During Sharon Verma's live show someone from the audience made a cheap remark saying "Steal something when the show ends" just bcz she's from Bihar.

Her comeback?

She replied,I kept the ticket prices high so that people like you couldn't afford to get in.

Honestly she ate and left no crumbs! Some people need to be reminded that disrespecting someone based on where they come from says far more about their own character than theirs.

🗣 Discussion / चर्चा The Double Standards We Need to Reflect On as Indians

I think there is a broader issue we need to reflect on as Indians. We often object when people stereotype our state or community because of the actions of a few individuals, but sometimes we end up doing the same to others.

For example, when a crime is committed by a Bihari, it is unfair to assume that all Biharis share the same traits. The same logic should apply when a crime is committed by a Muslim, a Hindu, or anyone belonging to a particular community.

In cases like the reported killing of Ankita Kumari by her Muslim husband, the crime deserves serious attention, and the accused should be held accountable according to the law. Recognising the seriousness of a crime does not require us to blame an entire religious community for it.

We can condemn a crime, demand justice for the victim and discuss the circumstances surrounding the incident without turning it into a judgement about millions of people who had nothing to do with it.

This is not just a Bihar issue. Across India, we sometimes apply different standards depending on which community is involved. We ask others not to judge us collectively, yet we may find ourselves doing exactly that when someone from another community is accused of wrongdoing.

Perhaps we should reflect on this inconsistency. If we believe that individuals should be held responsible for their own actions, that principle should remain the same regardless of their religion, caste or state.

🙋‍♀️ Individual query / व्यक्तिगत प्रश्न Can't we have a start-up culture in Bihar

I have heard many of us working outside bihar and having some ideas for startups, while the others are willing to stay in Bihar and invest their time/money in building things from scratch.

So it means, if we have ideas and investment and opportunities then why isn't it coming up in Bihar?

I am genuinely curious to know the reason as to what's stopping us build something big and bring us to some competition with all the other states.

💁‍♂️ Opinion / राय Impressions of Biharis from someone in Delhi.

  1. Extremely hardworking. Will do things that others simply can not.

Be it in studies, competitive exams or in construction work.I have worked at Microsoft etc. and that place is filled with Biharis as well.

My wish for Bihari brothers is that they don't have to get into construction work as that is very harmful for health.

  1. Sweet language, friendly people and throw less attitude than others.

I am always rooting for Biharis and for Bihar much like most of India, other than many hateful, immature, shallow people. I feel as bad as anyone when a Bihari brother faces discrimination or violence anywhere in India.

Entire India should be extremely thankful to Biharis for their invaluable contributions and Biharis always be very proud of your work.

Jai Bihar!!

Bharat Mata ki Jai!!

🗣 Discussion / चर्चा What if Western Bihar was considered part of Purvanchal (Eastern Uttar Pradesh)

I've been thinking about this lately. What if western bihar, particularly the bhojpuri speaking districts like Saran,Siwan, Gopalganj, Bhojpur, Buxar, etc were considered part of larger Purvanchal region?

I mean culturally speaking, Western Bihar and eastern UP share so much in common whether it's language, traditions, festivals, food,or even social customs.

In fact, marriages between families from western Bihar and eastern UP are extremely common, which further strengthens the cultural connections between these two regions

Sometimes it feels like the state boundary between western bihar and Eastern Uttar Pradesh is more of an administrative division than a cultural one.

Of course, I'm not suggesting that western bihar should actually be seperated from Bihar. I'm just curious about the idea from a cultural and historical perspective...

🗣 Discussion / चर्चा Working in corporate while preparing for BPSC. Am I pushing myself too hard ?

Hi everyone. I am 29 M, an IIT graduate, currently living in old rajinder nagar, Delhi.

After graduation, I have worked as a software engineer for 2 years before leaving my job to prepare for UPSC. I spent 3 years into the preparation and then returned to the corporate in 2024. Currently, i am working as a Product Manager with a package of around 22 lpa.

I have always wanted to work in the govt. sector and stay close to my family in my home state, bihar. So, I have now restarted my preparation, this time for BPSC, and moved to ORN.

The problem is that I barely get enough time to study because of my job. After a hectic day at work, I am usually too tired to study and just want to relax. I also feel burnt out because I dont have any friends here. Most of my friends who were preparing full time in orn have already cleared the exam and got service.

Sometimes I feel i am pushing myself too hard and should just focus on my career, relax and enjoy. Other times, I feel i should study for bpsc because I want to be close to my parents and family.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? How do you manage work, preparation and your mental peace? Please suggest

Thanks

🎙 Self-Promotion / आत्म विपणन Building a platform for Indian gamers to find teams, join tournaments and show off their skills.

Hey everyone.

For the past few months we've been building a gaming platform. It's one place for gamers to build their identity, find people to play with, and get into competitive play. We are developing this platform as a common ground for all type of gamers to showcase their gaming portfolio, connect with other gamers, recruiter, caster and more.

What we're asking for:

You don't need to sign up(but if you want you can that would be awesome). You can browse as a guest. Spend 10 to 15 minutes clicking around and tell us:

Was it easy to follow? Did you understand what the site is for within the first minute?

What was hard to find? Was there anything you went looking for and couldn't locate, or found in a place you didn't expect?

Where did you get stuck or confused? A button that didn't do what you expected, a page that felt cluttered, anything at all.

On mobile or desktop? This is developed keeping in mind desktop, but you can use it on your mweb too. We don't have any app for android or iOS ready yet but that is in progress too.

Brutal honesty is welcome. Please reach out to me in dm. If you have query about our idea, please feel free to drop a comment.

📰 News / समाचार Sad news from Munger

Post image
666 Upvotes

Ankita Kumari from Munger eloped from her home to marry Mohammad Arzoo in 2021 after falling in love with him. She married him against her family's wishes.

When her family filed a complaint, Ankita gave a statement in court expressing her wish to live with Arzoo.

Recently, at around 11:30 PM, Ankita called her mother, Draupadi Devi. Ankita was crying on the phone and saying that she was being beaten and feared for her life. She pleaded with her mother to take her back home. Her mother reassured Ankita that she would come to take her home.

But before that could happen, the family received devastating news. At around 2 AM, Mohammad Arzoo called and informed them that Ankita had died by hanging. Her family was left shocked by the news.

Her mother rejected the claim that her daughter had died by suicide and claimed that Ankita had been murdered and that her death had been made to look like a suicide.

According to Ankita's mother, her daughter was harassed for dowry, pressured to convert to Islam, and faced opposition when she wanted to visit a Durga temple during Durga Puja.

Her mother is seeking justice for her daughter. Police is investigating the case.
