a month hiding under a closet at her foster family, but slowly got more trusting. She used to be terrified of toys, even just booping a toy just some centimeters away made her hide somewhere.Β
I adopted her almost 4 months ago, she made crazy progress in that time. First I let her sniff a toy mouse, then saw if I could just poke the mouse to show her that movement was safe. So within a week she was comfortable with me poking the mouse. I slowly added movement every day, until I could fully swipe the mouse over the floor without her fleeing. I praised her a lot every time she seemed good with the movement, some chicken sticks helped a lot too.Β Β
Stick type toy thingies I thought she would never get used to. These used to induce utter panic in this poor sweetie. Just taking them and waving them around was a total no go. But look at this! Every time I introduced play time, I added some breathy sounds like hohohooo and chachachaaa so she would know, if I take this feathery stick, itβs for playing. So now she gets excited if she hears hohohoho and even starts waiting close to her toys. I am so so sooo proud of her and wanted to share her progress with you guys! My sweet Misia is such a brave girl, she adapted to being a housecat very well.
Her foster family is also very proud of her, I have been sending all progress videos to them as well, she is such a good girl and deserves the best!
