Reminder: Please Flair Mourning Posts

Hey void-lovers!
Most cat subs have a very delicate balance between "happy posts about my cat" and "sad posts about my cat", specifically when it comes to pet death. A lot of them don't allow it at all. It's really tough to strike the balance of letting people who are devastated mourn the loss of their furry friend while still making the subreddit usable for people who aren't interested in that kind of content.
We allow mourning posts here, but you have to flair your post with "Mourning" so people who don't want to see them have the ability to filter them out. It's an imperfect solution, but it's all we have available to us with subreddit tools. Please make sure to flair all posts about pet loss with that flair so we can make a great sub for everyone.
In case you're someone who's interested in filtering out that content, this link should work for you. I know, it's not the cleanest way to browse the subreddit, and I'm not sure how it works on mobile. If we had a better solution, I'd provide it, but we have to work within what reddit offers us :(

Mourning Goodbye buddy

Just lost my five year old beautiful black boy named Monster. He was with me through 3 car accidents, 2 jobs, and multiple surgeries. He was the bestest boy (who could be very sassy at times lol) he loved his scratches and lived the best life we could give him. But now he crosses the rainbow bridge to go be with his brothers Goop and Xero. Bye Monster, you were awesome and I’ll miss you a lot!

About a week ago there was a thread here about black cats with no tails. I commented a screenshot of a cat at the shelter I had sponsored, Jet, who had been in the shelter since at least March. He had his tail amputated and he is a shy little love bug.
Another member of this sub saw him, and last Sunday she took him home!!! I got the pleasure of meeting her as I was already dropping off donations from my birthday party at the shelter. I am so happy that this sub helped get a wonderful kitty into an even more wonderful home. Wishing Jet the happiest life with his new family!!!

Black Cat Day today and my boy is in the hospital since Sunday as he was diagnosed with Acute Kidney Injury 😔 I was a mess for a couple of days already as I was so worried, but we have to be strong for him. 3 more days and then labs to see if he is responding to the meds. At least he is noisy and eating and moving now vs. before confinement.
We get to see him at least twice a day, and if I can work at the vet, I’d do it. Aaaaahhhh I miss you my child. Be strong and we’ll go home soon!
